I think TheDarkMaster nailed down most of my criticisms, with the exception of the water and bloom (since I'm playing on low graphics, I expect most graphical issues to be due to that). The only other critique I had involved the breeding options: as is, only nephelym that have compatible animations can breed, which means everything else can only be used for harvesting. Since the only real genetic trait handed down right now is color scheme, this isn't a super big problem, but it does mean that nothing else can gain levels or breed new creatures. It might be worth it to leave the 'no animation' warning, but allow the end result to take place, so that you can breed and/or level your harpies, for example.

@Cog: Thanks for the feedback! That harvest crash should be fixed in tonight's patron build, along with a lot of other bugs.
As for phenotypes, right now it's fairly primitive. The offspring has a significantly greater chance of inheriting their parent's color scheme, and that's it. Eventually, I want to open it up to body type, stats, etc.
Also feel free to voice what you aren't a fan of--I want to hear all feedback and improve the game as much as possible.

OK... I'm tested the public demo and some points:

1 - Put a map. Getting lost is a bad thing for players
2 - Make move speed AT LEAST 3 times faster. Seriously getting lost is already very VERY bad for players, getting lost while moving at 2 centimeters/hours is beyond horrible.
3 - A tutorial would be good, at least a button "help" when you press esc that shows what buttons in the keyboard do, and a small tutorial. Seriously one "go to the city to the left> talk with X> buy the monsters house> go to Y" would already go a LONG way.

These are the 3 things that were glaring the most about this game. I could question the necessity of a world that big if it's empty, seriously the road for the "hunting" places are pure waste of time, if you ask me. But before anything else be talked about i think these 3 things need to be fixed.

And i would argue that when you fix these 3 things THAT should be the "public" demo. Like for real, game looks good, but for the most part is boring. Before even understanding what i needed to do and wth was going on i lost a solid 20 minutes and i'm pretty sure alot of ppl would just give up and say the game isn't playable.

#3 is a bit saddening, as trappy monsterboys are seriously the gold market... but I'm hopeful we will end up seeing one based on the promise the game holds. If I were to give advice, you could always introduce a trappy-esque character as an Elite (barring story conflicts), and leave it as an optional road for those who want it to simply wait. It'd show that you're open to the content, and give room for you to provide Patreon voters who might be on the fence a reason to jump in to vote against/for it.

Polling topics such as trappy characters and features beyond just physical fitness will do you amazing work. I'm not sure if you've considered it/have it listed as an intended feature, but have you thought about including a "scale" for monsters? This would be the "tiny and small" factor, but likely require changes to how animations function to ensure no clipping or "floating" occurs. I think the reason people are asking is because of the clear inspiration from Cloud Meadow and Breeding Season the game seems to hold, where traits and breeding will provide different and more interesting things to stick a dick in or rub a cunt on. You're under no obligation to hit these marks, especially as a 3D game has more complexity versus the art-style and simpler structure of 2D programs, but it's something you should definitely consider moving forward.

Going to maybe be downloading the public demo soon, though, so I can get a better feel for where/how things will likely move. I'm definitely hoping you make good decisions and heed to all the communities you involve/bring into your development fold, since so many have made crippling mistakes in the past by alienating these groups. A lack of transparency is a downfall many XXX game-devs tend to suffer from (understandably), so conquering that as you have by immediately releasing the public demo to back you validity is a good move. It's clear you're looking forward and staying on task, and that's something that really is rare.

And I'll toss a PM yer way with a typo collection once I'm in the game. As one of the many writers around the forum, I'm all for helping polish any of that crap outta games when I spot it =3=b

It is worth noting that it is generally easier to adapt 3d animations than it is to adapt 2d ones. As long as the actors all have the same relative shape and size, you can adapt any scene or animation to any two bodies. 2d animation is much harder, since you have to actually animate each body separately.

I just figure the exchange of art style is replace by finding ways to alter animations for the different model sizes/make new ones from the old somehow.

It's all thankless work, but if it's easier then maybe it's not as much of a stretch to hope for altered sizes of the nephelym.

3. It ain't a make it or break it type of fetish for me, I just have this weird thing about feminine and submissive sexual partners. And it doubles for folks or archetypes that are normally not, being made submissive. Traps, muscular women. The act of perceived submission to me seems to be my actual preference rather than sex or gender. However, a trap could simply use a slightly altered female model if the idea ever interests you. It's a popular and not usually implemented well fetish.

Note: it's a similar thing for hermaphrodites and shemales when it could to the 3d model as well. It's not my intention to pressure you into adding my fetish to your game, just some thoughts on the topic.

Edited Addendum: Is there intention for perhaps a building or something to set aside our favorite "pets"? Like say I finally got that athletic Bovaur or something that really scratches that itch but has terrible stats/takes up space in the barn and we don't wanna accidentally sell or something.

I think I somehow ran smack into a genderbent Vulwarg right out of the gate. I didn't try to capture it, more fool me, since it was the first Vulwarg I'd found and I was looking for foxen. Did I actually see this, or am I completely off my rocker? I may be misremembering.

@Miscellaneous Forum Viewer, I'd guess, though DerelictWulf would have to confirm, that getting a fit Bovaur may become a great deal easier once fit is turned into a phenotype instead of random chance. After all, this is a breeding game, so my hope is that you could breed for fitness instead of having to rely on luck. Though I agree that being able to bookmark or otherwise set aside favorites could be quite useful.

One thing that would be helpful for players is if there was a publically available list of all animations in the game, along with which version they were added in. That will make it a lot easier to find the scenes in the game and with which player characters rather than having to rely on trial and error.

I read through the whole Patreon post and this looks like a really ambitious high-quality project! I love how it caters to such a wide audience and is very inclusive! The fit/fat is an amazing feature that is definitely something I'm looking forward to! I really wish you the very best with this!

Just as a personal preference, for the current revealed Nephelym, the females hit all the right buttons with the human faces with animal features (more of a kemonomimi design style rather than full on furry, with the exception of the Vulwarg female). But the males almost all have animal heads and furred torsos. I was wondering if there were any plans to release male Nephelym with human-ish faces? Or perhaps have alternative males - some more animalistic, and some more human and more similar to the females. I would love to have some males that I could have fun with too! No offence to people who enjoy furry (I always support someone's right to get their kink on), but for me personally, full-on male furry is a bit too much for me, but kemonomimi of either gender is always excellent. With the current roster, fox-boys, cow-boys, bird-boys, snake-boys, yes please! :3

Anyway, that's just my personal preference, but I hope you would consider implementing something of sorts to cater to people like me! This definitely looks like something I'd like to support in the future! Good luck with everything!

On the other hand it may be possible to come up with a system where if animals are put together, for example, in a field, there's a small chance of auto-procreation occuring (assuming both genders are present). But that would take away the point of choosing certain traits/perks from one parent or the other, so maybe one could manually choose two creatures and automatically breed them while skiping scenes.

While you won't be forced to trek through any content you don't want, you'd still need to capture two specimen for it to work. But if capturing has its own sexual scenes then we pretty much hit another dead end for you.

The game looks good so far and for some reason reminds me a bit of Fable. The only complaint I have is that whilst the female characters look mostly like beautiful women with enough animal features to seem unique but not unattractive, the males look a bit too like animals. I personally find the male characters a bit off putting. I suppose I'll hope for some more human looking male characters.

The game looks awesome, I like the style!
I know the used engine, and I never heard that the developer had a problem with porn games.

I don't like Patreon because I have always the feeling there is no or really slow progress. There a many nice adult games on patreon, but many of them seem to be dead.
Yes 2$ are not much, but I don't want to use Patreon... will you sell the finished game... or sell a "early access" version?
And please show more progress to the public! (release older versions, showing more pictures...)


a few suggestions:

Wild creatures should look more feral (like the male, maybe a bit more) and if they breed with the human breeder the offspring should look more human. (Crossbreeds should look like... crossbreeds)
The cam controls while breeding is a bit inconvenient and the zoom goes not near enough.
A way to disable auto progress while breeding
The character need a sprinting animations to get faster to other places. (and also need a zoom function)
Sad to hear that there is no pregnancy... (maybe just a few days... and after birth a short "young" period.)
There should be more things to do except breeding, like growing food, cleaning the stables, searching special items in the world or just play with the creatures.
The well in the town looks a bit exaggerated.
The big structures on the mountains destroy the nice forest feeling. (behind the breeders house)
The "taming" is boring, maybe lure them with a trap... or with the breeder her/himself (like trials of taintet space fighting but with only with the teasing feature)
I miss a equine race.

If I'm being honest, I don't know enough about the game to theorycraft jack diddly, nor do I see a point in doing so at this stage. I haven't even tried it yet, and won't until I know there's going to be a game there for me to enjoy.

That's why I asked my question in the first place. Your initial reply to that question read like you were deriding me for asking it at all, and this entire conversation has felt like a long derailing from the whole reason I asked it.

Sorry. Though I've noted that catching nephelym is not terribly difficult, at least in this iteration, so I suppose it could be played as a 'hunting and training' game rather than a breeding game, if you wanted to stick to same-sex stuff. Not that there's any animations for that (yet).

Hopefully if they end up adding any... Intersex... They will include Male-Herms rather than doing what Breeding Season did and only have... Futanari... available, which the only effect it had on such things as Dickwolves and Butt Stallions was to allow the trait to be passed on to female offspring... Not really into intersex though, especially not Futanari, which is not much if anything more than a hyper herm, hyper being something I dislike on various levels.

Joking aside, what is the difference (in your opinion) between a futanari and a hermaphrodite? I think it was FreeCities Author who noted that everyone seems to have a different definition of the term.

In more game related news, @DerelictWulf I've tried to catch an example of each monster in the game so far, and I noted that there's a finite, draining pool of money in the game. You can get money from the various vendors by selling them objects, but their pool doesn't renew, and buying buildings doesn't put the money in the carpenter's inventory, so it's deleted from the game. This means that you cannot get every housing type, which means you cannot get every monster type in a single game. I think this could be fixed simply by redirecting the money into the carpenter's inventory so it stays in circulation. At the beginning of the game, I think there's enough in the pool to get the later buildings.

There are more "constants" with Futanari than there are with hermaphrodites, femininity and... size are the most common, presence of external testicles is... About as likely to be seen as it isn't.

As for hermaphrodites in general, while a feminine form is still prevalent, what makes one qualify as herm is that they possess both a dick and a vag. Breasts... Balls... And whether they APPEAR to be Male or Female... Or Androgynous --shrugs--... Does not really factor. When I mentioned a Male-Herm, which is.... considerably less common, I meant someone with a masculine form, who lacks breasts, tends to have testicles, and.... A vag... Somewhere... Placement isn't concrete.

I can not really comment on the game except through what I hear from it, due to this computer being crappy and not letting me play X amount of games, but it does have my interest. I look forward to how this game develops, even if I won't be able to enjoy it myself for a while.

Though I've noted that catching nephelym is not terribly difficult, at least in this iteration, so I suppose it could be played as a 'hunting and training' game rather than a breeding game, if you wanted to stick to same-sex stuff. Not that there's any animations for that (yet).

That quote by the OP is literally the reason I posted my initial question in the first place. That is what I wanted extra clarification on, as regards whether or not there would be an actual game left without being able to breed in a breeding game.

To put it another way, when I play a porn game, I want it to actually be a fun game beyond just the fap material. If all I wanted was to have something to fap to, there's plenty of porn that I don't have to stop using my hands to interact with available.

As such, from my PoV, if the same sex inclusion only extends to the sex itself, and not to the actual *game* part of the game, it's an utterly meaningless token effort. Whether or not that's the case here; that's what I want to know about.

Although it's a bit late, regarding @TheDarkMaster's compromise solution, that would likely work for some folks, but tbh, I don't even want to *look* at watermelon titbeasts, let alone capture them and make use of them over and over. By the same token, I'm sure there are people that only want to own nekkid females and no males in their breeding pits.
