Personally, I don't like the double lining with a white space, as it makes the drawing look like a sticker :p Nice shading, though!

I got a ton of work done on A Very Full House in the last couple of days. My focus was on the phone UI, which I wanted to make as modular as possible so it can be a hub for content and in-fiction information. Here's a look at the result:

The phone construction code is all modular, so it's trivially easy now to have swappable backgrounds, eliminate the cracks on the screen, and add new "apps". Those apps can either trigger an interaction (top), bring up a new phone screen, or both (bottom). Overall I'm very happy with how this bit of the game has turned out so far! The next step will be to implement the Chore system so there's actually some sort of gameplay loop to this game!

Oh, and if you didn't notice I've added some proper facial art for our main character MILF!

I got caught up doing a bunch of coding, so no practice art to show off for today (I was able to do some sketching practice, just nothing worth showing). I'm working on the chore system right now, which is part of the central gameplay loop. The idea is you have a collection of chores to finish each week, each of which generates Stress. Too much stress and you can't do things, miss too many chores the household falls apart. Getting other characters to perform chores for you means building up less Stress, but you'll need some sort of leverage to convince them. That leverage happens to be your hot MILF body.

Back to some character drawing practice with another Mira strip down piece!

In A Very Full House news, the chore system is implemented, complete with a phone app to keep track of all of them. I've tweaked the mechanics for how House Stability is affected and how chores reset (before it was on a fixed schedule, now repeating chores reset X days after they are completed). I've also written that handles corruption in events, but I don't have any UI elements for that yet. That's what I'm working on next!

I spent a bunch of time on some non-NSFW drawing, so I got my practice hours in but don't have anything to show off here today. I was also able to get even more A Very Full House coding done, mainly a lot of UI work for character stats. There's now a "contacts" app to keep all the NPC stats collected in the same place. I'm also working on the choice UI to have it dynamically enable/disable options based on money, arousal, corruption levels, etc. Next up I need to figure out what sort of UI I want to display your spendable stats (Money, Control, etc.) when in the choice UI.

Slowly but surely I'm getting closer to a proper tech demo! Once this UI stuff is finished I can finally start porting over some of the events I wrote for the Unity version.

I got my UI work done (for the moment, at least. Once I'm certain it's the design I'm going for I'll do a second pass). With that finished I took a crack at adding in animations, and that took me down a whole rabbit hole! Ren'py only supports playing a single animation (a "Motion", in Live2D terminology) at once, which was a problem for a lot of applications I had in mind. I did some digging and ended up figuring out my own animation management code so I can play as many as I want. I put that all together to add some real bounce to the NPC conversations! Here's a GIF of it in action (assuming this embeds properly!)

Oh, and I also got the underwear set for our main character MILF drawn and added to her Live2D model. It doesn't show up in this preview, so you'll just have to trust me on that for now. Next up is some code for wardrobe management so I can have her strip down for my next update!

Today I got to those face studies I've been saying I was going to do for weeks now. I wanted to make sure I wasn't just practicing the bad skills I already had, so a big chunk of my actual practice time was spent watching tutorials and experimenting. My end results aren't particularly impressive, but I figured it's still important to share them. The first step at being good at something is being bad at it!

More face studies like this to come - at the very least I need to do studies for low and high angles as well. These drawings are a little dry, so I might try and slip some boobs into them. Maybe I'll start doing upper torso busts and get some chest/shoulder practice at the same time.

Most of my last bit of work time was eaten up figuring out some annoying character display bugs in A Very Full House. For a while I had characters zipping in from off screen with every new line of dialogue and character expressions not being applied at all. After a lot of troubleshooting and a little coding that's been fixed up and the conversation system is feeling really good!

Besides that I was able to get a little bit of character clothing drawing done. One of the early events in the game involves a shower, so I added a towel clothing set I plan to use for a bunch of shower based events. In addition to that I also added two censor bar sets of "clothing". These are automatically used to cover up the character when she's naked but her corruption is still very low. The goal is to emphasis how your character is becoming more comfortable with her own nudity and sexuality, and also to tease some nudity without giving it away way too early. At corruption level 0 (start of the game) you have large black bars over your breasts and hips. At CL1 (basically after the intro) they shrink down to narrow strips just over your nipples/vagina. At CL2 they'll be gone completely!

I'm running late today, so previews of that will have to wait a bit. For now you'll just have to take my word for it!

Practice art time! This started off as a sketch practicing thigh gaps, and turned into some skintone practice as well. I'm still trying to build a collection of skintones I like, and I think this one turned out pretty good! I'm also trying to add some more dimensionality to the nipples, to some success. Oh, and I'm trying out a different bit if background framing. Let me know if you like it more or less than the blotted blocks of colour I've used before.

"Mira, didn't you say you were going to practice faces?" I hear you ask. Never fear - I took the time to do the full construction and sketching of the face behind that hand, just for the practice!

A Very Full House work is going very well! I'm at the point where I've been able to add some starting chores and a collection of early events. All the game mechanics I think I'll need are implemented, so it's all content time now! Now I'm going through the old Unity version and transferring over all of the stuff I had written there. I want to get a few events that represent all of the basic interactions (chores, teasing, spending control, gaining corruption) finished, then I'll finally be able to release a demo!

I got some drawing done today for some non-NSFW stuff, but all of my spare time went to programing and event writing for A Very Full House. I'm now working on the code that makes it easy to add NPC's as options to do chores for you. This is going to come up a lot, so I'm taking the time to make the system fully dynamic, which will make it faster to drop content in later. This is also one of the major bits of the gameplay loop: "tease" events build up Arousal in NPCs, "service" events turn that arousal into Control, and then you spend Control to either have them do chores for you (avoiding Stress) or make permanent changes to how the household runs.

There's still a lot of content I need to move over from the Unity demo, but the hard work of actually writing scenes is done there. I do need a second character model (bending over, viewed from behind) at some point for the main MILF, but that will probably wait until after the first Ren'py demo.

I decided to go back to my roots for today's practice art: big titty elves! I've done a lot of high elves before, so here's a detour from that for more of a wood-elf feel. No equipment but a bow, some arrows, and a chest guard to avoid getting titty-slapped by that bow with every shot. The fully coloured/shaded version should be my next log entry, and after that maybe I'll do an "after" image with her looking a little less heroic.

A Very Full House work chugs along. I'm finishing up the initial set of "tease" events for all the men of the house, and I've got a selection of chores that should set the tone for the early part of the game. Once that's done I'll be adding the "payment" scenes (which are all pretty tame at the start) so there is some way to convert Arousal into Control. Then I'll do some bug hunting, then we'll be ready for a demo release!

I'm back with some proper practice art today, although only the line art for today. I've noticed I am a lot faster with construction and posing than I use to be, which is a nice improvement to notice! I'm looking to improve my colouring and shading style, which is what I'll be working on for the next phase of this drawing.

I decided to spend my practice time coding and writing the last few bits of A Very Full House that I need to finish up before release. That includes a few basic character interactions, a tiny intro, a way to actually lose the game, and some UI tweaks. Once those are all done I think everything is ready for an early look release!

Another artless update today, but for a good reason! I'm almost ready to release the first demo for A Very Full House! Right now I'm going through and testing everything I can to find bugs, style inconsistencies, and UI issues.

Releasing your "thing" into the wild is the absolute hardest part of making anything. It's tempting to keep delaying this demo until it's perfect (which it never will be), but that's how a project drags on, never finishes, and dies unpublished. So I'm committing to a demo release in two days, in my next normal practice art slot! If you're interested in corruption and incest with swapped gender tropes (you're the sexy MILF corrupting all the boys, and some of the girls, in your neighborhood) then stay tuned!

Yeah letting others see your work is one of the hardest things to do. But once you get feedback it becomes easier to showcase your work. Remember that critism is a good thing it helps you grow as a creator.

The last couple hours of testing turned up a whole bunch of minor gameplay issues: making it easier to tell what time it is in game, adding a way to skip time, better UI images for actions that advance time or start a new day, and other things I'm probably forgetting. I've fixed those up, so it's time to finally release a version of the game!

I've done a full writeup of the features I hope this early look will show off on Patreon.

Some wonderful playtesters found a couple of bugs. I've fixed them up and released an updated version, v0.0.2:

There were also some minor tweaks and a new chore (with minimal porn content). Here's a list of everything that changed for people who are curious:
  • Fixed crash in one school event path.
  • Fixed inverted stress requirement math.
  • Chore fail notification only pops up if there was a penalty for failure (ie. lost Household Stability)
  • Chore failure notification now properly interpolates character names when they appear.
  • Added "Do the Laundry" chore, which was written but previously not triggering (new game only)

I'm back to my practice art! I'm going to focus on assets that will be useful for A Very Full House, which will mean a lot of NPCs, outfits of various levels of skimpy-ness, and background art. Today I'm starting off with a new swimsuit for the main character, plus a cutdown variation you will be able to create with a high enough corruption level!

I finished up a drawing I started a few days ago. I'm still trying to develop a good technique for drawing cum, so I threw in a cum-covered version as well.

On the A Very Full House front I added another new outfit: a basic white dress shirt + black skirt combo. This will be the starting outfit for your job at the school. My next bit of "practice" will be adding at least one variant you can create at higher sluttiness levels.

I've also been experimenting with different ways to display sex scenes and I think I've hit upon a style that I like and that will be a do-able amount of work. Most acts (especially foreplay stuff) will create a floating "frame", kind of like a frame of a comic book, that contains closeup art of the thing I'm drawing attention to. So for a tease scene that involves showing off your butt it will pop up a frame with just a butt being shown off. This will cut down on the raw amount of art I'll need to do (ie. I don't need to draw a dozen different shirts for a scene that's suppose to highlight the MC's butt), and it will let me create art that is really emphasized, even when that wouldn't make sense in a larger piece of art (like outlining her butt through a skirt). I'll try and draw up enough art to test this in game and have an example soon!

I started mocking up the comic-style cutout frame I wanted to use for a bunch of the interactions in A Very Full House, and I may have liked the idea so much that I went ahead and drew, rigged, and animated the entire thing. Here's a mockup of how I imagine it being used in-game (not currently in-engine; I haven't finished the display code yet):

Of course the cutout frame needs to support all of the outfit options the main display does, so I drew all of those too. Adding physics and some animation to the whole thing was the quick part of it. Here's a .gif of the results!

Notably this frame took, from initial concept to drawing to ready-for-Ren'py completion, about 10 hours of work. That's way less time than I would have spent doing an entire from-behind character drawing. Most of that comes from not having to redraw all of the shirts/shoes/bras that aren't actually important to what the frame needs to convey.

This style also lets me over-emphasis elements that are suppose to be the focus of the frame in a way I couldn't do with a full character drawing. Her skirt probably shouldn't emphasis her butt as much as it does, for example, but I know I'll only be using it in scenes where her butt being the focus is the whole point, and so it looks a lot more natural.

I've rigged this up so it will inherit all of the outfit parameters the main character display is using. Frames can also share animated parameters, so things like bouncing boobs and butts can be sync'd across the main character display and all of the frames. I expect that will be very handy when I start adding actual sex animations and I want all of the jiggling to match.

I still need to add some code in Ren'py to make it easy to call/hide these frames on demand, but I should have that done relatively soon. I think I'll get that working, add some more outfit related gameplay, and then push out another playable version of the game!

No practice art today - I've spent my time on coding for A Very Full House instead. I wrote code to make adding and hiding frames as easy as possible, then moved onto supporting animations for them. While adding the animation support I had a flash of inspiration: make the frames clickable! I had previously considered making parts of the main character model clickable (a feature I had in the early Unity demo), but Ren'py doesn't play nicely with that idea. Frames double as a convenient (fixed size) button that plays animations (or triggers events) when clicked!

As a side effect of turning the models into buttons I needed a new way to handle how models were animated. I had been planning to use Ren'py's default animation code, but it absolutely refuses to allow more than one animation to play at once. I've sidestepped that problem by just writing my own animation handling code. That also gave me the perfect opportunity to have animations applied at the "Person" level (as opposed to the "Model" level), so parameters are automatically shared across every displayed model that is linked to the same character. When you slap our MILF's butt her full body image syncs up with the jiggle perfectly!

I'm really liking this "frames" concept, so I'm diving right away into a boob-focused frame next - I have the basic layout sketch finished already. I also have some fun ideas for how these clickable locations can be used for sex minigames, but that will have to wait until much later in development.

I'm trying out a new mannequin program today (Free trial of Design Doll), as well as a new sketching style. The goal is to sacrifice a little quality, but speed up how fast I can practice the basics of proportion, perspective, etc. Overall I think I'm happy with how it's turned out!

I spent the last couple of days drawing out the MILF's animated boob frames. Part way through working on this I realized how much better her boobs looked if they were allowed to clip past the edges of the frame. I think the effect is pretty great!

Here's a gif looking all of the different outfits currently supported:

The frame-break effect was so good I went back and updated the butt frame to use the same thing, although it only comes up with some extreme motions (but that's where it looks the best anyways!).

In other A Very Full House development news, I made an important improvement with how animations are played. First, I've updated how animations are stacked to avoid them saturating the range of motion available to the model (As an example, two animations that use 60% of the motion range each now resulting in using 84% of the motion range, instead of maxing it out and causing very janky animation). I've also updated the physics baked in each animation to include full boob and butt motions, even if those areas aren't visible. That means all the animations properly wiggle, jiggle, and bounce the whole body when multiple frames are being displayed.

Now I'm updating the old existing events to use these new frames and polishing off some minor TODO's, then it will be time to do another release!

Today's practice is focused on drawing different body types, going from a default form to a short stack goblin! I was planning to leave this as a B&W sketch, but I ended up having too much fun and coloured in the final step. I'm sure nobody will complain.

A Very Full House work continues to go well! All of the animation and frame stuff I've added seems to be working flawlessly, and I've gotten just about everything updated that I want to update. The last thing on my checklist is to add some sort of pool event so that I can show off the different swimsuit outfits. I'm not sure what that event is going to be, but I'm sure something will come to me!

I'm a little late with my update today, but for a good reason: I've just released another version of A Very Full House! Bug hunting took a little longer than I had budgeted for (and I'm sure there are a few scattered around I haven't found).

Next up on my major TODO list for A Very Full House is to draw art for all of the NPCs (at least the starting art for the 5 major ones). That means I need to draw a lot of masculine forms, which up until now has not been a focus of my practice. For today's practice art I did some mast/fem body drawing, trying to get a feel for what bits I should be emphasizing.

There will probably be more body type practice for the next few posts, along with some concept art sketches to help me get the "vibe" of each character correct. I'm also going to need to practice male figures other than "fucking ripped", but I'll get to that soon enough.

Okay, I know I said I need to start working on the male NPCs, but I couldn't help myself from doing some concept art for the household's cheerleader. My goal here was to nail down any bits of critical characterization.

A major part of this character is going to be her favourite "lucky outfit", which she absolutely refuses to let you replace. You've been patching it every time it gets damaged, but you're running out of fabric to use. Your newfound corruption gives you a new idea: just make it smaller with every new repair! Through the game you'll take her outfit down from it's starting state to a silly-small tanktop, useless mini-skirt, and dental floss thin underwear.

Oh and it should go without saying that you'll have the opportunity to squeeze yourself into her cheerleading outfit too.
