Hello everyone!

I make a text-only adult lifesim game called Newlife - it had a thread in the old forums, but I guess that'll be long gone now.

In Newlife, you play as either a woman or a man who gets transformed into a woman early on. You have to make a new life in a nonspecific British city. Work out at the gym, take a dance class and practice for competitions, shop for cute outfits, be asked out on dates, go clubbing, get drunk, meet men, get carried away and have risky sex, accidentally become pregnant... lots to do!

The game is still in development, but you can play all the way through to the ending and there's no unimplemented dead-ends. My goal in making the game is for it to be very replayable, so there's lots of character traits you can take which affect how things pan out. The game very much lets you cede control to the male npcs and let them take charge of what happens. However, while it has lots of passive/submissive content, there are no rape scenes.

One fetish that gets a lot of detail is impregnation. Your character has a fertility cycle, and can become pregnant if you aren't careful with contraception. Pregnancy isn't a game-over, and you can carry children to term. 

The entire game is female-perspective, apart from short sections of the intro & endgame. Most of the sex scenes are MF, with some minor FF content - more of that will come in the future.

I can't figure out what combo I need to get the new friend event in 3.8. I know it has to be a non-boastful friend at least. It takes so long to make friends so I keep trying with the last 6 weeks of one where I've got 2 but don't know if I have the right traits. I also started over twice trying to get it but only managed to make 1 friend both times and didn't get it in either.

The friend, in addition to not being boastful, must be an impregnator. This is a very difficult trait to learn so you'll probably never see it listed without the patron-only Psychic trait. If it does show up, the description is "He likes to get girls pregnant." Only mean (not selfish) guys can be impregnators. You can recognize them by pregnancy related comments, like saying cumming during foreplay would be a waste. A sure-fire way to identify one is to have a virgin PC, having condoms at home, and telling him you're unprotected. An impregnator will say you can't get pregnant from your first time. 

The player also needs to be Bitchy, and the relationship strength must not be Bad.

Dancing was changed in 0.3.9 to take half as long, but the main change there will come when I do a big update on nightlife so the player has more choices than just clubbing. As for more stuff to do, of course that's in the works, but the game's complexity makes it slow to add more content. You might need to wait a few years if you want to play it when it's closer to a finished game. Lately I've been trying not to give estimates because they're always wildly optimistic, but I think it's safe to say that it'll be at least a couple of years before I can finish Newlife.

Thanks Lesbian content is in the core dev plan. I suspect it'll get voted in to be done quite soon, but I need to finish the friendship update first, and I have a big enough backlog of patreon content that I probably won't be working on that this month.

When I add new content, I try to think of how it'll work in the context of the finished game. I want Newlife to be very replayable, and that means having custom events that show up in specific circumstances. That way the player's choices make a big difference because they can enable specific rare scenes.

These scenes aren't really supposed to be ones you'd start a game thinking "I'm going to get scene X". Instead, the idea is that even once someone's played the game through several times they'll still sometimes be surprised by completely new content that they've never seen before because it's only relevant to their very particular situation. There's similar content within particular scenes as well - one of the longer orgasm descriptions only shows up in one sex scene, has 6 different conditions that all need to be met, and then has an almost entirely different alternate version if it's your first time.

I know it's a bit frustrating for people who want to see the new stuff, but I think it'll make the game better in the long run than if every event was easy to find. I do try to mix that sort of thing in with easily-accessed content - both the new scenes for 0.3.9 are quite easy to get to and the content I'm adding for 0.3.10 will mostly be easy to find if you take the new trait.

Does that just mean stuff in the build we get from there early? Also i have also seen someone mention the porn theater, I have yet to see that scene. Where is that scene at? I assume on the dates.  I like that you are adding more submissive type stuff.  Best part of the game is the complexity. I like making characters with different stats and seeing the differences.  The clothes selection is great.    I see you will be adding more then just the club which will be a great addition.

Would love to see random scenes like maybe in a taxi where a guy gets in with you and things happen, or maybe a subway where guys fondle you on the ride (like what happens on the dance floor)

Thank you I do plan to do another update based around pregnancy at some point, with better handling of lactation being the headline change there. I think that'll build on some other upcoming changes such as relationship improvements though, so I won't put it forward as a voting candidate straight away when 0.4 is done.

Multiple partner content is notoriously tricky to add. The current stuff is possible because of heavy restrictions on npc variation. As a rule of thumb, because it's so much more complicated to add than 2p scenes, 3p content is usually going to be patreon content.

When I refer to patreon content, I meant things that aren't part of the core dev plan, but are added because of milestones or rewards on patreon. While I'm sure restricting certain scenes to the patreon version would bring me more money from support, I want to keep the public version as the full game, with no restricted content. I wouldn't necessarily rule out limiting additions that aren't part of the main game experience to patrons, such as how cheats are currently limited, but I have no specific plans in that direction. I did think about whether the npc creation tool that I'll be writing soon should be restricted, but I've decided to make it entirely public.

So, to be clear: patrons get the new stuff in the latest version early, and they have access to some cheats that aren't in the public version, but there's no game content that's disabled in the public release.

To get the porn theatre, go on dates with sleazy men and let them decide what to do. One of their choices is to take you to an adult cinema.

Thanks for the scene suggestions. Actually, a chikan type of scene is something that I've long had on my todo list. In fact, I made some changes to how makeouts work last year to enable this sort of thing. In the end, I added the perverted client scene instead of one on public transport, but I do plan to have both eventually. It'll be a bus rather than a subway though. I also have some ideas in that direction for the neighborhood update when you can live in different places. Each neighborhood will have some unique things that can happen, and I'm thinking the bad one you start in could have a sleazy neighbor who'll take opportunities to harass you sexually. Of course there'll also be a neighborhood with a nice opportunity for romance too!

And finally, if you like submissive content, then you might enjoy the next release. It's the "prove me wrong" one, which means it's entirely that sort of thing.

When I first released Newlife, the UK government were bringing in a law to ban rape pornography, but as it was still being written by Parliament I didn't know the details. That law has now been brought into force, and I don't think it covers text content.

However, there are other reasons not to add rape and I don't plan to have it in the game, although there will continue to be lots of content with pushy guys (or girls) trying to pressure or harass the poor player-character into sex.

It may still be added as a Prove Me Wrong release (I believe it placed second last time), but the next one of those is a year away. Unless a second PMW milestone is re-added, in which it may be less. 

TL;DR:It's possible in the long run, but don't count on it. Unless Splendid has a change of heart.

Even if they were given text, even if it were very detailed in what traits and such produce what text, it would still be a significant investment. I completely agree. New content to expand the gameplay is always appreciated. Could you point me in a direction where I could learn more about how this code interacts with writing? It really piques my interest, plus it is such a turn on to write out your fanta...err, I mean to expand my education.
