Doesn't matter to me.. I prefer to judge people for myself and personally Evergreen is a saint (but not by much) compared to the demons. Just like the champs meant to be Pansexual but my champs are all gay. It's how I play.
Like how people defend the Kitsunes when they attack, they cant take no for an answer, that to me is still an evil act.

I think you're missing the whole point of tanuki Flemeth's character then. Or you love the idea of Evergreen and not the actual character, seeing as how the game's creator has explicitly confirmed that she's evil but to you she's a saint.

If you love Evergreen then great. My favourite characters are Kiyoko and Arona, one of whom is fully entrenched in the culture of an imperialistic, colonising power, and the other is literally a slaving rapist.

It's just that there's a difference between 'I love this character despite/because they're evil' and 'I'm sorry I just don't see how brainwashing and warping the bodies of travellers to become my wards and jumping into their bodies to extend my life is evil'.

I wonder how much your tune will change if/when she actually commits evil, in-game, right in front of the Champion. And given that the above-mentioned future-proofing exists, I'd guess it's a matter of 'when' rather than 'if'.

Kitsune content is marked by a tone of fatalistic melancholy that a lot of people complain about but it seems like might be right up your alley. Look out for fox-people with lots of tails who want to nibble at your soul.

I've definitely stumbled upon the orb and while I'm fairly neutral on fatalism, I love melancholy (I really love sad stories, though I tend to prefer they end on the happy side) and I am thoroughly enjoying TheObserver's work, it's certainly close enough to what I was looking for and beggars can't be choosers.

I get why people probably wouldn't enjoy that sort of thing in this type of game but for me even if I'm driving a "Commander Shepard" and not my own character, a wide array of emotions, especially sadness, rather than just some stoic badass casanova. When that happens I tend to fall into this trap with smut games, "Why am I even reading all of this, just spam next till the next smut scene pops up." At which point I just quit playing the game cause if I'm not reading everything what's even the point?

Uh I guess I rambled there, anyway I'll certainly continue diving into the Kitsune content next chance I get and thanks for confirming that has tones of what I'm looking for.

Also if siding with/against Evergreen is a major choice, Evergreen fans would feel jipped if they instantly get body snatched after the events of the game. I feel that allowing yourself to be transformed by tanukimom should eventually result in a bad ending, but the sexy kind instead of the spooky kind.

A super witch with centuries of experience couldn't find something to do with a soul pretty much every powerful being in the setting wants? Doubtful. If nothing else we're a good bargaining tool.

As long as they are not mutually exclusive, as in getting transformed leading into the bad end, I do not mind.

I doubt letting Evergreen transform the player will immediately cause a bad end. But I'd be shocked if it didn't affect the ending in some way. As to whether or not that's negative will probably depend on if possession or body stealing is some kind of kink for you. Also she could probably save the soul while still using the body. She knows what Kas's soul gem magic thing is, so at least has basic knowledge of general soul magic bullshittery.

We have a former cultist and an Orcish chieftan as part of our group.

And lastly, that is still not an justification to write her double crossing you. This is a porn game and getting molested over for engaging with a character as involved as Evergreen seems like a waste. Evergreen may be evil but to what extent is up to writers to establish. They could easily write a reason for why player is valued bu Evergreen beyond shallow waters.

Well unlike Kas, evergreen is basically hardcoded to be evil. Its the case of one can be redeemed and one just doesnt want to be. Like the magic circle scene was all I needed to see to know evergreen is not a good person worth siding with.

That's fine if she's evil. Champs can be extremely evil as well depending on how you play the game. Being evil isn't an issue, what would though is if the champ got their body or soul taken as a sort of punishment for choosing to side with her or take her TF. It's that whole thing about players being given false choices where one is objectively wrong and you're punished for it and the other objectively is right and you're rewarded for it. That type of cookie cutter morality system sucks in games like these, and it's bad enough that the game is already lacking in evil content, being punished for siding with evil characters will only make it worse.
