Ryn date so not your dealOh, never heard of this. How to access it?
as far as I have seen you enjoy being mean to her and I think that is available for high confidence Ryn only, but I can be misremembering!Hmm, and why would that be?
The starting races and backgrounds are fixed and won't be changing. In part, setting them up this way allows the writers to make certain assumptions whenever they want to reflect them with pc.bg or pc.ora checks, while being flexible enough to allow for mental roleplaying. If you want to imagine your Champ as being from Jassira you're free to do so, but the game is never going to acknowledge it.Possible update to some of the premade races such as being a former Jassaran Noble when starting as a Feline for backround instead of a Noble Scion as that could allued your character could be from any number of cities in Savaara.
Kitsuhon is based on Japan, yes. It's particularly drawing from the Heian Period, but has gone through a whirlwind tour of other parts of Japanese history, per Tobs. You might find this post interesting.Would love to see the story extend into the Old Country if you choose to be a Kitsune as I feel Corruption can even cross oceans and no one is immune to it lol
(also when mentioned by any Kitsune I get the faint feeling that the Old Country as they call it is in some respect Feudal Japan and can picture what that place would look like.)
I could think of something like that by combining the original race parser and the background parser, but I doubt it would happen, because the point of the backgrounds is that they're specific enough that your character can be adapted for situations, but broad enough that the specifics can be headcannoned. Making you specifically a Jassiran noble if you started as a catfolk would be interesting, and make sense, but it would step on the toes of people who don't want to be from Jassira but do want to be a cat noble.Possible update to some of the premade races such as being a former Jassaran Noble when starting as a Feline for backround instead of a Noble Scion as that could allued your character could be from any number of cities in Savaara.
Jesus, are you trying to kill TObs?Would love to see the story extend into the Old Country if you choose to be a Kitsune as I feel Corruption can even cross oceans and no one is immune to it lol

The reason people say the Winter City and its palace which should be the biggest city seen until the Minotaurs were added to the game gets considered lifeless or desolate is because it is. Pretty much a ghost town that mostly gets by on one-off events in comparison to every other game-city the player encounters. And yes, it is what people expect. I've been keeping tabs on the pulse of commentary on the game since the first public release, and it's always bars and shops. The outcry when Winter City was empty despite it always being intended to be just a backdrop for the palace of ice, and hence we were liars for supposedly hyping up a big population center to have it deserted? How should we fill it according to the self-proclaimed voice of the people? Bars and shops, of course.
And as for our sister game? Well, consider Dhaal, with not just one, but two, and perhaps even three planned bars. Then when we look at every past planet...
Bars and shops, and shops and bars, and bars and shops, and shops and bars, and a weapons dealer. On the other hand, we have Alypia with her tours of the winter city which showcase the boreal elves and their lives far more efficiently than just another bunch of bars and shops.
Oh, those! Yeah, if I remember right, they are not Locke behind you having low confidence Ryn, they just raise her confidence so I never pick them.as far as I have seen you enjoy being mean to her and I think that is available for high confidence Ryn only, but I can be misremembering!
Like it or not, a blacksmith is a "natural" sort of contact for a band of adventurers,
My (admittedly, vague after a few months since i've played the game last time) impression/memory of the Winter City is that it's a dead-empty little square where nothing happens attached to a big-ass palace with three people spaced across dozen+ locations where, between few quests, also nothing happens.
would it have been better if those were all locations we could explore ourselves?
would of been better as basically two corridors and a tour giving a summary of the location.
so to make sure i am understanding this right, not rudra but interested in adding some characters, they HAVE to be sexable....and with all genital types unless they have preferance gender wise... atleast 4-5 scenes and abourlt 1500 words per scene..... so how easy do they have to be sexable.... like can we add something to make it feel earned where it has to be earned or does it just have to be avalible?-You are expected to have sex in your submission; pure infrastructure is the privilege of staff and a couple trusted community writers, and rare at that. Since you do not belong to either group, having no sex in your submission is going to get it binned. We expect a reasonable amount (4-5 scenes per character, suggested ~1500 words in a scene after parsing, strongly recommend scenes for all genital configurations unless they have particular tastes).
I do, in large part, agree with your points, but it should be pointed out that Rudra never said that they were making a bar.-You are strongly suggested to reconsider your idea of yet another watering hole; this is a sentiment that's not just shared by me, but also creative control in the form of Savin. If you're insistent on writing yet another watering hole, sure. You should be aware that the bar for review will be set much higher, cetris paribus, than it otherwise would be. While we won't pass up absolutely stellar content, you'd have to do a truly novel spin on the subject matter and work on Alypia's level.
They use the word "bar", but that was in the phrase "bar one", not "this is a bar". What the specific location would be was never stated, beyond it being a money-sink.How interested are people in seeing purely non-sexual content in the game?
I've had an idea brewing for potential characters and location, but bar one (potentially) none of them will be sexable for (obvious) reasons
but it would be more worldbuilding, a new NPC or five to talk to(with quite a bit of conversation!) , and a bit of a money sink for champs with nothing to do if i learn to figure out the parser
I do, in large part, agree with your points, but it should be pointed out that Rudra never said that they were making a bar.

You may think you did, but that line of reasoning has it backward -- that (some) of your implementations are lacking and don't meet the expectations, it doesn't make the expectations any less relevant and/or valid. If your premise starts with "but some of the blacksmiths we did were half-assed and don't even do what's expected of them" then the conclusion should be "so that's something to improve upon" instead of "so that's somehow a proof we should never do another blacksmith again".I already covered this in my previous post. A couple of these don't even offer services to the party, so there's no reason for the champion to even come in contact with them.
If you'd read my post you'd notice I never said anything about promises you've made or not made, and wasn't referring to them. I've simply disagreed with your claim about the Ryn dates being effective way to make the dead setpiece appear as anything more than it currently is -- a dead setpiece. Alypia's work might be doing it for you in this regard, for me it doesn't. At all.Because, if you'd actually read my previous post, we never promised, nor hyped it up as anything more than the dungeon that would cap off act one; the city itself was meant to be an empty setpiece. (...) And yes, Alypia's walkabouts and Ryn's dates are far more effective than a bunch of clones of Anon's or Burt's.
No, we have largely a misunderstanding on your part of what the raised points are about. Which makes it quite easier to dismiss them, sure. So, in a short exchange, we've had:
-People pressing points which were already addressed previously, showing either not reading or attempting reinforcement through repetition.
It was you who brought up Dhaal and it's locations/writing when comparing it to the kind of writing in the winter palace at least I assume that's why you mentioned it, otherwise I have no idea. TiTs writing and design must seem like the height of indulgence by these metrics. This is a false dichotomy based on a hyperbolic statement. The choice isn't between shops and bars and having absolutely nothing.
That one bar in dhaal competes for more world building and sex then the whole winter city and palace. It manages to be more descriptive in four tiles then the entire palace. And that's one bar in the zone, one optional place. The reason people say the Winter City and its palace which should be the biggest city seen until the Minotaurs were added to the game gets considered lifeless or desolate is because it is. Pretty much a ghost town that mostly gets by on one-off events in comparison to every other game-city the player encounters.
It's interesting to get insights like this into the intentions behind how some areas were designed. During my first playthrough, I did indeed think the city was a bit sparse compared to other areas of the game, but honestly, the gravity of the events that play out in the castle made me completely forget about that until it was brought up here. If people do want to come up with more content for the city to flesh it out more, then that's great, but it should be an organic process, and not just because of "needs moar stuff."Because, if you'd actually read my previous post, we never promised, nor hyped it up as anything more than the dungeon that would cap off act one; the city itself was meant to be an empty setpiece. There were absolutely no interactable city or repeat NPCs promised as part of the package; anything else is a bonus. And downplaying four NPCs, two of which are considerably major, one sub-dungeon, three quests which originate from the location, one major holiday event and multiple minor events where the place was intended to be barren from the outset is, frankly, disingenuous. And yes, Alypia's walkabouts and Ryn's dates are far more effective than a bunch of clones of Anon's or Burt's.
Yikes I don't particularly like Byvernia either but that seems pretty cruel. Yeah she can be annoying but there are plenty enemies that attack the PC for no particular reason. Perhaps just ask for permanent removal option like the elf boy in old forest?I've given plenty of thought to how to hypothetically deal with Byvernia. It usually comes to one of three lines:
- Handing her to the Chargers. (Kor'Minos has their own procedures for punishing banditry)
- Destroying her belongings. Her weapons and potions, namely, though stripping her naked and blasting all her worldly possessions into ash and scrap sends a message.
- Giving her to Arona's tribe. As a slave.
but byvernia is not a bandit and a mother of your kids (if your male and bred her)..... she is a hunter hunting wyverns
She's only into dicks....and not everyone plays dicked champs and even if they do, not everyone is into her. So for vag-only champs that's out of the option.Or you could just marry her to put an end to her fight for dominance
I don't see any point in engaging any further. Anyways, Rudra, if you're still here, a summary of the relevant guidelines to your question:
-You are expected to have sex in your submission; pure infrastructure is the privilege of staff and a couple trusted community writers, and rare at that. Since you do not belong to either group, having no sex in your submission is going to get it binned. We expect a reasonable amount (4-5 scenes per character, suggested ~1500 words in a scene after parsing, strongly recommend scenes for all genital configurations unless they have particular tastes).
-You are strongly suggested to consider steering your submission away from well-trod ground; this is a sentiment that's not just shared by me, but also creative control in the form of Savin. When it comes to such content, you should be aware that the bar for review will be set much higher, cetris paribus, than it otherwise would be. While we won't pass up absolutely stellar content, you'd have to do a truly novel spin on the subject matter and work on Alypia's level.
No. Companions have always been 'one per trusted writer' and the removal of Berwyn changes nothing because his original author left and isn't coming back, and while B stepped up to give Berry a big sendoff plot-wise, he has a companion of his own. The only person left on the list of qualified writers who could have written one is William (planned companion: Mausthief Einin) and they missed the deadline. That cutoff was for the benefit of everybody, in terms of knowing which characters they'd need to account for in all of their own projects. Since William missed it, they don't get Einin as a companion (though she may be reworked as an NPC, potentially) and Viv is the last one who's going to be added to the game.I apologize if this question has already been asked, but now that Berwyn is no longer a companion, does that mean a companion slot has opened up?
This is very close thematically to Serena and the lyceum; you would be heavily overshadowed by the theme already being explored by Alypia who is a teacher herself. Khor'minos being the only location where there would be enough of a tradition of civic institutions to warrant an orphanage, but over there children are communally raised according to Wsan's lore, so an orphan would likely be taken in by a relative or neighbor.I was at work, and now that I'm home I've been reading all your responses. It's interesting, to state the least.
Alright, I was leery of adding sex due to the nature of my planned submission, but I feel I should clarify what that actually is
I was thinking of adding an orphanage/school, with the added NPCs in question being the schoolmaster, (who I'm thinking of making a white haired bishonen with an athletic build, incidentally) and several children who you could have a few interactions with, like teaching them maths/reading etc or playing some sports. the money sink part would be from buying supplies/upgrading the school/dorms, like Gwyn's nursery
I feel this would make the world seem more real and would allow for consequences of Kassyra's invasion beyond the sexual - clearly people would be affected by this, and while its implied the demons do not harm children, it would make sense for there to be a safe place for those without parents or whose parents are away as the average civilians don't know that.
If sex is mandatory I'll work something in for the only adult here - the schoolmaster, as hopefully all of you know why I'm not even going to consider adding anything in for the students
And any feedback y'all have is appreciated, of course
And she's a very good moo aside from that.Serena herself is very sexable
how can you not like ryn O-oI am not sure if I would say that Ryn dates as entirely positive example. Sure, they seem nice but they are locked behind you liking Ryn and being nice to her. Which, compared to stuff like most stations/safe spaces in TiTs, even the smallest ones, is not good compromise in my opinion.
Maybe two to three more NPCs with random events similar to those you can find in Hawktown when clicking explore would do the trick.
people have their tastes, while she is the only female char I like I can see why others wouldn't like herhow can you not like ryn O-o
