Get together then. Bang some stuff out on keyboard. Be the change you wish to see in TiTS.

And about Bianca, I want her too, but I've read the public doc of her part 2 and I think it's a bit personal for Will, so if someone will be writing her adding to the team, he will need to cut it, change it or write their own. As for Roo, if it's possible, her crew parts can be used, but, personally I think no one will use it, so that it stays as a testament to Will. Anyway that's my personal opinion and if it will be done, I'll return to the game, if not, well it was a good journey.

Eh, probably a nice idea, but I think I'll just ruin it, so I'll leave it to someone else, if no one else will do it, that's fine too in my opinion.

The plans for Bianca were... hoo boy. They were something to be sure, which was possibly in correlation to Williams mental state going down the tubes at the time. Needless to say, you'd have to change a lot of what was planned in order to get her accepted.
what were the supposed plans? too ambitious or just not suited for TiTs?
nvm, didn't realize the docs had been added to the OP, yeah I see what you mean

Alright, I know this is a bit of a touchy subject. But hypothetically, if we had an author or multiple authors willing to pick up one of William's unfinished characters (like Sophora), would it be allowed provided they were deemed skilled enough? What would the barrier of entry be there if so?

As has been said, William is fine with others completing the work, since they have no plans to come back.

Barriers to entry? Finishing a submission and passing quality muster with the staff.

I've heard people say that the dev team didn't want anyone touching it, regardless of what Will may have said. But granted, they weren't staff, so maybe that wasn't true or I just misunderstood.

As for finishing a submission, I assume that would have to be something original first as proof you can write your own stuff, yeah?

You could be right, but I would assume William's statement and desires trump that. Otherwise, there's a variety of hanging threads in the game that will hang forever without resolution.

That said, you are correct that the bar is high. How high?

We shall know when someone attempts to clear it.

I mean, if all else fails, we could just pay Nonesuch a shitload of money to do it.
We could, but he's got a lot on his plate as it is.

The main reason I ask is that I think I might be able to do it. I already have writing experience and I've considered submitting something to the game beforehand, but the game's got enough throwaway NPCs and I didn't want to add another.

Sophora bugs me. She's not the only unfinished character in the game, but something about her in particular being unfinished bothers me and I'm not entirely sure why. I want to see if I can finish what Will started, but it's a question of am I good enough and would the team allow it if I was?

Why don't you just ask? They're on the discord. They're on these forums.

Honestly, you'd be doing a lot of others a favor by doing so and might inspire someone to pick up the torch of another one of his characters.

This is going to sound silly, but fear, I guess. Like I said earlier, I've seen conflicting statements about the idea of someone else touching Will's stuff and I was trying to kinda gauge the sentiment around it when I posted in this thread.

In hindsight, you're right that I should probably stop pussyfooting around and just ask the actual dev team who actually makes the game directly.

I have a quick question if no one minds me asking. So everyone remember's the Blue Viper from cherry's taphouse on Zheng Shi right.

If I recall correctly (correct me if I am wrong please), she is the leader of the Sylveren Slavebreakers, and she was written by William. So my question is if William was planning on expanding on the Blue Viper NPC before they left such as a recruitment path of sorts or an encounter with them outside of the taphouse since their really leader of the slavebreakers.

I am just asking out of curiosity since a while back I remembered how Reaha is recruited and couldn't help but wonder which of the wall npc's in the taphouse could have a similar recruitment path. though if I recall correctly, the Blue Viper is part of it willingly to collect info, secrets and individuals using her hypnotic powers.
