In fact, you lose more than you gain when you do so.
COngrats, you have figured out how corruption content should work.
Speaking of doing not so nice things, we should be able to put the kitsune in their place. We had them on their knees, they have lousy attitudes, and are overall a blight to society if you really think about it. I see no reason why someone roleplaying an impatient, hardened, champion wouldn't do it. Is it because it's evil? So what if it is? It's corruption, in what should be a corruption based game, right?
Hey another shot! More people wanting to murderboner the kitsune.

Just a random thought that I thought would be interesting. I normally end the Behemoth because I'm not interested in his content and there is no way to purify him, but what if we could take a page out of the Marefolk handbook and create a Barley concoction strong enough to turn him into a her (same as marefolk) with some of their faculties returned? Now that's something I'd like at my Wayfort.

That would be an interesting combination of existing lore.

Writing compelling and equal corruption content is kinda hard given corruption is the main villain.

You'd kinda need a whole other game running parallel where you join Kasyrra or usurp her. The hornet hive is a good example of what I'm trying to articulate here in that to be a corrupter in this situation you just turn up and do nothing basically. Kas has already corrupted them, all that's left for you is to stop the only two people who are trying to help. All the sex scenes are still there but it's not exactly satisfying to just preserve the status quo.

Corruption's not really my thing though, I feel like it can only ever really play out in one way for a game like this, that lady baker character in khorminos over and over again so my read on it is probably wrong.

I don't know how others see it, but when i mentioned "corruption content" what i actually meant was "manipulative bastard of a PC takes full advantage of the crisis to attain power and influence", because I feel like it's a potential narrative direction that has alot of untapped potential.

That's not at all how it should work. When putting choices into a game, nothing should ever come down to Choice and Worst Choice. Even if you only get unique sex scenes from it. There needs to be a point in doing Corruption > Pure just as much as there needs to be a point in doing Pure > Corruption.

The corruption of the Hornet Hive comes close to being a very pointless choice for the player, and the only other one I can think of that's more pointless is the corruption of Zo. There's literally not enough content to make the Zo one worth doing (it's literally Choice vs Worst Choice). I don't have a Pure Champ far enough in to have control of the Wayfort. But if the Hornets still gift you the same stuff even if they're pure, then that choice barely manages to squeak by as having a point.

Did I ever bully you on the playground in a past life or something? You ever realise once in your life that maybe people can dislike/criticise stuff you like? Mindblowing, am I right? Anyway, @Verro and @CroqueMonsieur make good points about what corruption should be. You should probably read them once whatever mist in your eyes that makes you embarassingly irritable clears off.

Furthermore, if there are a lot of people not liking the kitsune. Maybe it's a problem with the kitsune?

IIRC, You are referring to Milly, that wyld elf. I remember it really not needing too much on your part to "corrupt" her like jizzing on her cupcakes 5 times or so before repeating the new choices when they popped up. I think that's the only one I'll indulge in since there's minimum corruption required.

Oh I know people can, its just common that when people dislike kitsune they seem to always word it in wanting to murderhobo them.

More Gwyn contents. Maybe even some content that will actually include cuddling after sex. Contents like those could happen if you have someone take over Gwyn's shift for a while or at least a week or two if you want Gwyn to yourself more often, like a threesome with Gwyn and Drifa.

At current moment is definitely makes a lot more sense to crack down corruption than support its spreading.
Corrupted discussion bring more cons that pros. Less of own content and makes a lot of other content inaccessible.

While I think adding versatile content is definitely a plus, in the case of corruption it requires a special approach. You can't just add a "fuck it, start corrupting!" button. In coc1 the world was practically in a state of post apocalypse with islands of civilization in a sea of corrupted flora and inhabitants. One town and maybe a couple settlements, and the occasional loner trying to survive, that's it. So adding a little more corruption didn't change the overall picture. In the case of coc2 we have a fully functional and living world, although the main actions of the game unfold in a very remote region. Still, the spread of corruption should have a great impact on everything. The settlement cannot be surrounded on all sides by growing corruption and the folks don't notice anything. I'm referring specifically to the corruption that spreading specifically by the champion.

And the list of accomplishments of the champion would look strange:
1.Helped out here, all rights.
2.Eradicated corrupted ones there.
3.And here I fucked up everything intentionally.
4.Helped eradicate corruption.
And so on.

The most likely way to do this properly seems to be create a separate storyline, where the decisions corrupting something will line up into related events rather than just the champion being jerk time to time . Clearly this will require a monstrous expenditure of time and effort. So I'm in favor of the faster development of the story in the direction of the "good guys", instead of adding separated corrupt events who are just here, in a vacuum.
We're the fucking champions after all! We're the ones who should be corrupted!

Huh?

These are in games all the time of course some choices you make are going to be worse then others.
It's a problem there too. Sure something being worse can be fine. But there's a difference between worse and pointless. Despite the jank, Piranha Bytes usually does a good job at this. I'll use one of their lesser games as an example - Risen 2. When given the choice to side with the Natives or the Inquisition in that game, the Natives are agreed upon to be a worse choice than the Inquisition. But joining them isn't pointless. The benefits, while not as powerful, are still there and so is the reactivity to this choice.

I think the issue with the corruption in this world is willingly choosing to be corrupted is pretty much going full murderhobo with how clear-cut being corrupted is equivalent to becoming rather sociopathic and only caring about your own desires in this setting. People turning corrupted either makes them mindless slaves to pleasure, or their obsessions from when they were un-corrupted get dialed up to insane levels at the expense of a lot of other things they may have used to care about, which often translates to a loss of all moral reasoning.

As the champ PC is a bit of a blank slate in terms of their personality and true desires, it's hard to give them an 'obsession' that will be consistent outside of a handful of scenes specifically written for it, so what does exist is pretty much 'muahaha I am going to ruin everything because I feel like it and let the bad guys win this round' during major dungeon moments (citing the beehive choice in particular here), which is always tonally inconsistent from just about all the other open world interactions the champ has. So interest in writing further down those routes kinda dried up.

As it is now, for the champion PC, getting corrupted in that manner makes the most sense in bad-ends only (which can be good when well-written, and easier to pull off as it's just a big "what if" that doesn't need to be followed up on, but it's still one-off dead-end content), or going full sith lord murder-hobo, which just isn't that compelling to write or read for the majority of the writers or audience here from what I recall. Dunno if there was an actual poll or that was just hearsay a few years back though.

I want a two-handed catalyst that is an instrument like a guitar or a violin so I can actually play a bard rather than whatever the fuck current Charmer is supposed to be.

On that matter can we please get a total Charmer overhaul, I feel like it's the weakest designed class overall after White Mage.

First time ever snipping
But here's the thing, I'm certain the idea of evil has already been around before Kasyrra and the other demons showed up. Meaning you still have your soul in the literal sense (metaphoricaly, probably not). I don't think Tollus is a demon, and I'm sure he doesn't have the "lawful good" allignment either. Even if you lose your soul if you submit to your dark desires all the time, there's always self-control. You can still be evil and control your impulses as well. Caring about your own desires and acting on them all the time are very different things. Besides, choice matters. I'm sure some people here were feeling the same way when interacting with the kitsune. Like: "Man, why is my character letting these people walk all over them?"

The thing about choice is that you are free to decide what you want to do. You are in control here. If you wanna make your character a righteous person, you can. If you wanna make your character a sly, manipulative person, you can. Even if you wanna make your character a straight up murderhobo, you should be able to no matter how "boring" it is. Am I 100% comfortable playing as an evil character, of course not. In fact, if I were somehow transported into COC2, I'd try being the lawful good character. But what I am saying is that the choice to be good or evil should exist, otherwise instead of an RPG you'd be playing an interactive book.

Honestly, there's no reason corrupt has to equal murderhobo. Have any demons even murdered anyone in-game? Kas hasn't other than her backstory IIRC.

Let people be a dick. Where we are now, basically my corrupt PCs are only corrupt because they let the wrong people cum in them. Let me manipulate people, that would at least explain why I'm marrying all these horsepeople I'm not attracted to: to quietly consolidate power throughout the Marches. All I need is to get the Minotaur king hooked on this pussy and pretty much the entire map is mine.

Or even just let me have a spine more often. Sorry Kiyoko, I only fucked you because your god guilt-tripped me, I'm not into you like that, back off. Hey every Marked Merc I see in town sometimes, stop fucking attacking me in the foothills, the fuck is your problem? Next time I'll make it so your uterus isn't the only malfunctioning part on you. Hey Alraune that I ostensibly control, get your kids to stop ambushing me or I'm gonna have to start weeding. I could go on.

I grew up playing Ultima. From IV on, you were the Avatar of virtue, the most righteous in the land.... and every game still let you rob the bank, rip off blind shopkeepers, lie for your own convenience, and murder Lord British for funsies. You could easily get a spell to wipe out all life. Sure, you ain't gonna beat the game that way, and some of your actions would make your party turn on you, but you could do it. And it was awesome.

I find it odd that people equate corruption with killing, especially as the game doesn't show that's the case. Rather, it goes along TiTS' or CoC's approaches on selfishness. Or, as Furiae noted, having sex with the "wrong" people or in "wrong" ways. As much I like Fengames, I dislike "if you follow your smutty interests, you'll be done for" or "(kinky) sex is evil" approaches. I do aknowledge it seems to be a way to "punish" players for being selfish. Which could be seen as a way of power play, I guess.

More feline tfs. Like how TiTs has a whole bunch of variations of animal tfs variations like Hellhounds, Dragonnes (draconic cat), Nekomatas, Lions (for both genders), three different Draconic tfs, Hyenas, etc. We already have Catfolk, Catmorph and Leothrans; with the Leothrans basically being Sabrecats. I would just like more variations like Lions, regular Tigers, Jaguars, Panthers, Leopards, Cheetahs, etc. You could even add some of those variations to the Catfolk tfs, just adjust some of the transformations in case someone wanted to look similar to Catfolks but with leopards or jaguar's spots or a full Catmorph of that species. And I know that you could probably just use the Save Editor to adjust the specific color and patterns of your PC's appearance but it still somewhat doesn't feel the same when the game is not saying that you "are" of that species instead of feeling like a knock off variation of it.

I remember after playing COC, I realised how metal it can get with some of the dark stuff you can do. In fact, you could even do questionable/brutal things for a noble purpose too. That nuance illuminated the differences of corruption between COC and it's sequel. I feel that COC had the better idea of what corruption should be, to be honest. That being said, I think of COC as the Morrowind of porn RPGs (I haven't played a lot of them, so that opinion may change later). In the beginning of both games I was struggling like hell when I didn't know what to do. But once I did, I had an epic time. I even enjoyed replaying it over and over again, trying out all sorts of stuff with the transformations. Hell, I actually like the kitsune there. They're fun.

I'm gonna come clean when I say that I enjoyed COC more than COC2, even if I played COC2 first. There are some things I feel that COC2 does better, but overall COC just does it for me more. It felt great figuring shit out, albeit with some help (thanks @Kesil). Once you know what you're doing, level up, get appropriate perks and gear, maybe transform if you feel like it, the title of champion and savior is actually earned. Simply fantastic.

I really feel like COC did pure content better. I mean really, you could be the hero of your dreams in COC, save everyone and purify everything. It was so much better.

I would like to see more pure content. Let me save some orphans just because I can and get nothing for it beyond the satisfaction of making the world a better place. And while we're at it, can I please help Garth tend to the inn? And don't even think about having it be a paying job, I just think he needs the help and Jae isn't doing any real maid work, let's be honest. Oh, and some missionary sidequests for Sanders would be great, where you can bring food, clothes, and other necessities to those in need. And perish the thought of rewards! A good deed is its own reward!

It's about time we get COC2 on track to being as great as COC1, fr fr.

Man, am I really one of the few people who thinks CoC1 was nothing to write home about?

It was my first Fenco game, might I add, and I didn't quite like it: getting used to the UI alone was rough.

CoC2 >>> TiTS >>>>>>>>>>> CoC1.

Also:
CoC2 is its own thing, it's not CoC1, never will be.
Comparing them in X or Y aspect is pointless.

(Half expecting to get boo'ed for this)

Only a minority thinks CoC1 is better than CoC2. It's probably because it's free roam sandbox feel but honestly that made me dislike the game more. The minimalistic UI with no sense of direction of what's happening or what you're even doing also didn't help. CoC1 is honestly more akin to a Clicker Game with random bits of erotica added in rather than a Visual Novel.

not related to current comparison conversation

Things I'd like to see added: more corruption events (and by corrupt I mean demon corruption), the ability to corrupt your party members/other NPCs. Incest (hard no to underage incest but several races in the game the kids grow up fast, so add incest events for kids to want to get down with their parents as adults, looking at Kinu especially.)
