Hey, thanks! I am but a humble peasant trying to write about a player character taking it up the bunghole.

Playing the latest build and I went to town on day 7 only to find that my pay is not ready?

In the past it's been ready by day 6.

EDIT;; now at day 13 and still no pay available. Can't afford to buy any food.

EDIT 2;; The Halmsey's Inn scene kicked me from night 13 to afternoon of day 14 and then when the scene's over I'm kicked to the afternoon of the next day. Pretty sure that's unintentional?

Is there any way to go after those guys/go to the constabulary?

Also - "shitpipe"... really? Seems out of place and took me out of the scene.

Hey Scarebear, I'm checking on your issue right now. Do you recall seeing the message about your pay accumulating when sleeping in the cabin? I made some changes to the sleeping script with this last version and I might have fucked something up. It's working on my end right now so I hope it's just a matter of the game chugging briefly and missing the check that's supposed to increase the pay and reset the one-week timer. I'm making some minor tweaks that should take care of the issue.

The time weirdness is also a unintentional, as you say. Not all scenes set the time of day to the intended value right now because I added the time display as a last-minute thing on request from another player and most things in town can be done at any time of day. There isn't a way to continue that chain yet but I'm working on the next scenes for that encounter. It's going to become the second quest eventually so it may hang there like a dead end for a while longer.

As far as the writing goes, I agree with you and I will change it to something more fitting for the next update.

Thanks for your continued feedback!

There was no message. I went all the way to day 15 before stopping.

Alright, in that case I think it should be an easy enough fix unless there's another issue at play. It seems that the game might have lagged or otherwise skipped over a step in the script which I've noticed happening before when running the game outside of the Quest editor.

Hey restarted after seeing the new update. Went to bed after patrolling on the first day and got " You lie down and sleep through the night.Error running script: Error compiling expression '': SyntaxError: Unexpected end of fileLine: 1, Column: 1 "

There wasn't a button for continue so I messed around with the command bar. Typing "go downstairs" got me to a normal screen but it didn't register the day change. Telling me it was Morning of Day 0. It let me go out on patrol again, but the patrol text was the same as the last time. Tried to sleep again and got the same message.

Hey, sorry about that. Accidentally left a line of code in the wrong place and the debugger didn't catch it. Fixed now.

I've recently played the recent build and the changes are well-done. The scenes that were previously blocked by error messages are now accessible and I quite enjoyed some of them, especially the encounter with the Traveler offering a drink, the scene was well-done quite indeed. So far, the only gripes is that I seem to be unable to save the game (using the online ver.). And when I choose to resume, it is of the old build, and will not let me save as well. Second and last is that after I have purchased both bondage items from the store and used them, but I didn't really see a new scene. Was I suppose to purchase them at separate times?

There's an error code when you choose to answer no to the Troll Mother.

Hey LaserSpecter, thanks for your kind words. Saving the game essentially captures an image of the entire game and resuming just loads that image so as far as I know, saves can't be carried over from one version to another without significant manual editing. I can't imagine why it wouldn't let you save online but I'll look into it. I did have an issue once where the online version would resume an old save even when hitting the restart button so it might be related.

As far as the new scene goes, the patch notes were unclear on that point but to trigger it, you should just have to

1) buy both items

2) use both items once each

3) use the bondage gear item again when the creature is available (i.e. sleep once to let the creature recharge and then use the bondage gear). That should trigger the new scene, unless I've made a boo boo again and the debug tool didn't find the problem.

I will double check the troll mother scene in the next patch, there was always supposed to be a yes/no choice there but I only just realized that the scene automatically assumed a positive reply like half an hour before releasing this update so it was a hasty fix.

Was unable to collect my pay again.

And the brook man's necklace still doesn't show up in your inventory. I know you said it doesn't have any effect right now, but I thought you might still add it since I just picked up a gem from killing some goblins.

Same issue as last time, huh? I thought my fix solved the problem but clearly there's something else I'm missing. Sorry about that, it's pretty much a showstopper if you can't collect pay at this point. I'll upload a new version as soon as I find a solution. Same thing for the necklace, that's just a matter of poor quality control on my part as it's an easy fix that I thought I'd already implemented.

I actually downloaded the game for the first time last night instead of just playing on the website. It seems to work a lot better that way.

Couldn't figure out how to save my game though. Every time I tried to save as it gave me a huge error message. Something about failing to save field "trollmother"

EDIT: Is there currently any way to take the Dwarven slave to Nortenborg?

Gah, I thought I had it for sure this time but it looks like I'll have to redo the whole script for counting days and building up pay. Thanks for the reports, guys.

The save error was caused by me accidentally putting a lower case h where an upper case H should have gone which broke a script and crashed the game, that part should be fixed at least. The slave is supposed to automatically trigger a scene where he's returned to Nortenborg on the next day but I've been messing around with the sleeping part so much trying to fix this pay bug that I may have inadvertently changed something in regards to that scene as well, will check on that today.

Starting a new game in version 0.1.12b, I was unable to collect pay.

Is it online or offline? Since the version from Textadventures is working fine for me.

And Sherloco, so far everything seems good. But is the option to blow the Brook man's flute suppose to be cut off? Whenever I blow, the text says this, "You hold up the necklace to your lips and blow softly into the open end. Out comes a". That's all there is to it. Also, one final question, but is the scene where you can tackle someone that's running away in Nortenberg lead up to anything or is it just a moment thing where you can help or ignore it?

Okay, I just thought that it would be a cool scene for public humiliation scene for the PC.

I have something similar in the works for the second quest, not based off of that specific scene though. And, of course, the necklace blowing text has been cut off for whatever reason.

Are you supposed to go on patrol for that to happen? I went straight to town through the map and nothing happened.

Also, is there a way to improve your fighting chance? The last play through I did I lost every battle (so like 4 or 5) which was super frustrating.

Nah, it's supposed to trigger automatically as soon as you go to bed after putting the guy in the basement. It was working at one point but with the cnages I've made to the script, it's probably broken somewhere along the line. I'm reworking the entire sleeping script so I'll fix it up for the next release.

Your fighting chance works on an xp system and you gain xp every time it's used in a scene, no matter if you win or lose. Patrolling also grants a slow increase to FC even when you don't encounter anyone. I'm adding a way to grind for xp in town but constantly losing is just a result of the lack of balancing. I've adjusted the various difficulties in the different scenes a couple of times but haven't received a lot of feedback on the difficulty so it's mostly been to my own taste. There's still a lack of easy fights to help level you up which is something I will have to deal with.

Right now it's basically completely random which scene you encounter (with a few exceptions) but maybe it'd be better if I started splitting them up according to the player's FC? I'll definitely start looking at that and adding in some easier fights, although four or five scenes should be enough to grant at least one FC increase. FC starts at 3 and once your XP reaches 4, it's supposed to increase and tell you that it's done so. The new sleeping script should cover this in case that's also broken.

Thanks again for all your feedback!

Oh, cool! That only makes me more excited for future updates and stuff. As for the necklace, the text is suppose to show more...... Hmmm, I wonder what comes out of it.

Also, I found something else. It seems that when picking the yes option for the troll mother, at the end of the scene (Troll Mother Vanishes) the next page is just blank. No text or continue option, just the bar for typing things. So yeah.

Hey, Sherlocho. Is there any other scenes that are suppose to come after the final glade scene, where you agreed to continue visiting?

No, there aren't supposed to be any other scenes but I see now that accepting incorrectly removes the glade from the map. What's supposed to happen is that you travel there via the map and get a brief generic text saying that you feed the plant. I'll get that fixed for the next update, didn't see it before releasing version 0.1.13 or I would have done it today.

Okay, thank you for replying, since Tentacles are one of my biggest fetishes when it comes to porn. And so, I was hoping for more. Oh well. Good luck on your continued work on the game. Loving it so far. :)

Thanks for the kind words! While I'm certainly open to adding more tentacle content in future updates, it'd probably have to be be as part of a new encounter or a quest since I could easily get stuck writing samey scenes that eventually become so similar that it might as well be one scene repeating endlessly, something I've already found myself doing with certain encounters. Gotta mix it up a bit!

Understood! Also, a simple question. The question has popped up in my mind ever since I started playing the game, but I've always wondered, are you planning on implementing other jobs that being a watchman? Since the last question before the player starts playing is the question of what job do you have.
