Then AFAIK, no. You can see any new posts in Watched Threads and/or Watched Forums from the links at the top of the page (you can "Watch Forum" in the same way as "Watch Thread").

Why was it important to always have less people listed than are signed onto the forums on the front page? Like:14 if you have 16 and 5 if there are 7? Just list as many as it can reasonably handle at the most. It's annoying to not be able to see them all when you know it could list more than the number that are on.

Wow. After people stated that Stickies were the exception? If they don't want me posting on this topic they can either fix something within the years they had before I stated it, explain it in a place that people look, or, I don't know, unsticky the thread, or lock it?
