Ok genuine gripe: Is the PC my character or am I playing a premade character?
So I've seen a couple of messages on the forum and things mentioned in-game and it really rubs me the wrong way that both writers and Devs will bend your character over and assign them traits you have no control over especially when they're already written as a blob. Like, why is my champ Pansex n Poly? Why wasn't that in the character sheet as a choice when I was creating them? Why does my character choose not to have sex with Cait and want to get to know her to even consider the option for sex but is willing to fuck a demon from hell on sight or ppl he/she just beat up?
The consistency is just all over the place.

I feel like you're weirdly hung up on the Cait thing. The answer why you can't sex her immediately when you talk to her is that one of the devs decided to make it like that at first, and no one bothered to change it.

I do agree with the premade thing though. Feels like the game really wants me to be a couple with Azzy even though I'm not interested in her like that and just wanted to save her hive.

I figured that but then I realized the habit of forcing traits on the PC continues down the line well into the game. When PC gives Lyric "the talk" when they first meet and they explain how they do relationships I was like "I don't subscribe to any of this shit I just do as I please; why would you set yourself up like this as a writer? why would you set this landmine up and step on it?"

It's weird, man, I really don't understand why they didn't just commit to a path. RPG PCs usually come in three architypes:
The Amnesiac - had past and establish character but is a blank slate by the time the player meets the character, this is a classic staple where your Planescape torment and Disco Elysium, and many others come from.
The character of the world: they got a personality and everything but you get to dictate their ideology or how they feel; think Mass Effect, Witcher, Deus ex, Cyberpunk.
Self-insert: Classic D&D style, used to this day.

Nothing too serious, but I did find it a little goofy how many people are crammed into the tiny 1x3 area of the Mino Baths. It does make sense, but still...

On another note, I think it's really fucked up that Oxana changes the gender of our boys at birth, and our Portag that's all about freedom of self and doesn't beef or defend his/her child/children in any form. It's prime real estate for a debate fight.

Honestly, that’s pretty mild compared to what she actually wants all those offspring for, which is future host bodies.

What?!? You joshing me? Where this info at?
Nope. I am not. It’s pretty heavily hinted that Evergreen is basically Furry!Flemeth, though I’d have to go back through the the various dialogue to find the specific bits.

I did not catch that vibe at all, you sure you ain't head cannoning that? Sure she's weird and a recluse but Flemeth behavior? I'm not seeing, tho we did get warnings but was it really that subtle?

If I remember correctly, the hints towards it pop up in some of the dialogue with Meira and Komari. It basically runs along the lines of the previous Lady Evergreens all being suspiciously similar to the current one, and hints that she stole the knowledge of how to possess people from Komari, which is the real origin of their feud.

The student-teacher fallout I get but I'm not sure that was hinted at, but I'm more inclined to believe you because Komari is fucking evil and Carmilla did some shady shit in her past that has her being a recluse. So all three having that "three wicked witches" vibe ain't too far off.

I mean, Komari straight up uses the Champ as a host body in one of the bad ends, so there’s also that.

IMO, particularly on my White Mage/Paladin champ, there are a whole lot of heretics in the Frostwood that need to be purged.

Oh yeah, I realized Oxana wasn't quite right when playing a female Champ and picking the "short" way to get Ghostlight dick. Broad rolled up ready square off, I was like "Oh I thought you were just a weird OC but nah you're a retired villain"

Oxana and Carmen were both students of Komari during the early parts of the Godswar, with both of them going bad according to Carmen, herself apparently having done something horribly bad with white magic once upon a time which is why she's sworn herself to pacifism and non-interference since then, while Oxana went all darkest magics, presumably Komari would be a balanced grey mage (though her Bad Ends are hardcore and really only overcome by one of the Orc camp bad ends and a couple involving Tollus, which is saying something). All three also ended up immortal, through different means, with Oxana's version being body-swapping while the other two are "undead" through separate ways.

Of the three I prefer Carmen, and I'm looking forward to her content being expanded upon, even if it'll likely be a very long way off. If she requires cum as sustenance as seems to be indicated via a certain night-time event, hopefully a virile champion will be able to volunteer. Dumping a nut down the pipe of a gothic blonde is exactly the sort of meaningful sacrifice I embrace.

Kill the Mutant, burn the Heretic, purge the Unclean! Suffer not the Xenos to live! Ave Imperator!

(Ehrm, sorry. Though suddenly now my view of Draco-Ev's zeal to retake the Empire has changed dramatically.)

A character from the Dragon Age series.

No, no, don’t apologize. That’s exactly the reaction I was going for ;)

Where or when is this mentioned tho, the thing I've realized with this game is that some of the drama and interesting concepts are straight accidents or you assuming too much and seeing the potential that isn't fulfilled or even there. Bad End in novels and games in the hands of good writers can enhance a character by showing us a side of a character you wouldn't normally see but is definitely there in the details or they can just be a joke or just context-sensitive "what if" that doesn't say much about anything.
This game doesn't seem to be sure if it's doing the former or the latter. So I don't want to assume interesting drama is afoot only to get some porn to burn the time.

Somehow, I don't think you're going to get the chance.

Oh, I know. That was already pretty obvious with how inconsistent the purge option is with demon NPCs alone.

How do you meet Carmen I only got her in the dream?
She’s the Baroness up at castle in Hawkethorne and Atugia’s former employer. You can meet her when bringing Ryn to the castle, after having sex with Atugia prior to recruiting her, and when she offers to make you Champion of Hawkethorne after completing several quests.

Make sure to read all the details in this latter part, it's where you can get her comments about Oxana and Komari, and a sort-of explanation for why she's not doing anything to stopping a certain Michael Reverra from all his bald moves. While the initial meeting via bringing Ryn there never left a good impression, this one did on me, even if she deliberately puts herself in a rather pathetic light... which is respectable in itself, for a noble to lower herself to in order to get the help that her people need.

What's a flemeth?

To be more specific, she is an ancient, extremely powerful being that keeps her own existence continuing by adopting/kidnapping/giving birth to mages who she raises as her children and students. When they get strong enough and power hungry enough to go through her Secret Forbidden Books, she beats them down and transfers her soul into their young bodies.

I mean, technically it’s Mythal doing the body snatching, but yes, that.

Suffice to say the similarities between her and Evergreen are striking, the only major difference being that Evergreen is pretty obviously a straight up villain, where as Flemeth’s nature is a bit more ambiguous.
