I'm pretty sad to hear that Embry will never be finished as well as the Sacae never being created and added to the game. I don't really get the absolute abandonment either, though truthfully with how much time he spent on here I often thought his wife must be a goddess so there's that. Along with Kaizer I thought of Jim as one of the "internet strangers" I most got along with and one of my best "forum buddies".  This all really has my head spinning, especially with how curt his goodbye was [sorta sounded like he was mad at us all].

A fair point towards the end but at the same time it's very hard to read tone via text and for all we know he just didn't want to get bogged down with people trying to beg him to stay, however well meaning. Maybe he was mad, maybe he was just trying to make as drama free a break as possible, we won't know.

And I'd like to say this will be the start of a new "Can you write this character pregnant" to the remaining devs for I think the upteenth time now -_-  (I'm not ashamed of my fetishes, but I'd feel less awkward if there were less rabid beggars among those that like them.)

His unfinished work is quite saddening however if he was mad at us Im sure he would tell us. [Right?]

I was pretty dismayed to bumble onto this thread, to say the least.

JimT must be a cloud, because he is going to be mist.

Damn, man, this is thoroughly saddening and unexpected.

Best of luck going forward, man. Wish you the best.

He clearly wants to make a clean break. It's better to be curt and final in this sort of situation than to hold out some false hope of a return. Even when he's crystal clear you've got someone on here going "B-but what about the 100 page expansion pack for muh waifu...?"

Anyone who knows something about writing on here knows that successful projects octopus out into expansion packs, and then other ideas, and then commission work... it never ends. At some point you've got to look at yourself and say "Do I want to be writing porn interminably for a lousy/non-existent return?". I suspect he'll have seen the completion and addition of the Res Deck as a good place to call it quits, a fitting enough epitaph since it's intended as a platform for others to use for their own NPCs. He's got vastly more self-discipline than I do. A better all-round creator and person this site is unlikely ever to have.

It's truly sad to see you go and leave, but that's life...

Wish you only the best of luck moving on foward in life and a bright future ahead for you and your Wife, Jim! You'll still definitely be missed around here....

Well, this is genuinely quite sad, you were responsible for most of my favourite content in the game.

Sad to see you go, but good luck with your other writings. We'll miss you!

See you later Jim, you have certainly given us some of the best content in TiTS!

Now to sit in my sad corner and holding onto the false dream of a finished Embry....

This is my first and (knowing me) probably my only time posting in the forums, but I just wanted to thank you for creating pretty close to all of my favourite TiTs characters, with Embry being my unchallenged #1 since her release.

It's a shame to see you go, Jim, but thanks again and all the best to you.

It's a sad, sad day for all the connoisseurs of undiluted, unapologetic and deliciously sappy romance in TiTS. Maybe that's pure emotions talking, but right now I can't remember any other content creator here that explored themes and tone quite similar to non-fetishistic aspects of what Jim had delivered.

I hope that those mysterious RL people and the readers of your 'real writing' would be appropriately grateful for what they get.

Now to begin second guess every piece of fiction we stumble upon over the Internet.

I mean, on the plus side I can start writing the "Murderfuck Embry" and "Napalm the Vanae" xpacs now.

To be fair, the latter seems like an almost sane thing given some parts of the 'going native' Vanae Bad? End.

The whatnow?

The wiki isn't very unhelpful when it comes to being informative at what bad ends there are in game, and I've only experienced two of them.

Was not expecting this when i came to the forum today.  This is honestly a little heart breaking, but in the end I wish you all the best in your future JimT and sincerely thank you for everything that you were able to contribute to the game as they were all favorites of mine.

One of the written (but never implemented(?)) bad ends (or good ends depending on how you interpreted it) is that upon losing to the Vanae enough times, you'd eventually just settle down into a Vanae village and play space breeding simulator for the rest of your life with your new, ever expanding, incestuous Vanae family.

Neat.

Very much so, makes me wonder what about that bad end makes the Vanae worthy of napalm though? It's not like they've done anything particularly worse than other species.

If anything, they're far more innocent than anything else that isn't native to their planet. As they're stone age savages who don't have the tech levels to come up with any atrocities much more complex than the serial attempted/successful raping.

In the PC-is-female-vanae Bad End, the vanae get tired of being pushed around and occasionally abducted, and successfully throw the colonists out of the planet (or at least out of Esbeth).

Therefore they should be preemptively nuked, at least according to Nik_van_Rijn and (presumably) Andrew Jackson. Can't have the filthy natives getting any big ideas, after all.

IIRC, the tribes you lead drive the colonists away by murdering a bunch of them as well as slavers and rushers, and burning down the established colonies, including Esbeth.

Besides, I only said that the scene would kind of make sense, since Nonesuch has done some sort of plantation related Tropico-esque expansion.

I always saw that comment as Nonesuch getting one step closer to the whole business simulator Mhenga stuff he wanted to do, and people were looking way too hard into the napalm comment, but that's just me.

I just remembered Briha and Lys, since Jim has left does that mean they will remain myrellion forever now or will they still be moving to the residential deck?

Nothing more will be written for any of Jim's characters unless someone from the audience writes or commissions it.

That means no Embry, Myr Deserter, etc. expansions.
