How interested are people in seeing purely non-sexual content in the game?

I've had an idea brewing for potential characters and location, but bar one (potentially) none of them will be sexable for (obvious) reasons

but it would be more worldbuilding, a new NPC or five to talk to(with quite a bit of conversation!) , and a bit of a money sink for champs with nothing to do if i learn to figure out the parser
Certainly wouldn't mind more things to do with all the cash that is weighing me down.

None whatsoever. This is a sex game. While there is room for pure infrastructure, that is best left to the devs. A content submission without sex will almost certainly be rejected.

Also, please no bars and shops.
When you're the one forcing people to sit through your extremely drawn out non-sex content that has little to do with the main plot of the game this rings hollow.

YES to more bars and (especially) shops.

Some of my favorite moments in the game have no sex in them, hell TOB wrote some of them.

Not saying that's the primary reason to play these games of course. Just, feels odd to say there's no interest in them when the world building is what sets them apart from almost every other erotic game.

It's the non-sex content, world building and wholesome stuff that sticks out there as some of the best stuff for me.

Also, could we have more multiple bed fellows or have Tui and Brienne be toggle able?, as well as more bed fellows for Wayfort?

See, the thing is that people are conflating "no purely non-sex content" with "no non-sex" content, when I clearly stated the former in my first post. Pure infrastructure is a staff privilege to write, for various reasons.

I'm not here to debate, I'm simply here to state the guidelines. One of the reasons Drifa's first draft was rejected wasn't that it wasn't even that sex wasn't eventually planned, it was that there was none in the first submitted section. Jstar had to push up the accessibility of the sex content so that it could come in a single package. You can ignore this guideline and do as you please, just as anyone can ignore the banned content guidelines. We will reject it.

Now for bars and shops.

Shops: there is less call for shops in the game, simply because the gear treadmill is not intended to exist and hence there is no need to run to the item shops and buy the next tier of gear necessary for advancement. If a shop is created, it needs things to sell, and meaningful things at that given that one can't just recycle the last tier of itemisation. Currently Balak is working on the second part of the combat balance patches, and as such large quantities of new items are discouraged.

Bars: this is more personal, but bluntly, bars are often the most standard, generic, boring setpieces ever. There are so many locations that one could use to highlight the flavour of a people and culture, and bam, another bar. Yes, I know that eating and drinking together is the ur-form of human socialisation, but you don't need a bar to do it in. There's a bar on every planet in TiTS, all vaguely the same, and the barsluts that inhabit them tend to be as much setpieces as characters get.

I deliberately avoided shops and bars as much as possible when designing the haus; all shops were consolidated into the storehouse and there's no bar, not as a tile anyway and only mentioned in Bubbles' content. It makes sense, bars and shops are low-hanging fruit. It's kind of like how every fantasy village has a blacksmith because that's what people expect. And that's whats borne out; we simply have far too many blacksmiths who don't do anything. They're the game's most overrepresented profession, I'd say. We have the orc blacksmith, the mare blacksmith, the rat blacksmith, the OTHER orc blacksmith, the lizard blacksmith, the 'mander blacksmith, and there're at least two more that were pushed for.

So please. You want to do some interesting worldbuilding that you say you love? Move away from bars, shops and blacksmiths.

There's certainly interest in content that, in and of itself isn't sexual. However, I feel it is usually preferred to have a character be open to sex. We know that people complain a fair bit about not being able to fuck Garth, and Gweyr, and some of the other Hawkethorne shopkeeps. Unless your characters have the look of Quasimodo mixed with the personality of Frollo, people will complain about there being another bunch of unfuckable npcs that they want to fuck.

There's nothing wrong with having npcs that are primarily about things aside from sex, but even nameless and faceless enemies are expected to be fuckable, so there'd be malcontent with a whole bunch of characters appearing without the ability to fuck.

Settlements with large populations or who are part of a warcamp having blacksmiths isn't a problem, its common sense and the fact a wandering adventurer would interact with them in various towns they go to if they handle combat gear or anything to do with relics is logical.

And who are you talking about with the "rat blacksmith"? Svern? He's a trader of junk in the caravan who happens to have various skills he's picked up, trying to say he's "just yet another blacksmith" is nonsensical.

The mouse boy runs a hand through his short, scruffy hair. "Uuuuh. Crap, I don’t know what there is to tell, [pc.name]. I grew up next to a noble who had a good book collection, and then got apprenticed to a smith... then a mage."
His self-appointed title may be junkrat, but he's certainly a smith (among other things) for the caravan. Handles repairs, creates metal items, has arms and metal for sale. Picking him out of the group seems like nitpicking.

Speaking of Blacksmiths, it will be great if every blacksmith had their own unique set of weapons and armor to sell like Vitruvius

This would be another part of why new writers can't just go and submit shops. Controlling the supply of new items and uniques is very important for maintaining what's left of Balak's sanity.

And what about new 'shops' that sell things other than combat gear? Things that might be more unique than stuff that simply goes in your inventory.
Because honestly even moneysinks like rebuilding the Wayfort or refurbishing a shack for your kungfu-monk babymama didn't even put a dent in the sort of bank balance you have by this point if you've been playing the game longterm.

Observer has been previewing a vault expansion on Discord, where the player will be able to deposit electrum in the Wayfort vault to serve as another money sink. But also if you've raised enough electrum to max the nursery money sink (512,000 EC) and the Wayfort vault money sink (presumably around that much?) then another shop selling... intangibles? Isn't going to do much for you.

I would like the option that at certain point, be it certain level, we could remove some of, if not all, random encounters that are not of demon/mooks variety. Stuff like Byvernia, Drider Queen, the Annoying mushroom lady, Mino Miners... Really, they just annoy me.
Byvernia is a bitch that offers nothing to vagina champs, Drider Queen is a dangerous individual, the Mushroom lady, the Orc strangler... Well all of them are bunch of rapists. It really feels silly to let them roam free for no apperent reason. Even if it is just as something simple as "look, I made a point that I am stronger one here, so skip it" would suffice.

And make them regular NPCs so that people that liked them could interact with them.

I'd like to do up the frosthound at some point in the same vein as the nursery, the kitsune den. fancy it up with cash/resources for Garth.

Feel like once you've brought in a small village worth of people you should probably be throwing in SOMETHING to maintain the place.

... Or maybe put the worst offenders into jail in Wayfort? That still would allow to have sex scenes, considering how sex-obsessed some are. Would demand a lot of writing to make it stick though.

Gastigoth in TiTs is pretty creepy but it certainly suits the purpose of giving the player an alternative to killing and preserving the NPC.

Sexual offense in the marches only seems to get you a slap of the back and nothing more. So I am not sure if we would have any legal leg to stand on. But if we own the wayfort, we are technically the law....

I've given plenty of thought to how to hypothetically deal with Byvernia. It usually comes to one of three lines:
  • Handing her to the Chargers. (Kor'Minos has their own procedures for punishing banditry)
  • Destroying her belongings. Her weapons and potions, namely, though stripping her naked and blasting all her worldly possessions into ash and scrap sends a message.
  • Giving her to Arona's tribe. As a slave.

but byvernia is not a bandit and a mother of your kids (if your male and bred her)..... she is a hunter hunting wyverns

Damn, and here I thought I was cruel. I do like the idea of the last one, though it could lead to complaints such as "Why can we not enslave the bunny girl?" And I think same would hold true if we give her over to Chargers since slavery is Minos most popular past time (if their bad end is any indications.)
So yeah, second options sounds the best.

Damn, you see, half of my champs lack the dong so they can not really progress her relationship with her even if they wanted to. And those that do have better partners at hand sooooo... To heckl with her.

It's kind of like how every fantasy village has a blacksmith because that's what people expect. And that's whats borne out; we simply have far too many blacksmiths who don't do anything. We have the orc blacksmith, the mare blacksmith, the rat blacksmith, the OTHER orc blacksmith, the lizard blacksmith, the 'mander blacksmith, and there're at least two more that were pushed for.
Counter-point: you have so many blacksmiths not because that's what people expect but because you have this many factions, and for each faction it makes perfect sense to have their own source of arms instead of relying on external supply from potential enemies. Just like it makes sense to have a faction chief, and as a result in this game the faction chiefs easily rival the blacksmiths, numbers-wise. The presence of both is a natural consequence of the world building you went for.

Now, is this boring and stock-piece content? Only as much as you choose to make it. Just like there's no guarantee opting for different locations will produce anything that isn't just window-dressed stock bar by another name, there's no requirement for the bars, forges and local courts to be inhabited by set pieces. If that's what it boils down to, then it's ultimately on the writers.

The same argument could be made of any essential profession, and yet it doesn't happen. And even if I were to accept that premise, it's not necessary to make these characters NPCs instead of assuming that there's one in the background.

The blacksmith argument that equipment vendors are required is turned on its head when a couple of them don't even do that.

And yes, it is what people expect. I've been keeping tabs on the pulse of commentary on the game since the first public release, and it's always bars and shops. The outcry when Winter City was empty despite it always being intended to be just a backdrop for the palace of ice, and hence we were liars for supposedly hyping up a big population center to have it deserted? How should we fill it according to the self-proclaimed voice of the people? Bars and shops, of course.

And as for our sister game? Well, consider Dhaal, with not just one, but two, and perhaps even three planned bars. Then when we look at every past planet...

Bars and shops, and shops and bars, and bars and shops, and shops and bars, and a weapons dealer. On the other hand, we have Alypia with her tours of the winter city which showcase the boreal elves and their lives far more efficiently than just another bunch of bars and shops.

Anyways, there are already two bars that serve as important content hubs in the game, and two more in KM. There is no need for yet another.

I would kinda like to see at least these for CoCII

Possible update to some of the premade races such as being a former Jassaran Noble when starting as a Feline for backround instead of a Noble Scion as that could allued your character could be from any number of cities in Savaara.

Would love to see the story extend into the Old Country if you choose to be a Kitsune as I feel Corruption can even cross oceans and no one is immune to it lol
(also when mentioned by any Kitsune I get the faint feeling that the Old Country as they call it is in some respect Feudal Japan and can picture what that place would look like.)

Would love to have the ability to give my companions new weapons or upgrade their weapons in some way so they can get some more power.
(Example: Mages get staves and warriors can use one handed weapon and a shield or a two handed weapon aside from the main char that can use any weapon and be trained in different classes) If an upgrade system is put in place you would need to find ingredients needed to upgrade said weapons like maybe Pristine Wood for staves and broken metal for swords and shields and heavy armor depending on playstyle.

These are just thoughts I feel could make the game a bit better and not alter too much but then again I know next to nothing about coding stuff for anything. Just take my words with a grain of salt and either like or don't.

I thought the Dhaal bars managed to convey quite a lot about the world and had interesting characters, it's probably the best use of generic settings to tell a worlds story so far in TiTs. A lot of that games shop keepers have stuff going on too. The tour of the winter city is great and I feel like that sorta wholesome delivery is right up my alley...but would it have been better if those were all locations we could explore ourselves?

I'm not sure if Dhaal would of been better as basically two corridors and a tour giving a summary of the location. The winter city is efficiently written certainly but I have a much better personal feel for what Dhaal is like to live in and what the Zaika are all about then the winter city and it's elves.

I'm the kinda person who loves the kind of content the winter city tour delivers and even I think the winter city feels empty and lifeless.
