I personally just want to see her grow as a character. For everyone else we have gotten a fair deal of character development on. Cait has just kinda always been the hoe who jumps on the first thing with a dick between its legs in eye shot.
yeah, more focus on her best friend aspects would be amazing in my opinion. emotional closeness, not romantic or sexual
For me personally, I can't see any romantic developement with Cait if she stays the way she is because in my mind I'll never be okay with what she does. So I also think developing the friendship route is the best choice for her imo.
Doesn't Cait have the most content out of all the companions? Maybe besides Ryn.
Plus she is the only companion that get extra dialogue when you face cultists. Thinking about it none of the other companions really has any reason to fight against the cult.
When you look at the raw mass of content a character brings, and not just the number of sex scenes in a character's "bone down" menu, no, it's definitely Kiyoko who has the most. She's got shared scenes with...I think every character in the stump, except maybe the merchant and Tetsuya (haven't gotten around to him yet)? I can't remember that one. On top of that, Kinu is part of the Kiyoko content. Not to mention the one-time events, like the wedding, head-patting ceremony, etc. Despite having nothing to do with the rest of the companions, Kiyoko definitely buries every companion in terms of raw content.
Ryn is in second for sure, followed by Cait when you count the temple building stuff and the characters that brings to the table who wouldn't exist without her. Brint/Brienne may end up rocketing up to take spot #2 if that next expansion to the family ends up being as meaty as has been rumored though. They're already definitely the most content-heavy companion after Cait.
Barring the fact that they are responsible for bringing demons into this world who intend to literally fuck the souls out of all living things, they're still a bunch of fuckers who have been performing sacrifices and other shit for god knows how many years. Quite a reason to hate them and want to kick their asses.

Am I the only one who reads all her content w/her dad and the temple and the literature talk in Khorminos etc? Granted I'm working on a submission so I dig for Jassira lore, but I've never thought of Cait as a "hoe." She feels fairly "fleshed-out" to me compared to a lot of characters. I mean, I guess compared to like Brint/Brienne (wsan, you are a saint) or Ryn (who has so much content I'm almost as tired of her as the kitsune tbh, lol), maybe, but you really gonna say Cait's less developed than, say, Quin or Atugia? I get a bad feeling "character development" means "stops fucking other people even though I won't."

Quin does actually have a lot of interesting things about him. As long as you bring him to face the cultists, of course. If you don't include him in that stuff, he can't really go through his journey, since a lot of him is defined by having previously been a part of the cult and being angry towards it. I don't think he has quite as much content as Cait, but he does have a fair amount of development and content.
Atugia does need a lot more though.
Agni and Viv need more content, Cait has way more than most of the companions. I like Cait as a healer but other than that I found her boring (no offence to whoever her writer is), I'm not interested in her father nor the temple. The only reason I did the temple once was for Kas content.

the holiday hussy scene is one of my favorites in the whole game, and Quin's butthole is my primary quest for this game.
I hold my nose through waifus that leave me drier than chalk just to get items, you can literally just ignore Quin, let me eat dammit

People who don't like Cait being open with others confuse me, monogamy for thee but not for me. I don't get it.
You get plenty of that...power fantasy I guess? with other characters and companions already to a ridiculous extent in this universe.
And I kinda feel like Cait is the most well rounded character it's just you're not 100% the focus of some of it. She's got a goal, she's got a job, a faith and stuff going on AND she'll drop it all to pay attention to you on request.

I find it hard to NOT take the monogamy route in this game, as of late.
I no longer enjoy meaningless seggs...
Mainly because it feels unfair to, as you say, expect your partners to be just for you, while you bang anything that moves
And I'm worried, even if it's impossible in this game, that I'll be punished in some way for being in more than one relationship.
I experienced it before, and the way things went down absolutely broke me.
Either that, or characters are put in a dangerous situation just because they're close to you.
Let's remember that this* game goes DARK at times.

Same here, that's why I only wanna do stuff like the orc camp while my character is still single. If I have Brienne at that point, that area is an absolute no go for me.
I visit it, but just to meet them and make friends.
