That is pretty damn good. Did you use a Colour Mask or just add a slightly transparent layer on top of the original hair color?

tried colour mask at first but it came out to light the i messed about with some different colours and transparency till i got a brown i liked. i think it took me about 3 to 4 hours because i have the mouse dexterity of a cucumber sandwich. i envy those that can draw digitally.

If you like Photo editing and digital art I recommend a Drawing Tablet. I got a Wacom Tablet for about $100 AUD.

I usually crop and reduce it to 150px before I make any alterations. Things get a lot easier to work on when its essentially pixel art :V

spent the last few days going through most of the ingame art and editing it so it fits my liking for a player icon tending to use lesser characters or ones i tend not to encounters or miss on purpose. her are some that i have edited as it keeps with the art style of the game.

Now that you mention it, there is a lot of Donte/Dino energy channeled by that image, heh. I am curious, @Narmlet why can't you just use some online tools to crop and resize the full res version of that image ( and similar images from the same artist) to get the icons you need? Unless you cannot track the original which I guess happens quite often with cool fantasy art that gets shared around a lot.

Also, these are the icons I created for the characters I am currently running. As an aside, I have recently found that the in-game sprites from Granblue Fantasy work really well as in-game portraits.

because thats an official art from Pathfinder
also i probably would take that image if all the "online tools" that I found could properly clean the background
