The only problem i have is the UI - reason why i like TiTS because of the UI is easy to use and doesn't confuse the player
Not dead yet, but close. I can't keep affording paying the server costs out of my pocket, so it may remain down until I find a solution. To be honest, the donations haven't worked as I expected compared with other games. I'll try out adds and if that doesn't add up the costs and my time I'll probably abandon the project.
Not to be an asshole, but how much is too much? I'm running around 12gb of data per day for my games, and it costs me around 10$/month (mix of amazon and godaddy).
Honestly he doesn't even -need- the server. The very first reply to this thread was mine and I did point out there are free alternatives he can use that doesn't incur costs from his end. I did warn that relying on other people's donations in order to sustain the project was shaky business. The problem is he built and programmed this game to be hosted on a server and to change that now would require re-doing everything from scratch to the kind of executable game we can just download and play on our end. I know its a pain in the a$$ but it IS the best option right now if he wants to keep the project alive.
What browser do you play this game on because every time i click one the links here and on the patron site i get site cant be reached. the only one that works is the roadmap
I don't want to to kill the game, I've spent quite some time developing it and honestly it was being received way better than I expected. But looking for alternatives take a time that right now I can't afford, and I can't afford to keep paying the server either, so for the time being it's down.
I have to say that I was having a good donation/visitor ratio when I was promoting the game in dedicated forums like this one. Then I created a couple of posts of Reddit that brought literally thousands of players, which increased the server costs quite a lot. None of those donated one dollar. Not a single one.
I already have some ideas to bring it back up, including some of the ones you guys gave me, but I can't make promesses or set dates right now.
The game is back online! I've found that Google offers a free hosting trial so i decided to use my Saturday to do the migration. This is not a permanent solution, but will buy me time to try alternatives. The first step is most likely finding an add provider, and check how well that works.

Good thing ya didn't die. I'm still looking forward to your game if you intend to complete it. What are your plans moving forward? After being quite discouraged by the server costs and the little revenue (and intrusiveness) of the add solutions I tries the game went down a few weeks ago.
Finally I have managed to find a solution to make the game run without requiring a webserver, or more properly, a centralized one. The solution combines Flask for Python and the module py2exe to compile all the game data into a .exe file.
The most clear drawback is that now the game is only available for PC's running Windows, while before it allowed pretty much any platform with Internet access. The advantages are that it can be now played online and of course that now I don't have to pay any server costs (or any costs whatsoever, except for the domain that I'm still keeping for now), which has allowed me to remove all advertisement except a few links to my Patreon page. This definitely guarantees the survival of the game.

I am glad to hear this. Any game that requires a centralized server is doomed to die eventually. Whether fanbased or commercial product (I lost count of how many commercial games with centralized servers shut down)After being quite discouraged by the server costs and the little revenue (and intrusiveness) of the add solutions I tries the game went down a few weeks ago.

+1 from me. I think it's a bad thing if there is only "sub" sexual content for the PC.Much of my concerns with the game remain since the last time I played, but also the town doesn't work in v1.1.0, for me at least.
Do you ever intend to implement player victory sex scenes or Dominant perk options? I like these styles of games, although only having access to Sub content doesn't do it for me. Only having scenes where the mobs manhandle my character despite the fact he can literally beat all 3-5 of them to death with his hands saps my interest in it dramatically. I mean, at the very least if I successfully seduce'em it should be a bit more of a mutual encounter.
Edit: Sounds a bit more like complaining than I intended, but I assure you it's merely because I like the potential and am curious as to if there'll be anything I can enjoy in it.
Well, I am not the author but:-What's the difference between a dickgirl and a hermaphrodite in your game? Also, the herma enemies don't do anything in sex scenes. Maybe they only work on female characters?
Version 1.2 released!
Well, this update has been long and painful to release but was definitely needed. Difficult to define it content-wise, since I've changed the whole file, event and scene structure. The sex sequence is completely different, as well as most text and descriptions, perks and many other dynamics.
The main goal of this update was not adding or replacing content though, but replacing the buggy and rigid XML tree system that supported the game. I have not abandoned completely XML, but the gameplay elements no longer hang directly from a XML structure, which made updating and growing the game structure slow and clumsy.
There's still a lot to polish and expand, but at least now I have a powerful base to support it.
The new version can as usual be found at ethosofdarkness.com.
Thanks for detecting that. It was a problem with the display of the perks window (which also shows after leveling). I have been able to reproduce it and have uploaded a new file with the fix.
Regarding the random errors showing up, I'm guessing those are caused by something else, but I'll have to get them myself to find the reason and fix it.
I think I just detected the problem with the shop/gear. What happened is that when you equipped a different item, it didn't update the status correctly and led to errors. I've uploaded a new file to fix the bug within this new version, since the next one will be Patron-only for a while and I'd rather have this one also bug-free. I've also added a few features that I was finishing for the next one.
I still have not implemented any gun, so I've hidden the options mentioning it until I actually add some guns in-game.
I'm very in favor of letting the player change its character through gameplay: getting fatter/weeker/stronger/pregnant in-game, style changes, eventually sex modifications, but I also want to make these changes more relevant. Need to polish the sex-scenes so the players and actions are better and not as repetitively described.
Not sure if it's just me running into the bug but whenever I open the .exe, it'll open up the browser tab with 127.0.0.3:14928 and then let me know that the site can't be reached and it refuse to connect. Any way to fix this problem?
I have been having the exact same problem with it. Sadly no idea how to fix it though.
