Probably the tiniest gripe is... how when making a character they don't inform you to just pick a first name if you don't want someone moaning out an entire name.

Bit weird when I first played the game and heard stuff like "oh my god Liam Neeson! LIAM NEESON, LIAM NEESON!!!" This was just an example, totally not my first character's name.

A good way to deal with that is to have spaces for full names available with the game making it clear that anything but the first can be left back. Most of these extra names are effectively dummy or placeholder and are almost never called upon by the text.

However, allowing for three-part-names can enable mommy-dom dialogue that's currently unavailable. "William John Neeson you take your pants off this instant! Because of your tardiness, the pelvic exercises are going to be at maximum strength!"

Having turned my character into a kitsune it does sadden me a bit that the unique skills share the same slot, and foxfire just seems 100% superior, why would i use tailwhack kinda deal. Foxfire is 28 fire plus 17 for 3 rounds, tailwhack is 24 crushing and 12 tease, unless im fighting a very fire resistant monster which i wont be always knowing beforehand i always want to keep foxfire active

would it break things if racial abilities were always available as special skills, i would like to use the tailwhack at times for thematic reasons but apart from some cases im always better off with foxfire

I mean tailwhack is something that certain tail types get, and fox tails are on of them.

Seeing how one of the Kitsune special abilities is an Ultimate, I think the answer to your question is probably 'Yes'.

Tail Whack is a generic attack for anyone with a tail, and is meant to be garbage, and is probably being deleted anyway.

Blue Flame Blade on the other hand is a special at-will you can learn from Nakano as a kitsune, and is probably more competitive with Foxfire, especially if you're playing a spellblade.

Kitsunetsuki exists as well, if you're a pure spellcaster. Just equip the Fox Jewel Keros gave you (or buy a new one from Kohaku's rotating stock) and you have a new ultimate.

I mislike weak abilities, save for when they have weird, corner-case effects. Why not give Tail Wack a hard-to-use effect, like the ability to knock both the opponent and the user prone on a crit (with a possible physical ability check if that's still too strong)?

Flavor that merely takes up space on the screen and has no mechanical effect isn't flavor to me is my point, but to each their own. A cornercase, sub-optimal ability should be the very opposite of a min-maximizing one, but such designs do come with higher dev effort and can be disregarded as a result. From an aesthetics standpoint, it would likely be better if a tail attack simply replaced the flavor of certain melee attacks from time to time at random, but that would be a unique entity to code.

To be honest CoC2 and many of those behind it seem somewhat overly obsessed with "not being CoC1", or perhaps not being CoC at all.

That's probably because everyone and their mother seems to expect Coc2 to be very similar to the original, which while understandable is a bit silly when you consider just how different this game is to the original. I'm probably in the minority but I like that its so different, I'm probably one of the few who sees the og corruption of champions for what it is: A fun but highly flawed product. I'm happy they aren't trying to emulate that this time around.

No one likes a game where there is a "minmax" playstyle, it kills the fun of it being a porn game HARD, and it ruins any interest in making your own personal character.

That's complete and utter nonsense, there are countless different people playing the game who have countless different ways they enjoy doing so.

Actually I'm finally going to weigh in on the whole thing people have been claiming which has been nothing but illogical reasoning-
This is a single-player game where the main draw is getting your rocks off to odd fetish-content, who really cares if some attacks you can obtain might be a bit better than others? There's no multiplayer, no 'community meta' to worry about ruining.
People aren't magically transforming their PC into a humanoid dragon with a tail, wings and two 24-inch penises along with ZZ-cup breasts because it gives them access to the flight and tail-whack moves for their build, they are doing so because that is their disgusting degenerate fetish to live out as.

If min maxing means like in TiTs with our stats.. yes I much prefer min maxing.

Tail Whack is slated for removal altogether.

They literally did that in CoC1; that's why we didn't do racial abilities in 2.

Again, why does it matter?
If some people want to go out of their way to hyper-optimize their character in this single-player porno rpg it hurts no one, other people will just continue to play their own way in their own playthroughs.

I've went pure human both times, don't care if that means not being able to breathe lightning, fly using my angelic feathery wings or use my array of prehensile tentacles to violate foes mid-battle as an attack.

Because, to paraphrase a pair of great game designers,
"The behavior a game rewards or even enables are behaviors a game encourages"
And encouraging people to TF out of the way they want their characters to by virtue of mechanical incentives is fundamentally not something we want to encourage within our system. Cosmetic effects and mechanical benefits should be entirely separate.

Compulsive min-maxer here, being able to hyper-optimize kinda sucks. A lot of the fun in doing it is figuring out how to do things the best way, but after that, it kinda kills my enjoyment. I can't just level up my stats in TiTS, because to be as optimized as possible I have to go to the gym, work out and sleep for 50 days straight, and then spend 24 hours talking to Syri. If I level up my stats, my mind tells me I'm wasting points that I could be spending to max every stat out once I've reached the max level and trained the stats high enough normally.

Even small things, which people may not even consider as part of min-maxing, can hurt. On one of my previous "main characters" for CoC2, during the time of stat affinities, I wanted to make her a cowgirl, but because of my build I had to give her fur to make her be counted as a "minotaur" by the game, just so that I could level up strength (I think she was a melee-focused White Mage?). If there was a spell that was basically just fireball but better, or a perk that made fire damage 5% stronger, but to access them you needed to transform yourself into a dragon, far more Black Mage characters will end up as a dragon, regardless of what cosmetic appearance the player would otherwise go for. It hurts enjoyment, because the person has to make a choice between what they want in gameplay and what they want in their character.

To each their own indeed. I respect that that's how you and many others enjoy and consume games, but to me that's a weird mentality to have about a game mostly based on flavour and not mechanics. It's a silly tail attack in a text RPG, not a 780ms bash in For Honor.

Even when playing on Dark, I find I can usually make space for at least one suboptimal "cool/silly" move and still do alright.
From an aesthetics standpoint, it would likely be better if a tail attack simply replaced the flavor of certain melee attacks from time to time at random, but that would be a unique entity to code.
Not gonna lie, I would love that. It sounds like it'd be a lot of work tho.

So after dragging my feet on it I finally got around to doing Aileh's preg content and man was I disappointed. I thought Aileh might grow on me the way Kiha did in the first game but it just never happened Despite the romance bits here and there it just never clicked. Also super not helped that I don't find her very attractive. With all the positive reception around I thought Freja at least might be worth it if her mom isn't but damn was I wrong. I didn't like any of those romance scenes. I can't exactly explain it but it feels like there are several things that are missing from the relationship that didn't show up later and still aren't there now. I can't help but feel Japed after going through the rig-a-ma-roll to see all of these scenes only to have them not hit me at all the same way as other baby mama scenes have. like even the birth/hatching scene felt severely lacking and failed to invoke the same sort of reaction I get whenever Kiyoko would give birth or when Helia would have Helspawn.

I think a large part of it might be Alieh's personality which is way too Abrasive and overly competitive for my taste, but I can't shake the feeling that something is just missing. Whatever the case I don't feel like going back through those scenes and I won't be bothering with Aileh ever again from here on.

I really liked her whole romance, we got to see more of her and importantly she got to interact with other characters/her environment. I'd like to see more in the same vein. I found her and Freja incredibly adorable. It's all subjective though I dig that.

She's kinda the opposite of Zo's for me where we didn't learn anything new about the character, she still feels like she exists entirely in the imagination of our character.

It's one of the challenges of interacting with a mute character. She can't really explain the specifics of her previous life. Either the champ would have to be very patient and content themselves with possibly not getting it in detail, or they would have to do the legwork (of finding out about Zo) themselves.

Oh I totally get that, my main issue is the writing for her while isolating her character to much was still really great. It just feels like a backstory had yet to be decided on before writing her starting a family expansion, like it's treading water until that could be ironed out and more interactions with the world could flow from that. It's likely that's something that's coming down the road though so it's not a major complaint.

my personal gripe? as a kitsune the only way to have a fox face and fur over entire body and fox legs and arms is through a save editor

that and there are 5 party member slots but 2 are reserved for 1 summon and quest companions.... why not allow 3 companions and have the 5th slot be for summons (since you can only have 1) and quest only characters

third gripe..... garret nor his mother are companions....

Kitsune are supposed to be mostly human with fox attributes, at least in this game.

That would be a balancing nightmare, plain and simple.

third gripe..... garret nor his mother are companions....
Once upon a time, garret was considered to be a companion. But he was dropped for kiyoko. Also, only established writers are allowed to make a companion, and they're limited to one. Expecting are lead dev Savin (who went insane making three and almost made a fourth) wsan (who loopholed the limit) and B (who had to take over Berwyn due to Hugs leaving).
