Yeah even thou SC history is already around 25 years old WH one history should be still slight longer. But Mengsk ended not so fine been ripped apart by Kerigan psi power from inside xD
Ahh I wonder if Bliz will manage continue SC universe or will make it end for good trying to make some new universe to milk.
I used to love Blizzard, but what you said sums them up perfectly now: "universe to milk." That is what they do now. They have taken Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo, and destroyed them in the name of making money. They used to create good, fun games, that would also sell well, but now they create games to only make money. WoW killed all of the good characters, destroyed every inch of the lore, had to resort to going back in time, and now just magically bring back characters that they have killed off. Starcraft is going the same way, especially with the return of the Xel'Naga, and Diablo 3... *shudder*
There is an old rumor, don't know if it is true or not, the the original Warcraft was supposed to be a game for Games Workshop, about the Empire fighting the Orcs in Warhammer Fantasy. But that just shows you how much older Games Workshop and their properties are, in comparison to other games and groups.
Also, Starcraft is only 19 years old, not 25.
The Tyranids became an official Codex Race in 1993, 24 years ago, and were first created back in 1987, 30 years ago.
This one-shot is a present for
@RanmaChan for helping me be apart of this community. Seriously though not just him, but you guys have been really swell, and even with one of my threads being locked, I honestly have nothing but gratitude as I have never thought that I can actually be a part of something that I can enjoy without feeling left out. Here's something so as not just to exercise my muse, but as I said a gift.
Aww, thanks
@Endwar that really means a lot to me. I am glad I was able to help you find a place here.
The one question I have about your story is that, you, maybe, have the misconception that the people who are consumed by the Tyranids continue on as a part of the Hive? At least, that is the way it seems you wrote it. Unfortunately, as much as I love the corruption aspect, where former allies get turned against one another once one has been consumed by the swarm, it doesn't work that way. They are broken down and their biomass is added and recycled. Once someone is melted down, that is the end of them. But that is where I also love the Zerg, they corrupt rather than just consume.
I love the story though, I always like to see the Tyranids able to go around, destroying and consuming everything in their path! In the end, no one can resist the Tyranids, with every new world they grow more powerful, and with every new species they grow stronger and more diverse.
Hi guys! Another day, another fine time to be apart of this wonderful site! For today I just wanna pitch in on one of my most favorite and controversial chapters. The Black Dragons!
Created as one of the cursed 21st founding, they are basically a chapter of armored Wolverines and Barakas, coating their over active bone-blades into adamantium in order to increase the lethality of their affliction from the Emperor's Design. Though they are afflicted they are no less one of the most fervent of Space Marine Chapters as they dedicated NINE COMPANIES to aid Cadia against Abaddon's 13th Dark Crusade.
Ever since I had the pleasure of reading their book, I find it a shame that because there are no codex around them and their activities are only found in books if you are lucky enough to find them. Its understandable they get the flack that happens to them because of their mutations; but I can never forget the passage where Captain Volos blew up his flamer, just so that his Jump Pack can give him the necessary boost to fling himself into the brain of a gigantic mountain-sized Neverborn called the Doubtworm and using his adamantine coated bone blades carved his way through corrupted Warp-Flesh and out the other side of its cranium!
In short, they are practically a chapter just begging to be purged for the very mutation they possess, and despite sharing a possible common lineage in saurian background, the'yre relations with the Salamanders surprised me that they were tense, yet accepted by the Space Wolves (probably because of the shared mutations and how unstable they are that they can sort of get along with the Black Dragons).
What do you guys think? and do you have any factions that you think is worth mentioning that others might not know?
I like this chapter, and other chapters that have bizarre geneseed mutations. It makes them so much more interesting than 'perfect' chapters like the Ultramarines, the Imperial Fists, and their successor chapters. One chapter that I really like that have a mutated geneseed are the Carcharodons, also known as the Space Sharks. They have pale skin, pure black eyes, and a propensity to become incredibly violent. It isn't really known who the founding chapter was, some people think it was the Raven Guard due some shared features, others think they are connected to the Blood Angels due to their rage. I like to think that maybe they were created with geneseed from the World Eaters.
Though they do kind of share a theme with the Salamanders, I don't think that their chapter was spawned off of them because of just how many casualties the Salamanders took during the Dropsite Massacre, and the resulting fighting throughout the galaxy during the HH. They also don't share any of the other mutations the Salamanders have. Though, I honestly can't think of where their geneseed would have came from, if not from the Salamanders.
Geneseed taken from Salamanders, from what I read there aren't many new chapters created from Salamander's Geneseed since most new chapters geneseed comes from Ultramarines.
Btw... I have a Free gift code for WH40k Eternal Crusade, I don't know very many folks on steam since I friend list is limited to three people lol and the only other person I know of who's into 40k is my brother and he's already gotten a copy of EC.
Ah, you beat me to the punch on the Salamanders and their geneseed. Yeah I completely agree with you, it is hard to believe that the Salamanders were able to create successor chapters, but then again, where did the geneseed of the Black Dragons come from and how did it get it's mutations? I think just calling them 'cursed' chapters is kind of silly. I also have an extra copy of Warhammer 40K Eternal Crusade gathering dust in my Steam inventory, lol.
Stop writing Warhammer fanfiction and start writing porn damnit! Your time is being wasted!
inbr4 "y not do both huehuehue"
I don't have any ideas for porn. Everyone is already working on all kinds of different characters that fill all sorts of different niches, not to mention the number of characters already in the game. I can't think of any new or original ideas that don't already step on another character's toes. That is why I went with weapons, it looked like I could actually do some good there.
Imperial Guard do them staying with the good old fashion style warfare..............it's the large amount of armored vehicles they can bring to the field plus my most favorite character (and right hand man) is part of them, the badass that is Commissar Ciaphas Cain and Ferik Jurgen.
Those are some of my most favorite books, though at times the different situations, how the stories work out, and just the sheer amount of soldiers who actually survive, kind of stretches my suspension of disbelief. Still though, great books that I have read many, many times over, just because the characters are so awesome.
