BruhSince nobody bothered to answer my question here or in the General Bullshit forum, I'll leave out some of my original comment and make this quick.
1. I loved seeing so many dark-skinned/furred* characters/enemies and ran with the headcanon that they were all BIPOC.
2. I eventually started to dread seeing them and hoped the next person was always light-skinned/furred.
3. Much of the writing gives off the impression that the writers were actively engaging in (casual) racism.
3a. See Gwyneth having a "dirty white undercoat" (as opposed to "off-white") and being called "Domestic", which was conveniently replaced with "Homely" on her wiki. She's basically a mammy (racist caricature of African-American women).
4. Even though I managed to make it just past the Dog Days quest and declined Hethia's offer (SPOILER:she turns on you, right?), playing this game feels ick, so I'm just gonna quit. Thanks for making it. Sucks that y'all made it racist.

agreed. As a black woman I also say what the fuck is that post because it makes no sense and sounds like just being offended to be offended.Dude Im black and that whole post is just wtf...
There's no depth to an entire race behaving the same.I like Fantasy racism; it gives the world depth
Tell that to Japan, there is a reason the stereotypes exist...whether you like it or not. There's no depth to an entire race behaving the same.
Agreed here, especially in terms of Morrowind. As for its place in fantasy in general, or CoC, it does give the world depth. No, it's not exactly 'cool' or acceptable, even in these fantasy worlds, but it's not like we're pretending it is. It just emphasises cultures in these worlds having a history with each other, and tells the reader you're not exactly 'living' in a perfect world (that you're reading). It's a good plot device, as long as you're not making RL connotations with it ofc.I like Fantasy racism; it gives the world depth. I remember back in the day some ppl would complain about Skyrim having casual racism but that's gold because everyone in Skyrim was racist to the point where it had race fetishists. The lusty Argonian is the most memorable meme next to "You're finally awake?"
1. I loved seeing so many dark-skinned/furred* characters/enemies and ran with the headcanon that they were all BIPOC.
So, you inserted race into this game and attached it to... who, even? Given that you quit at Dog Days, the only dark-skinned or dark-furred characters in the Old Forest are Brint (who is one of the game's companion characters and who, I will note, comes from a culture which is literally "what if Rome was made up of minotaurs and cowgirls?"), the hornets, Azyrran, and one of the three members of the Wyld Elf Band. These make up the minority of characters in the old forest. And it's really weird because you seeming to hope that you would run into a "light-skinned" character seems like... well... racism.2. I eventually started to dread seeing them and hoped the next person was always light-skinned/furred.
3. Much of the writing gives off the impression that the writers were actively engaging in (casual) racism.
She's a humanoid dog. Lupines are based off of dogs and wolves. And even if I buy into your idea that fur colors tie into race (as opposed to the characters which are part of fantasy races largely being fantasy races with an extremely loose connection to the real world), looking at your source there are basically no traits whatsoever which connects Gwyneth to what's listed there. I feel like you could only possibly draw this conclusion if you just didn't engage with her at all and just made immediate assumptions using your own prejudices.
And here we see how obviously you've brought your assumptions into this. I'm not sure what exactly you think Hethia's offer is, since there's a few things I could see as being offers from her and you don't describe what path you took through the quest, but to put it simply, there is no path in which she turns on you without you expressly, directly, being hostile. She acts standoffish, but that's about it.4. Wait, so you headcanoned in real-world race equivalent and then got mad at the devs for writing what you interpret as racist when aligned with your headcanon????Since nobody bothered to answer my question here or in the General Bullshit forum, I'll leave out some of my original comment and make this quick.

As a black person....what the absolute hell is this guy even talking about? How did they even get the mammy part? Isn't Gwyen (i probably misspelled her name, my bad) supposed to be a caretaker? And if she is, she def doesn't give mammy vibes what so ever imo. All i see is a whole bunch of nothing trying to be said. Which is sad considering that's what I do but whatever.Since nobody bothered to answer my question here or in the General Bullshit forum, I'll leave out some of my original comment and make this quick.

They're in the walls, they're in the goddamn walls.
I mean, that's exactly the racism I'm talking about.Tell that to Japan, there is a reason the stereotypes exist...whether you like it or not.
No, not really. you can see the less prominent nut's bottom is even with the close testicle in Evelyn's sack, but for Ryn's, the ball behind hangs lower than the forward bollocks.Drag Evelyn and Demo Ryn have the same nutsack
I'm really glad that the obsessive min-max part of my brain that makes me stop having fun with these games hasn't yet attached to the mirror stance.main problem I had with that quest was mirroring all the powers before they died. Knowing Alissa had nothing I needed to mirror was such fun though, finally I'd be able to actually fight instead of just letting Daliza hack them to shred while I was doing defend and the occasional war cry to keep aggro,
