Nid are my favorite. It can all be blamed on the original Aliens movie too, AKA take what the other races give you and make it better for yourself.

Oh man, yeah. The Aliens are great for that as well, especially when you look at all the Alien variants they created in the comics and games (that were made before the newer bunch of movies).
You can blame the Aliens and the Zerg for my list of fetishes, heh.

Would you look at that!
Woohoo! Tyranids are winning! Take that @Endwar @Candycane

I have a general fondness towards anything Egyptian. Since Necrons are basically space Egyptians so I like them too. I mean just look at those laser shooting flying pyramids! And contrary to popular opinion, I actually like them better after their lore was rewritten to no longer be slaves of the C'tan. It's nice to see at least someone in the 40k universe have the metallic balls to stick it to the men above and succeed in doing so.

Technically haven't they been trying to do that since awhile ago with Imotekh the Stormlord and Anrakyr the Traveller? I mean they even have things like their Tesseracts, the devices that cages C'tan my Necron lore isnt strong so feel free to correct the gaps in my lore knowledge.

@SarenSoran
If you'd like to be a member of the Orks my friend, then you better get ready for these things in the near future! 1. Being their next lunch 2. Squig chum 3. Mad Dok's table 4. Or the popular magic choice of the Inquisition!

I'm not exactly a 40k lore master myself. But from what I understood, originally the lore for the Necrons was that they made the deal with the C'tan to be transformed into metal bodies, but C'tan left out the part where the transfer would make them into mindless slaves of the C'tan. So the Necrons became tools of the C'tan in their desire to harvest souls to feast upon. In this original lore the C'tan were strong and power entities capable of even fucking with the Chaos gods' plans from time to time. For example like the time in Battlefleet Gothic's story line it was implied that Abaddon was tricked by the C'tan god Deceiver to capture the Blackstone fortresses in order for them to be destroyed at the end of the conflict.

Then the lore change happened which retconed the status of the Necrons and the C'tan. In the revised lore the deal remained the same but some of the higher up lords and kings retained their personalities even after the transfer, and rebelled against the C'tan, succeeding, shattering the C'tan to pieces and actually using them as weapons in their war, and most importantly this supposed to have happened a long time ago. All the previous encounter with Necrons were "re-explained" to be the Necron's self-defense mechanism at work, instead of them working under the influence of the C'tan. The above mentioned Deceiver fucking with Abaddon no longer make sense cause at that time the Deceiver should already be in pieces.

With all that said, I personally don't mind the change that much thanks exactly to the stuff you've mentioned. All the lords and kings with actual goals and personalities are now available for the Necron. You have more customization possibilities according to the different dynasties and stuff.

Some units also got new lore, like the flayed ones used to wear human skin just to be scary, but now they wear them because they are actually crazy due to being transferred to metal body and want to feel soft skin on themselves again. And the destroyer, destroyer lords used to have no particular reason for them having a hover craft lower body, now it's explained that these guys are absolute nut jobs who no longer mind becoming further and further apart from their former biological selves and just want to kill stuff more efficiently, for fun I presume.

Yeah be a part of a race that spreads like bacteria or mushrooms literately and figuratively. There's a reason why Exterminatus is used on most worlds with Orks, to stamp that fucking infestation out otherwise even if one spore survives the Orks will just come back again within a few generations.

Quite funny how the Eldar and the Orks were created by the Old Ones to combat C'tan and the Necrons, that said war lead up to the corruption of the Warp and the rise of the chaotic elements and daemons within it, how something so pure turned into something so impure due to negative energy.

I do love that about the Orks. If a whole bunch of them get together and think that red makes things go faster, then they will go faster. If they believe that their gun will shoot, it will, even if it is a pile of junk that would explode if a human tried to shoot it. The power of WAAAGH is quite interesting. I often wonder if this was intentional on the part of the Old Ones when they first designed the Krork, or just a side effect of being created by immensely powerful psychic beings.

And contrary to popular opinion, I actually like them better after their lore was rewritten to no longer be slaves of the C'tan. It's nice to see at least someone in the 40k universe have the metallic balls to stick it to the men above and succeed in doing so.

I have to disagree, I found that one change to be one of the most annoying and aggravating things they could have possibly done. You could easily have done everything else without re-writing all of the lore and history, and kept the awesomeness that is the C'tan. Kings and Lords retaining personality while still serving the C'tan would be entirely possible, the same goes for Flayed ones and Destroyers being all crazy from having been transferred into the metal bodies. If they wanted to redesign the units so that people could customize them more, that is fine too, god knows the Tyranids went through a crap ton of redesigns.

Quite funny how the Eldar and the Orks were created by the Old Ones to combat C'tan and the Necrons, that said war lead up to the corruption of the Warp and the rise of the chaotic elements and daemons within it, how something so pure turned into something so impure due to negative energy.

This is why I love Warhammer 40K so much. Also the Eldar didn't help things with all the kill-fucking they did, lol. They literally made a Chaos god in a shorter span of time than it took the other three to form after The War In Heaven.

Orks in a nutshell, this vid gives a perfect example, basically a fucking hard to stop battering ram of numbers, quality doesn't matter over quantity with these guys.

Playing Eldar in that game is not easy, you need to constantly keep your fleet at the longest range you can and keep moving, worst part about them is that most if not all of their ships have fore mounted weapons which means if the enemy hits you from the side or behind you are screwed.

I can see Tau hidden behind DLC, but Space Marines? Wow. Unless you mean chapter specific?

If I remember correctly you get to choose form four space marine chapters if you get the dlc. The vanilla game only includes I mperial navy, eldar, orks, and chaos. In any case you only get to play imperium in the campaign.

Nope, in BF:GA Space Marines are treated as their own faction, they're a branch of the Imperial Navy from the game but they are treated as their own faction, just like Chaos, Eldar, Orks and Tau.

Each faction you play you get to choose which sub-faction within that faction that gives certain bonuses. This only applies to non-campaign play though.

@RanmaChan In regards to the post in the Myrellion Closet Thread

Hohoho! Is that a challenge Ranmachan! Ewww I feel dirty now that I had to emulate Happosai to get the voice out, he is to me the single most annoying character right up there with that principal. Anyway, haven't you learned nothing from my adorable avatar that is the Imperial Guardsman!!! We will hold the line and no matter what filthy xeno may arrive (a commissar waaay in the back is bound and gagged as the troops under his command sneaked out to get some that alien booty) we will not back down! We will not fall into temptation! We will -a sultry gryvain, leithan, ausar and a pair of red and gold myrs all of them with wide hips, thighs, waist, asses and most importantly BOOBS, passes by and invite him for a romp- Uhhhh...

...MAKE PEACE NOT WAR! *Bolters and Las fires pelted where he previusly stood*

Hops on a Thunder Hawk belonging to the Alfa Legion Chapter with the girls in tow.

That Guardsman would later become the most heretical guardsman in the history of the Imperium, however his knowledge and ability to trade and consort xenos has allowed him to earn the title of a Rogue Trader, where he now commands the Imperial Cruiser the Free Spirit. Although tales of his...questionable marital exploits would have branded him a traitor, his loyalty to the God-Emperor remains true, and even now he continues to pay his tithe.

Within the Battle Barge 'Star Blazer' of the Salamander Successor Chapter: The Sun Sentinels
Chapter Master 'Endwar':*After reading the profile of the former guardsman now Rogue Trader Steele that is now under his protection and retinue*...Well that was a thing.

PS. Btw does this new species have a name yet? and what are they like? I cant wait to 'catch' and 'pitch' with the new race.

Damn Alfabusa and the Alfa Legion and their Chaos infused alien loving! Dirtiest chapter their is! A true servant of the God Emperor of Mankind would never associate themselves with them! Looks like you are the one who is gunna get purged soon!
Steele does sound like a Rogue Trader though in a way. I like that idea. Make a sort of TiTS Rogue Trader inspired hybrid game. I think it would only end horrifically badly though, lol
Also, what species are you talking about?

Why not? I made this a 'general discussion' thread, so you can essentially post what ever you want in here.
Was the Kill La Kill picture posted in here, or was that another thread? It might have been the power armor discussion thread. One sec..
Edit: Here we go!

Is this heresy, or win?
