I actually like the combat system in this game and think CoC2 has potential (at least the system, it'll probably not be very fun to most people without a 3D wrapper around it) as a hypothetical non-porn game (just keep Kiyoko handholding)

champ cannot give halfbreeds, only fullbreeds of the other parent's species. half-mino frost elf bigger than normal frost elf and frankly being pregnant is really uncomfortable so the entire fantasy is stupid in the first place.

I love all the preg content and all the unique kids especially, doesn't really matter to me if they can't be half breeds. It's just the kind of limitation you have to put up with for a game. I guess I just don't place any real weight to how much of my genes are in a kid in real life, I'd be happy to adopt if need be and that carries over into fantasy too.

So either ignore the combat completely and focus soley on the porn game aspect of a porn game keko or,i dare to say, enable some power fantasy in your fantasy game!
I would say the story difficulty and auto combat options are what you're after.

To my knoweledge they have someone devoted just to combat so it doesn't take anything from the development or writing of anything else, there's no point to not developing it and making it more engaging. We wouldn't suddenly get more of everything else if they dropped it entirely.

Personaly never thought that combat was the selling point of this game, so I understand the frustration with their post. I kinda feel the same way too. I've been feeling that the main story alongside corruption should be a bigger priority than combat and sidestory stuff. Also why buff Kasyrra, isn't she already almost impossible to beat?

She was very easily cheesable at one point, being pretty much one-shot with Charge Weapon and Eviscerate using Kunai and the petal. She had to be given crazy buffs after being humbled at her "impossible fight".

Really? Although the idea of leaving Kasyrra as she was, we end up beating her, and the game just ends unceremoniously like this:

would be downright hillarious.

Guys, now that we've brought this up, I seriously want this to happen. It's too funny of an oppurtunity to not meme the hell outta it.

I want a cadre of kitsune and tanuki eagerly clapping and exclaiming "Omedetou!".
Followed by selkies making seal noises whilst clapping.

This is a really minor gripe in the scheme of things, but what is with this game's art and not showing centaur dick?

I know the art is probably hard to fit into the style of portrait CoC2 uses, but we've recently had 2 futa centaur added, with focus placed on their massive dicks and no sign of them in the art (which is otherwise amazing).

Yeah that's basically the issue. Can't really fit a whole centaur in there without really awkward posing or zoom.

Yeah I figured. It's just a shame given the quality of the art. Doubt a full version exists for art like that, but it it does it would be amazing to see in the gallery or something.

Honestly, yes, and it's something I've been thinking about for a while. Race/Class/Background have attribute bonuses just to speed up character creation
Does the team have plans for Background? Other than granting an attribute bonus, I feel like Background has almost no impact notwithstanding small differences like the manticore's training and the like. If Background ceases to grant an attribute bonus, do you think it'll become vestigial enough to remove? Or do you think it's more compelling to expand its role in the game?

There are hundreds upon hundreds of background checks in the game. The Acolyte background alone has about 150 individual calls on it.

(The problem with this perception is that there's no way to tell when it's happening -- we don't have icons pop up to say "Oh, because you're a soldier, you're seeing this text!" It's all handled seamlessly in-line. There's no changing that this late in development but it's something we'll probably address in future games.)

Hundreds and hundreds of checks, but you only get one backgrounds so in the best case you get only 150 times that a sentence of two are sprinkled across millions of words and thousands of scenes and buried among many other sentences.
Unless there is a way to make the background text BOLD or of a different Color, it is too late to fix it.

Sorry if this appears often, but... why are Kitsune xenophobic at all? We see many real life cultures being used in CoC2 as reference, though aside from Kitsune they all seem altered to fit a more acceptable, sexy setting. Aside from broad paint strokes Minoans here aren't like the Romans/Greeks, Orcs aren't Norse, Jassirans aren't Babylon/Egypt. Enough was taken from our history to give some comfort of familiarity, but also freedom from many preconceptions of the past.

But for some reason Kitsune get real life Japan's xenophobia. Despite their culture being already cosmopolitan, considering tanuki and other races (unless it's only tanuki now and the wiki is wrong about half of Old Country being other races than the other two?) in the Old Country are different and the foxes in this situation being minority. It's not like the culture is uniform either. Other races can conform to Kitsune needs, but they don't share them, they don't have vampiric tendencies, the whole courtesy, crime and punishment around indulgence of said tendencies isn't part of their life, unless it's to point "That one, officer". They are different. The colony had to cooperate in great detail with other races during the Godswar and although that leaves just Kiyoko and Komari by now, families would still pass on their tales down the generations, not to mention meeting Elves and other races a lot in the Frostwood.

I just... really wish the whole gaijin shtick was kept to a minimum, since it is what drives a lot of people away from Kitsune (myself included - I feel like I need to remind myself of few bits of content I like to even try and delve into the floofhaus). Most of us love fluffy fox people! And it's not like their vampiric tendencies are a huge turn-off, compared to the huge dollop of thinly veiled disdain and admittedly the feeling like Champion is devoid of spine while in the Den.

There's indeed a lot of them, but their amount varies between game locations. I actually went and counted with Notepad++'s search function how often pc.bg is called during play.

It's taking my entire being to stop myself from replying to a joke by posting a 10,000-word essay on how when watched together with End of Evangelion in the original, non-shittily-translated Japanese, Eva 25/26 is the most poignant, reaffirming work of 20th century animation and not unceremonious at all, oh god I'm unwell :negativeman:

I like you! This was interesting. I dig around with Notepad++ sometimes too. Heads up to those with similar ideas, stick to SEARCHING and not BROWSING, because there are some huge spoilers just chillin' in the code.

Fuckin' A, this was a good post! As you could guess from earlier, I'm not above weebery, although living as an actual gaijin in Japan for 20 years has tempered it. Kitsune are great. These particular kitsune suck. Honestly the way champ's party destroys them in the Evergreen quest, they should have gotten knocked straight into the Meiji restoration and started wearing suits. Or at least singing songs to us like the little girls from Mothra.

I have long mourned that art-wise, Nakano's one of the more fuckable male NPCs, but he's just an insufferable dick for your daughter to maybe marry without talking to you. If after beating his ass, he challenged you again, then came to you a humbled warrior and asked to train with you so he could better protect his people, then maybe soften tf up and become romanceable? That would be an S-tier husbando! But no, xenophobic dumbfucks gonna xenophobic dumbfuck.

If the kitsune were like the actual Japanese, they would evolve following their defeat. They would be excited to show PC their culture, and show curiosity in PC's, to adapt useful bits and improve upon them.

I remember seeing her without armor and thinking "Wow that's pretty much how I imagine Kas' human form looking" and then like 30 min later having the epiphany. Moira did a great job.

I would really love the ability to call Kasyrra out on it if this is actually true
The problem with that is the problem with anything in a game where you have to figure something out. A button being there to accuse her would immediately clue the player into the fact that something's off, even if they hadn't realized before, and having to determine if the player figured out something was wrong would also clue players in to something being wrong. The chef in Prey (the newer one) is really suspect, and you can find things that let you figure out that he's a fake, but the only way to actually act on that in game is to just shoot him in the face and disrupt his questline, since the game can't determine if you figured him out. Same in this situation.

Floof land
The Fluff has a lot of potential.
However, I just don't see them getting a re-write, doesn't matter how many times we talk about it, doesn't matter how badly we want it.

Now, if you guys excuse me, I'll be crying over there.
The best possible way to change their attitude gameplay wise would be something like this:
“The kurokawa den is invaded my dozens of strong demons, the defense corp gets overwhelmed and it up to the Champion of keros and his party to repel the demons all the while helping the injured foxes back to safety. After that’s all well and done the Kitsune see the champion as someone willing to help them despite knowing how they treat the champion.
later they change their attitude to a far more friendly way, but not quite idolizing him just yet”

that’s my 2 cents anyway

how DARE you suggest that The Great Tobs change how he writes the floofs

Just for that they're gonna be 400% more xenophobic and disrespectful and the Champ will only be there to become completley OOC and constantly get dunked on

Hell, the Champ might even get NTRed as Kiyoko gets stolen away!

After all, if Tobs accepts community feedback and changes stuff to be more in line with what people enjoy, he LOSES!

what does he lose? no one knows but him, but he seems to be convinced of it
