I see the first playable build for that is out now.
Yes, we've been pleased with the reaction and we're hard at work on the second build!

Whats crimson grey
Crimson Gray is an adult VN that I created as a side project. The finished version is being playtested by patrons and I'm commissioning some final details like a custom GUI, then it will be released commercially. Hopefully soon, but I'm focusing on TLS and KoD for now.

Good so far, though I think for time-management to work well as a gameplay element there needs to be some indication of how much time you have available.
Now I'm a full member of the tribe I hope I can help train the hellhounds.

Where is most of the discussion of KoD taking place?

I have a new completed game out! I'll put an image and the synopsis here, but you can find out more information at this public Patreon post or the game's page. It will be available in all stores in two weeks, but currently it is exclusive to Nutaku.

YouTube Trailer:

Synopsis

John is a young man suffering from severe depression. As he loses his sense of purpose in life, he begins to see the world in unfocused gray. Just when he begins to lose all hope, John meets a girl... a very special girl.

Though Lizzie appears affectionate and devoted, it quickly becomes clear that she's so violent and unstable that a normal boy would run away from her. But when John sees her, he sees someone else suffering from a mental condition. John is willing to risk his safety for a chance to help Lizzie gain some mental stability. Lizzie is willing to murder everyone in school if she believes it would make him happy.

Your every choice will impact both characters' mental states, changing their fate. John might reject Lizzie, succumb to his depression, or die violently. Lizzie might lose control and ruin her chances, or become obsessed with shadowy conspiracies that may or may not exist. Or just maybe the two of them might be exactly what the other needs, and their story could end in happiness...

Crimson Gray is a psychological thriller, exploring the psyches of the characters and the strange circumstances that brought them together. It has a focus on subtle actions having consequences, your choices impacting the characters' mental stability in ways that could make choices down the line have very different results.

TLS Update

I am still aiming for Friday, July 7th. This update will be larger than normal and may require more bugtesting. Meanwhile, I hope Crimson Gray will tide you over!

Great Story Sierra !!!!
The whole story approaches step by step the edges of paranoia but the happy end is so much rewarding :)

Will ouroboros show up on steam

I doubt it since Steam isn't all that enthusiastic about porn games (visual novels aside), but who knows really, they've been green-lighting all sorts of games recently. Would be nice if Sierra earned some more mainstream appeal/notice for all her hard work.

"Alright so I got two games going but I also decided to just real quick write up an entire VN, just cuz, alright peace"

Geez, most people fail miserably with this much whimsy.

lol I don't think Sierra is doing this alone, think she's got a team she works with in order to put out these games just like how Pervy Fantasy Productions work.

AFAIK she does the writing and coding herself, only Hreinn Games is a team (with Nomo, who is an artist). She has mentioned management tasks (contacting vendors, etc) eating into her creative time.

On Ouroboros and Steam: I don't intend to place it there. Too much of it is default RPG maker, and Steam really hates that. Steam does seem to have a more open policy on games with adult content, though, so I hope that Crimson Gray can find a new audience there. Around forums like these, I think everybody kind of knows me and has formed their opinions by now.

On teams: It's mostly just me. All Hreinn stuff is co-created with Nomo, and of course I commissioned the art for Crimson Gray. I did get someone to handle some business stuff, but I can't justify hiring them full time, so management stuff is still eating up more of my time than I'd like. But all the writing/design and most of the coding is just me with my nose to the grindstone. TLS has gotten sprite and coding help from supporters, though, and I'm very grateful for that!

I love what I do and I really, really want it to work as a career. ^-^

Version 0.28.0 has been released to patrons! This is an extra large release that covers the majority of the war, so there's quite a lot going on.

Your characters will be split up over the continent, negotiating with all the factions in play and making decisions that will impact the end of the war. As those who can look under the hood will see, variables to calculate collateral damage and other consequences have started counting up...

Unlike the Battle for Yhilin, the plan goes off the rails at multiple points...

Expect to see some long-promised showdowns:
nfSNlrx.png

But unlike the Battle of Yhilin, the entire update won't be intense events. You'll also get a chance to explore new areas - for example, the first town you've seen deep inside the Incubus Emperor's domain:
AnsZshj.png

And some old characters and locations that haven't been seen in a long time show up as well:

Overall, I want to give this war a real sense of scope. This will be the broadest conflict in the entire game, at a larger scale than previous battles.

Due to the length and complexity of this update, I can't promise it will be out in the usual exactly one week. There are a lot of calculations going on underneath the surface, and I want to make sure they're all correct and well-balanced before I release the update publicly.

Unrelated, if you were waiting for Crimson Gray to appear on MangaGamer, the preorder page is now online. I'm still mostly looking toward the Steam release, but definitely use MG if that's your preference:

I'm going to make a guess on 1 thing:
That screenshot where the Incubus Emperor says something about a punch is probably the Empty Armour acting as a distraction.

In this case, not so much. We are already very advanced in the creation of the new page* (this time around most of the grunt work is done by Whismas), that will detail the content of this update (we were working with the idea of the public build being released yesterday). Other things will take a bit more time but, as I had said, the new page will be ready on Saturday.

*It will be similar to the Yhilin Battle Guide, with a lot of under-the-hood information.

Believe me, I didn't want the dates to fall out this way either. I hope that once you see the length and complexity of this update you feel the wait was justified, though!

First I'll fuck around and see how it ends.
Then I'll go back and see about doing an optimal run.

Then I'll keep the first run to keep playing in.

Alright, everyone, newest version is on the blog!

https://the-last-sovereign.blogspot.com/2017/07/tls-0280-public-release.html

As a reminder: I might make retroactive changes to this section to balance the entire war, once I finish the next update. So if you definitely want to play only once, maybe wait a little. Having said that, this update has loads of new content for everyone to play!

0.28.3
- Yet more polishing to war calculations.
- On Yarra's route, the variable "Empress Approval" now works properly.
- The Kingsmen and Queensmen bars now have more variability throughout chapter three.
- Flower Speculation investment now removed from ledger after the reunion.
- The Dusty Horde and AriGarda are no longer listed in the ledger after taking over Yhilin. The Iron Cudgel remains, however.
- Since some people were unclear on this, rewrote dialogue to make it completely unambiguous when the Dusty Horde is destroyed.

In addition to more balancing and getting feedback from players, I used this week to finish off some old bugs and minor issues that had been low priority while I was rushing on new content. These are not a big deal, but I do try to go back and polish whenever I get a chance.

That's all for now, enjoy the release!

Played it yesterday when it came out, and forgot to post my reaction till now. Anyway, twas good and long section, sooooo many decisions and variables to consider and we're only 2/3 of the way through the war! :toot:

Hmm, I'm not gonna bother with an optimized play through until the war's end and its immediate aftermath are in. I do like how choices that hurt us back in the set-up for the Battle of Yhillin help us now.

Will wait and see how things go from here, but will say kicking the Incubus King/Emperor/Duke/Superkings ass was most fun.
