What does Quin give to winter wolf?
I did it with a Thief PC and Arona, maxed out Strength, Agility, and Willpower and then drank a Honey Mead. I also had Cait with me but idk if she helped or not. you can get everything in the hold with time to spare.
I know Ryn is good to have to take out the guards on ship quietly. Arona for the drinks cabinet and the rest I get with my champs. I take it you dont mean the ship part?
So, there are 6 events that can give a strike if you don't have the right bonuses. You can have everything possible to get with 3 strikes. If we ignore the champ requirements (Since I play a char without +70% agi or cunning, or either of the relevant BGs), then you can get through only 2 of the 6, via Ryn for the Crew Quarters and solving the puzzle for the Lockbox, without incurring a strike. This leaves you with 1 thing you have to miss out on. You can solve this with using some form of booze that increases your stats, which is annoying to bring to the mission, or with just having Quint. No other way. Arona is also mandatory to get the rewards from some events if you don't have Quint or the background, but she does still incur the strike.

Evidence below:

Crew Quarters (Ryn, Quint, +70% agi champ)
Cargo Hold (+70% cunning champ)
Captain's Cabin (Thief BG, Quint)
Lockbox (Puzzle)
Liquor Cabinet (Slum Rat BG, Quint)
Cupboard (Thief BG, Slum Rat BG, Quint)

So, in all, it's only possible to get all 6 without having the right background by specifically using one of the forms of Mead - Presumably Garth's honey mead for early-availability and convenience, but it's annoying to have to run back there to grab it. The 1 day time limit isn't too damning but also can definitely run out on you. I also just don't like using the alcohol buffs, I find it unsatisfying and weird that the best way to maximize a stat much of the time is to purposefully not invest in it so you can boost it with consumables.
Quint: Technically not required, but for some champs it's him or arona + etheryn + mead, with no other option.

Yeah, true. Also, while I appreaciate the choices in the quest and different outcomes depending on the party, I do kind dislike how you get to circumvent all the chalanges with a right party.

Take me for examle. I have just now finished the winter quest line, and the boat boarding left me feeling underwhelmed since I have accidentally had everything I needed for full success. A thieving background, cunning, agility and arona with me. Nice bit of world and plot expansion still, but I feel like players being able to circumvent every chalanege in quest line if they have right prerequisites seems to extreme of a way to make your choices/build matter.

I still appreciate what the game has done, just maybe next time real it back in a little.

Also, can we make it so that we can finish that quest line without taking Gweyr back home. I personally see no reason to do so since I do not get to fuck the GILF, so leaving her off to die alone seems only appropriate.

Oh, we are cool. As it is known, for there to be tops, there have to be equal amount of bottoms. It is just that since most vocal people of this community are bottoms when comes to guys, you kind of start to wonder "do no tops/doms play this game."

Now of course that is all how it seems. As shown by that steem guy, and by the poll that I made, there are many people willing to top/power bottom guys, it is just that they do not really express themselves since the game itself does not have much oppurtunites to do that. As we have argued past week.

Still, it was nice just hearing someone other than me express my frustrations. And a nice moral boost to finish all the stuff I have cooking up for the game.
I was completely just kidding and adding a gif for dramatic flair lol. I figured we were cool, even with our one disagreement two years ago.

But I get what you mean about being excited about having someone who shares your interest. I remember back in ye olden days before I ever dared considered posting that there was so little desire for male content that it just felt wrong to mention it. Which is part of why I post now- because there are other posters who enjoy engaging with male NPCs.

Also if you make corrupt content (morally corrupt as opposed to demonic-corrupt-score corruption) then, if it isn't an overly large burden, it might be really popular if you add some options to become corrupted too. Like "whoops you drank the potion and now you're the living bridge that brings that happy couple together as they Eiffel Tower you." But also, scratch your own itches first lol.

I'm starting to think Atugia is cursed and any interaction with her should wait for when I completed every others quests in the game. I was doing the quest to fit an armour to Quintillus and suddenly

"Maybe he's still sore from yesterday's training. You did go at him a lot with that shield. Cait saw him and even she was worried despite healing him. Rune was even giving him a massage later, but he was so exhausted he didn't even seem to notice."

I have no idea who Rune is. Is Atugia a clairvoyant that can see the future NPC I'll encounter? But yeah because Atugia always has problem with her dialogues, I stopped talking to her at all and reloaded an older save before having Quintillus as a companion and training him, he's a bit of an asshole and I'm sad I can't boot him out of Hawkethorne now.

Did you do caits temple quest? I think (?)she pops in after that quest as a priestess like cait.

She's not a priestess like Cait and Sally, but Rune does appear once you construct Catte Temple and is working/living there on a temporary basis. If she's mentioned and you haven't done the temple quest, then it's probably a case of 'she's there, you just don't see her' in the same way that there are hundreds of people in Hawkthorne and we only interact with about twenty.

Also, she gives great hugs.

Discount? Hey now, Cait doesn't actually charge you for hugs and cuddles. Rune is the expensive brand that tastes the same but is better because it costs more.

Huh I actually never knew there was that much variation in that particular part of quest guess I'll have to try those combos. Thank you for the info!

I am definitely glad we can save in dungeons now. Shame the update doesn't let us swap party members mid-dungeon run too. Sometimes there's parts where different party members can provide special benefits or unique comments but with only 2 slots there's not much chance to experiment.

Noticed that for some combat encounters the "leave" button in the victory screen is in different positions. Sometimes its the lower right and wants me to hit G, other times its literally the third or fourth option in the top and wants me to hit 3 or 4. Is there a reason why its not uniform across all encounters? Its a minor gripe at the end of the day but still annoying.

Example off the top of my head; In harvest valley the marefolk shamans have their "leave" button on the victory scenes down in the lower right bound to the G key. Also in harvest valley are the lupine archer/warrior duo encounter but in their victory sex scenes the "leave" button is in the upper bar far right bound to the 5 key.

I actually like this because to me it helps create the feeling that the area I'm in is actually a dungeon. It'd be different if there was a waystone or something in the dungeon itself but otherwise it makes sense that you can't just snap your fingers and change out party members instantly.

Totally agree with the saving thing though, much needed for sure.

Game has finally gone too far. Even i can't tolerate such degeneracy!
No, not far enough.

We need the shoulder pats, the subtle smiles from across the room, the courting solely via romantic letter.

Not a direct game gripe per say, but why is there always ONE auto save that refuses to be deleted? XD I don't get it.

That... Actually sounds like it'd be a really fun and unique character and project for a game like this.

At some point your reputation has piqued the interest of some rando in the marches, and they send a letter to the Frosthound and you become pen pals. Space out the letter timings so you actually have to wait between each one to build that tension and your expectations just like how this works in real life. Make some of the player's letters have choices that influence the type of relationship that develops as you write more letters back and forth. Then when you finally meet, sparks fly!

Damn. That does sound like a blast to write, at least to me. Maybe someday I will. lol

This is a cool idea that's sorta already in the game. With the twin rings event when the player rescues Koko the catgirl from slavers she does end up sending the champion a letter later thanking them for their help and everything. The only issue is that she directly mentions that she's going to get married to her boyfriend but beyond that its basically what you're describing. It'd only take a small change in the writing to allow for Koko to be that recurring pen pal character.

On a more comedic note it'd be hilarious if the contents of the letter changed based on silly mode or not. Like if it was turned on the letter could be written in that really old fashioned style. Be like "To my dearest, it has been a fortnight since I last heard from you and my bosom heaves with the weight of your absence..."

I was referring to courting someone through letters before you meet for the first time, period. While her letter is a sweet little one-off thank you for saving her, as far as further letters with her... I don't really see the point of having a pen pal in a porn game that isn't amorous in some way. And just changing her to be single would still ultimately limit you to her and her initial interaction and meeting, which sort of defeats the rest of my mused idea entirely. Basically all the magic of this is not knowing who or what your pen pal is when you start.

In theory the choices you'd make over the series of letters would define the character (perhaps even their gender) and relationship into one of several archetypes like the casual flame, mutual romantic, needy sub, or the (imo overrepresented) dauntless dom. It'd be a hell of a lot of work though.

As I finished writing this, I literally sat on posting it thinking about the idea more for like 15 minutes. Ugh... Fine. I like the overall idea too much to just bury it away. I suppose I can at least start solid concepting this, get a general idea of what the letters will say, and see how far I can get on it before I fully commit to writing and submitting it. No promises, but I'll at least try. lol

Godspeed to you, noble letter enthusiast. I shall be watching your progress with great interest, because you've actually sold me on the idea as well.

One thing that has been getting a bit of an annoyance issue is that there seem to be a bit of a disconnect between various writers as to what constitutes a big or even massive dick in this setting. In COC1 that was for the most part a lot more consistent I felt, that "normal" sizes (4'' to 12'') were basically small as far as that game was concerned and you'd have to go into "improbable body ratio" levels to actually get to huge, but it seems very disjointed in this game between different writers. Some seem to think that Lyla, Eryka, Evelyn and Arona (7'' to 12'' all of them) have "massive" dicks or even "titanic girths" and similar, and other instances seem to more accept that those sizes, while huge for our own mundane world are actually normal to small for this hyper fantasy world and it's Brint (20 inches or so) who has the massive dick. For comparison, the PC in this game can attain an almost 50'' "conjoined twin" schlong potentially through a combination of well hung and centaur pack shenanigans.

Making the situation more silly is that there are a few scenes that don't even bother looking for sizes. Majority of the game, if you show up with a stupid-level dick the NPC will remark on it and then there will be a mention of you not being able to fit it all in, which is great and realistic for anything not magical like a demon or at a minimum Minotaur or Centaur sized. But there's also a portion of scenes that don't care at all, for example I did Lyla's dom cowgirl scene right now, and she never cared that I had x4 times of dick size on her and immediately went mashing hips together, despite realistically speaking that would leave her literally impaled when considering her torso length. Other scenes will do both, and remark that there's no way you can get any further or have the NPC protest, and then knot them anyway at the orgasm. And while Brint or even Kasyrra will remark in scenes if you are getting to stupid levels yourself, others like Meira (24'') will always think she's bigger even if you are very close to twice her size.

It's a bit annoying and disjointed in all, and it's left me most of the time just "settling" for a normal 10-12'' for most characters and then go up to 16-18'' max for "gigantic" characters, but then there's instances like Frost Giants blowjob scene (greys out if you aren't stupid level) or Marefolk Shaman scene (does basically SPH on anything but stupid levels) and a few others that does take into account or even require massive sizes, just further adding to the annoyance. By now I really wish we could have a magic "one size fits all" dick (which going by TF description tentacle dicks should be, but aren't, unless you post-TF pick up size increases they are 12'' and will be treated as such with no regard for that fancy TF description in majority of scenes) that would be "big enough" for all scenes that matter. Fuck, I'd be willing to undertake a massive, grueling and expensive quest for Evergreen if that's what it took.

Honestly, that'd be my dream setup: Nuki Nuts with two Nuki-Knotty Doggy Dongs that just old up into the body out of sex scenes, and be as large as they need to be when it's time :D

Dick size is just like any other fetish. Some authors are into it or willing to facilitate it and others aren't. We're not going to bully writers into making every NPC a hyper dick size fetishist and we're not going to bully hyper out of the game entirely so that things work on a more real-world scale. Nor are most writers going to exclude hyperdongus characters from sex scenes (especially because in a lot of cases that would force them to write special alternate sex scenes just for hyper characters so that nobody is fully excluded from sex with their character).

Characters that aren't designed for hyper fetishism will ignore it. Characters that are designed for it, won't. How is any other solution better?

Well, I agree it would be very nice if there were some way to have a dick you could adjust the size of with magic or a special implant to access scenes that are either hyper-only or hyper-exclusionary without the trouble of running two or more separate saves to split the difference. I mean I'd like to be able to have sex with the Jotun Female but I'm not getting a dick the size of Godzilla's big toe just for one sex scene with a no-name NPC. No thanks.

Pretty much this yes, and honestly if writers aren't into it, err... I'm trying to think of a way to put it more diplomatically and failing, so I'll go the other way; why not just simply leave it out to begin with, or cap penis size at a point where you get a good medium? Because this half-arsing is what's bothering me, not individual scenes. Either commit to something, or leave it out for some other game or medium. Like COC1, which wasn't afraid actually of telling either hypers to go fuck themselves rather than ruin some too-small NPC like Amily and blocking off that content in the process, or on the other hand tell them to come back when they grow up properly like Edryn. I'm good with either way, as long as consistency is shown. Take the Lyla cowgirl scene, if Fleep isn't into hyper content just have Lyla laugh at any dick past XX'' and make a joke about a third leg and tell you there's no way you are ruining her perfect pussy with that thing, telling you to go shrink it down and then either ending encounter or going back to scene selection. And that would be fine, and would be like a sentence worth of extra content fitting her character.

To be clear, I'm not really into hyper content either, when reading sex stories and similar in other mediums if it gets beyond a certain point I actually just nope out in disbelief most of the time. I'm doing it in this game both because I can almost as a gag, because of the fantastical nature of elements in the game, and because of those specific scenes that call for it. But if it's there at least try for some type of consistency if you want the player to maintain any sort of "immersion" if that is even a thing.

EDIT: And also just to be absolutely clear in case any perceived tone makes it seem otherwise, this is a gripe, as per the title of this thread, and an annoyance, as per what I said in my first post, not much more. It's by no means a deal breaker in any way, it's literally just an annoyance I have had for a while, that's it. When it comes down to it I'm good with overlooking it as it is, I'm just wishing I didn't have to.

TiTS does scene gating based on size, and I think CoC2 is much better for not doing that. If the game would be more consistent if players were made to do dick-admin before launching into sex with a character, would it be worthwhile? Call it half-arsed if you want, but as CoC2 is set up, players can have the dick size they want (up to an insane hyper point) and have sex with any character they want. To change the system in search of consistency would be adding more work for the developers, more work for anyone who wanted to write for the game, and more non-sexy admin for the players. At which point adding a one-size-fits-all penis would be a solution for a problem that didn't exist until they tried to standardise dick sizes.

While I agree against the possibility of gating via size, I do agree with Sacremas that there does seem to be some inconsistencies between writers when it comes to size, which can be quite irritating. As well as the lack of acknowledgement of the pc's size in some instances.

Also, not sure why there would need to be any change for the sake of consistency, could just add more variables for scenes, like what William often does with his writing - which I really appreciate.
Although, suppose that's where the inconsistencies come from, it is more work, and not every writer wants to undertake that for every scene - would be nice though for specific instances where it makes sense to do so.

Now i imagine the conversation Savin is having with writers:

Savin: "People have been complaining about inconsistencies with how penises of varying size and girth are referred to. So today we will establish standardized system of penile classification based on girth and length. Starting from tiny and ending with monstrous."
