It brings it out of the realm of non-con to dubious-con because you're essentially taking advantage of someone in a bad situation.

Hold on, you're making a game? Which one's that? I'm legit curious. And inclined to check it out.
I mean, it's still kinda fucked up that they see having a ton of sex with rich strangers as their only way out, and also that people are willing to pay for a dangerous criminal's freedom so they can fuck them. Especially since they encourage pregnancy.
I suppose you could imagine Gastigoth as a sort of work-release brothel.
Or just the good-old-fashioned trope of paying evil onto evil.

Please say you're not being facetious. A game being produced by you is one of my dreams.
It's a sci-fi game called Cloud 10 that's being built outwards from the core concept of 'the Hand So experience', set in its own universe. I should say that I'm not the producer, just the chief writer and designer. I'll have much more to say about it towards the end of March.
Things don't have to be miserable for it to be a dystopia. Quite the opposite in fact. See: A Brave New World.
What order? There's plenty pure females in the game (Biologically), there's maybe a shortage of pure men but even that's subject to change and the intersex characters that are present cater, you guessed it, to one of the game's dominant fetishes.

The situation being fucked up is part of the appeal. But I understand why you guys are squicked out by it.
I do always wonder why those militantly vanilla sorts, guys who can't take anything but unambiguous male dominant sex with vacuous women sporting giant breasts, even care about this particular game. That's equal-opposite silliness to those who pitch a dramatic fit over the inclusion of one or two characters or scenes they didn't care for in a game with thousands of scenes.

I might be wrong, but I kept getting the impression that Khorgan gets some genuine fun out of her situation, at least as far as visits from the PC are concerned. Of course, I'd prefer if there was an option to take in Khorgan by paying a fee or gaining a handling license/prisoner rehab.
Khorgan aside, I just really like Brandt.
I think it leaks from an odd phenomenon that sex games in particular stroke: people inserting way too far into their avatars.
No matter how deep the customization goes they're not going to be -exactly- who you imagine them to be, they're the characters that they are and they'll react as they will. The desire to control them overmuch includes wanting to see only content you approve of in the tone you'd approve of it - whether that means never seeing any hint of racism from police or exploitation by jailers or never running into any ambiguously-sexed individuals.
A game can warn you about the sorts of things that are in it but fundamentally you have to be willing to drop the whole control freak thing and just go with it. People who can't take even a whiff of anything but their favorite sex thing remind me of those picky eaters who only eat chicken tenders.

Personally I don't see a problem with people wanting more pure female characters and pure male characters. Some people just want to have sex with a male or female sometimes and not a dick girl or an how do you say it. Intersex being of unknown origins.
I think it's not that they want vanilla only, just that they want Vanilla once in a while than having... Intersex.

There's wanting to see some regular guys and girls and then there's the futas and traps and transgenders and femdom are a menace that must be purged types.
I don't know about other people, but if I play a smutty game, I'd very much like it if it roughly covered my core interests. If I like the game, then I can do different runs and see other scenes. I know that no game will ever be fully tailored to what I want, which is why I appreciate opting out or other similar measures.
as far as things look all the prisoners in Gastigoth dont really mind their current situation, except for Tam perhaps, i wish there was a way to cure her mental issues so at least you can have proper conversation with her. in fact, its sad that these villain characters dont tend to have further dialogue options so you can see their POV on what they do/did for a living. Cpt. Khorgan must have one hell of a piracy story to tell.
i may agree in that the amount of penis bearing individuals is quite high. it may work with Kui-tan NPCs and Player Characters (because of lore reasons backing it) but there's a lot of hermaphroditism capable races in the game already (and i bet not many of them have proper explanation for it in the Codex), and then there's also the augmented individuals, perhaps we should get more single genital characters? to balance it out. its hard to tell without making a list or something of who has only a penis or who has only a vagina in the game then compare it to the amount of futas, traps and herm characters.

But with the gender/genitals stuff, I just wish it was more versatile. Like, it seems the majority of characters are hyper, female, and have both genitals. It gets to feeling pretty same-y.
Though to be fair, I've heard a lot of people irl say they'd try having a penis/vagina if it was temporary. Wait, why isn't there like, a party drug in TiTS that gives, say, an 8-hour penis/vagina?
I'm pretty certain that the halloween costume event planet would have something like that if we were allowed to explore the planet a bit more.
I remember a joke a bloke once said, "TiTS? More like DiCKS&TiTS" I don't mind it meself to be right frank, but the game could go for a bit more of ye ol' traditional lads and lasses. Perplexing that nary a ship is waving the husbando flag in these waters. Aye, the cannons need to be loaded with more marriage material on both sides I'd say. Savvy?

To be fair, at least half the characters in the game can easily be interpreted that way unless they're first-wave submissions and haven't received content updates in ages - or prefer to sleep around and treat your relationship like the casual hookup it is.
Notable exceptions are the likes of Zheniya and Stella, or the bug girl vendor on Tavros; Paige and Aina, Trap-Pup and Mechanic-Doggo on the same general map as well...to name a few.
Sure, some of my favorite monogenders have only a few scenes or no means to progress the relationship from casual fling to something more serious, but I do genuinely think there's more monogendered characters in the game than intersex.
