The Void. Where light doesn’t dare to follow the dark. Where time is irrelevant. Not many beings reside in it, and yet, those that do are transient, and fickle. Such a being, formed into existence, breaching the darkness with piercing light, yet casting no shadows, even as it bobbed to and fro as a sprite-like creature. As it had done once before, it led a poor, unfortunate soul from it’s natural plane of existence.
Although, this one, was entranced, their body barely able to keep up, showing signs of exhaustion as it leaned upon a worn, simple oak staff, eyes glazed over, fixated on the Being as it continued to lead.
A tear formed, and the sprite all the happily bobbed through it, pulling it’s weary victim out of the Void, and into the cool breeze of air, the rustle of branches, the sway of grass in a warm summer breeze. Sunlight breached the canopy high above as the Sprite bobbed out of the rift, it’s “passenger” following mindlessly, and collapsing as soon as the rift shut behind them.
The Sprite bobbed around in a circle above the Gryphoness happily, believing it was able to breach the world scott-free. That was, until. The crunching of grass underfoot. The Sprite seemed to spin around, only to see an odd Diamond Dog stepping out from behind a tree, one paw on the tree’s trunk, the other hidden behind it’s back. Wearing a long-coat, short fedora, and staring down the sprite with a smirk and steely eyes. “Well well. I was wondering what was up!” He stated with a chuckle.
The Sprite, snapped out of its stupor at being caught, turned, and bolted away-before being stopped by another canine. However, on all fours, this one was taller, metallic, and yet more intimidating as it stared the Sprite down with a glare. The Sprite, for all it’s power… Turned, opened a tear, and booked it right inside.
The ‘Dog, dashed over to the Gryphoness, and brought his arm up, a spectral gauntlet forming in a near instant, and the sound of a camera shutter going off rapid fire as the tear closed. With a shake of his head, he looked to his partner as he trotted over, leaning down to sniff at the unconscious Griffon. “Female. Young.” Varg toned in as his partner stepped away, before crouching down and rolling the young lady onto her back.
The ‘Dog hummed as he raised the gauntlet, positioning the Gryphoness as if she were lying on an examination table, and putting her staff to the side of her, before taking a few photos. Head, torso, lower body, a picture of the staff, and then a picture with both in the frame. He then sent them in a message to a certain Necromancer, before linking a comm to said necromancer, kneeling back down, and checking the Gryphon’s pulse.
As the call connected, he smirked slightly. “Hey dad. Before ya start, It’s a she, and she’s alive,” He began, leaning over and putting an ear to her chest. “...Breathing,” He stated, before moving his head and hand, opening one of her eyelids, and shining a light in her eye, watching the pupil constricting. “...And, far as I can I tell, nothing wrong with her eyes. Small ball of light or something, same thing that dropped my ass off in Appleoosa. Want me to bring her in for questioning?”
