one more confession: I killed the Alrune more times than sparing her, even though it feels morally wrong.

Oh, I kill the Alraune every time. Best Girl Cait says she gotta go then she gotta go... off this mortal coil.

Honestly I'd never even considered sparing her until now. If there was a quest where you could have Sanders cleanse the plant-core and uncorrupt the plants then maybe I'd keep them around, but 'dominating' the corruption doesn't seem like you're stopping the corruption so much as participating in it.

At the risk of sounding like I sit in a dark corner of a bar and brood while wearing a trench coat, I don't think it's morally or practically wrong to kill her. She's blocking the roads and gives you no reason to trust her. Even if we keep her alive to use her to produce effigies as disposable labor/soldiers, those things are pretty pathetic even as starter enemies. Maybe if sparing her led to a pure Alraune route like Zagzig suggested I'd agree and be conflicted, but as it stands I'm trying to stop Kasyrra, not join her. Bring balance to the land, not leave it in an orgy.

I left her alive because true purification was possible in CoC1 so it's reasonable to assume that it's possible here too.

That said, it IS an assumption, and every time I hear townspeople talking about getting funky with the flower the doubt grows, I can only imagine how awkward my pure champ who barely understand how demon souls work must feel...

When she tells us her story, she turned out the way she did because of Kasyrra, and there could be an entire species of non corrupted Alraunes out there we've never seen. I'd like to believe we could maybe purify her and make her do something nice with the forest (work with the dryads to do something maybeee idk?), but given the fact the wayfort is kind of turning into a place where we hold corrupt beings... i don't know anymore, maybe if someone is willing to write it.

you can also get the colossus from the centaur village in there if he's still alive after you save the centaur village. He's a great fuckbuddy for the Alraune, it seems.

I've never spared the Alraune because all she's made to do is provide pleasure and pump out effigies and there's no real reason to leave her around unless your Champion is also interested in those things. And since the one I've played so far isn't... yeah. Besides, I wouldn't want to be bound to one spot like that either.

I always interpreted the corrupt centaurs/effigies still attacking you as stragglers/defectors respectively. The text when you kill her mentions that the Effigies scatter and all, and since not all the centaurs return to the fold under Taldahs, I never had any issues with it.

Whenever i read stuff like this i can't help but remember Paarthurnax's speech about overcoming your nature...

Since i play pure champions all the time, i do feel compelled to kill the alraune, but can never bring myself to do it.

I've only killed her with my Warrior who was all 'Corruption is Evil and must be destroyed, no exceptions' right up until that didn't go so well with the end of Harboring a Fugitive and now she's rethinking that black and white stance. Oh, and my White Mage because though he didn't know it at the time his virginity was being saved for Evelyn's pleasure.

Everyone else has let her live either on the grounds of 'I feel bad for her, she was tricked by Kasyrra' or just 'Plant-MILF with tentacles? Yes please!', including the ones who are running in the 'Pure' end of the corruption spectrum.

When I am playing as a female/cuntboy character, I usually just pick one/two character to who I am going to bear their children. It is mostly Arona. Sometimes Evergreen/Berwyn/Brint. I just easily get attached to my first mate, that I can not think of really giving myself to rest of wonderful people. What usually sells me to a person is them showing care for me and my children during the pregnancy. While Brint and Berwyn are sweet, when dominant arona does it, I just melt. Even when I am carrying, lets say, a struggle snuggle baby, I just can not help but swoon over her. Especially when she offers her lap and then compares me to fertility Goddess and shows of her more softer yet still possessive side. Maybe I just have a bad case of Stockholm Syndrome. Yeah probably.

When the scene where Garth goes papa wolf mode after finding out Gwyn's pregnant again, and threatens to sic garret on you I just wanna laugh. Garret doesn't scare me, Gwyn does. When first asked for the sexy times, she responds by vibrating in place and leaps from a sitting position and the player can't dodge her. I'm more scared of an upset Gwyn than I am of her mom with body count or her brother who punches dead things to death. And while I'm on the topic of fear, Kiyoko scares me. Not because she's a powerful mage who can leave scorched craters with a fireball, but because she seems to have a fetish for watching me top or get topped by other people and I fear she will volunteer me for sex. I'm expecting to come across some kitsune orgy and get asked to join in and before I can reply, Kiyoko just says "She'd love to" and then getting drained to death. My priorities are not skewed.
