If some people want to go out of their way to hyper-optimize their character in this single-player porno rpg it hurts no one,
Compulsive min-maxer here, being able to hyper-optimize kinda sucks. A lot of the fun in doing it is figuring out how to do things the best way, but after that, it kinda kills my enjoyment. I can't just level up my stats in TiTS, because to be as optimized as possible I have to go to the gym, work out and sleep for 50 days straight, and then spend 24 hours talking to Syri. If I level up my stats, my mind tells me I'm wasting points that I could be spending to max every stat out once I've reached the max level and trained the stats high enough normally.
Even small things, which people may not even consider as part of min-maxing, can hurt. On one of my previous "main characters" for CoC2, during the time of stat affinities, I wanted to make her a cowgirl, but because of my build I had to give her fur to make her be counted as a "minotaur" by the game, just so that I could level up strength (I think she was a melee-focused White Mage?). If there was a spell that was basically just fireball but better, or a perk that made fire damage 5% stronger, but to access them you needed to transform yourself into a dragon, far more Black Mage characters will end up as a dragon, regardless of what cosmetic appearance the player would otherwise go for. It hurts enjoyment, because the person has to make a choice between what they want in gameplay and what they want in their character.
