What does it mean to check the "ship computer"? there is none. The extranet message section? Where am I supposed to look to trigger Seranigans besides shower/storage/ship space and to see if she's paid me back?
Since there isn't a universal "computer" section on the ship, those pranks are triggered in the Arousal/Masturbation menu when your character is able to watch extranet porn (Atha or Steph Irson episodes) using the ship's console. If and when an actual computer gets implemented for the ship, those pranks may move there.

Why are the fhan’i giving me a "secret history of the vanae" vibe?

Because they are (the name not clue enough?), and it's why I'm seeking approval from Fen before continuing on with it. My prospective next commissioner wants a pet training station from which Steele can receive a grooming session preferably run by a male, so...

Gee, those Vanae/Fhan’i antecedents must have been shitty pilots then. crashing in all the primitive planets. :smuggo:

Jokes aside, I wish you good luck with getting this approved.

The turnaround on some of your projects from written to coded is kind of spectacular.

If only the second I finished writing something it magically transmogrified into the impenetrable list of functions and bracketed information that makes those words into things that dance on your screen, and then instantly compiled into Trials in Tainted Space's code.

Until the day I am bestowed that magic wand, I have the next best thing: Based Jacques.

Just wanted to pop up and say that after going through slave!Sera content, I liked in was surprised by a realization of liking it even more than the route of becoming her sub, on a certain level. And that's despite personally considering enslaving her utter heresy and having no real way to ignore just how much of an entitled {insert genitals} PC needs to be in order to even consider that route.

When I tried to get down to the reason why it's so, the one thing that immediately popped up was PC having a strong, consistently characterized voice throughout the whole thing. The back and forth of actual dialogue and the descriptions of the magnificent bastard's thought process were a real treat.

I totally get why you decided not to go for so much of direct PC speech and strong characterization in a good portion of the other content you wrote, especially one where PC is the submissive partner. Still, I wanted to say: thanks again. You write good dialogue, man. If you'll be able to find a way to incorporate more of it into the future content, it'd be awesome.

I end up pushing the line with PC's dialogue and characterisation when it comes to heavy dom content because I believe it's necessary for it to work well. It's possible to write about a cipher with no personality imposing themselves on someone else, but it really lacks impact and weight. The content itself hopefully acts as a gate which makes this not too incongruous - only a certain kind of player should want to enslave Sera, and that's the kind of player I envisage when I write their dialogue (@noobsaleh: this is why I was reluctant to include bimbo dialogue alternatives despite your requests. I found it really difficult to envisage a bimbo character doing such a thing in the first place). I did the exact same thing with Whitney's corruption - think the PC gets more direct lines there than anywhere else in CoC.

Funnily enough I had a similar mindset and minor epiphany to you regarding Sera recently - I also considered the whole enslavement thing as an unpleasant alternative timeline that doesn't really happen (possibly why it took me so long to complete it), but I went through it again recently deliberately denying the existence of the 'real' storyline and, y'know, it does work. Despite the closeness of the dialogue there exists a lot of leeway into how the PC can view her: someone they outgrew or got tired of being abused by and took charge of, just another fuckdoll with a particularly schadenfreude-y back story, someone they had a kind of paternal concern for but had no intention of putting up with her shit to help. That awful bug in her training aside I'm happy it exists.

Yeah I never understood the whole silent protagonist thing. Like game makers always say they want to let players self insert but that's not only fucking bullshit, it also doesn't make any sense. How can I relate to a silent doll versus, say, Geralt of Rivia (like him or hate him you gotta admit the not very emotional voice acting is on point)?

With that said it's different in text, smut, and the second person, so when you mix all three, well, you know. But even then I still prefer actual lines, even though it's frowned upon. Or at the very least, in D/s content. I don't know, maybe I just have no imagination. Or maybe y'all are a bunch of prudes.

personally considering enslaving her utter heresy
I don't know what you're talking about, bro. I took her into my ship out of the kindness of my own heart. Even if I didn't, she would have just been sent to work in the salt mines of Space Korea.

Silent protagonists are only really good when the kinds of choices you can make and the direction you can take are widely varied. If you're not given a choice in the actions the character will take, then that character already has a defined personality, voice or not. Like, if you don't already identify with the actions the character will have to take for the plot, making them silent isn't going to help. In fact, I'd rather have a choice in their actions than anything else.

I must disagree. Bethesda games, for example, are much better with protagonist voice acting. To clarify, Fallout 4 is no masterpiece by any means, I'm just saying.

Oh no, I'm not saying it's better than it would be in a game like that with voices, I just meant that if a character is supposed to be silent for the sake of self insert, it's not very effective if you don't get to choose their actions as well. I personally would prefer the voiced version.

The voice acting for the MC in Fallout 4 and the fact the Sole Survivor has sorta a background and character has contributed to ruining the game and is indirectly and somewhat directly responsible for the lack of any dialogue options.

It's not the only or even the core reason F4 was bad, but it certainly didn't help for sure.

Whatever benefit VAs for the protag of Fo4 could have brought were lost completely due to the writing in general being incredibly meh, and overall one of the shittiest plots I've experienced in a while up until the 2nd season of Supergirl had it's writers apparently unlearn how to fucking write.

I liked Fallout 4, sure i hated the fact that the protagonist had voice-acting but it doesnt limit anything honestly(it doesnt bother me at all).

But the plot was............ bad... honestly... it was just that bad.........well.... i will just keep playing Morrowind and have fun there xD

[Owner] [Pet] [Neither]

tfw no [Both] option

Also serious question but is that a non-sexual commission? Like I know it sort of implies otherwise what with, say, "Obedience Training" and all, but that could be a whole commission away.

Funnily enough the commissioner said their primary interest in it wasn't really sexual! Or at least not up front. But I am going to be doing the sexual training, because I suspect Fen won't be all that happy with it otherwise.

I gotta second the other two who've responded thus far in saying that I would love to see a "both" option to the question of owner/pet and that I'd have no complaints about the scenes staying non-sexual. The game could use more worldbuilding that isn't just fap material, it just makes the faps one does have all the better.

I third the motion, the option to answer 'both' would really allow the intricate relationships that Steele can and might develope to be acknowledged more fully. And having read it, yeah no smut would work with this, the absence of the sex doesn't hurt it at all and they still come across as solid characters that have something to add to the game. Would boinkability be nice? Absolutely but it isn't needed and if you can't add it without forcing it, I'd say just leave it.

Oh god that whole idea in the doc is actually kinda adorable. I LOVED reading the grooming session all the way through.

Is it bad that I'm sorta *coughverycough* wanting it to be at least naughty to a degree? I'm also kinda curious as to what that [E.Training] option is. 'Erotic training' maybe? Idk, that's just my guess..
