Scaldic Cadence and Frostwarden are two stances that do near identical things. According to the wiki, here's what each do.
| Scaldic Cadence | Frostwarden |
| On Use: Generate +[30 + 3 * Presence] Threat | Generate +[10 + 5 * Willpower] Threat per turn & +50% Threat |
| +[13 * (Sexi DmgAmp)] Armor, Ward, & Focus | +50 Armor, Ward, & Focus |
| Primary Weapon deals an additional [20 * (Sexi DmgAmp)] Storm Damage | Primary Weapon deals an additional [20 * (Splpow DmgAmp)] Frost Damage |
For threat generation, Frostwarden scales better and will generate more threat when you have more than 10 Willpower.
For defenses, Frostwarden's static +50 to Armor, Ward, and Focus is superior to Scaldic Cadence scaling defenses. If we wanted Scaldic Cadence to match Frostwarden in defense, we would need 385 Sexiness.
For weapon buff, on stance start they do identical damage with the only difference being damage type. However, Scaldic Cadence's weapon buff will change if your stats change, like getting a Blessing buff, while Frostwarden's weapon buff is calculated based on your spellpower on stance start.
From this comparison, my main issue is Scaldic Cadence's poor defense scaling. The high sexiness to match Frostwarden's defenses, something that takes no stat investments or setup, isn't feasible to maintain in regular gameplay. To close the gap, I'd like to see Scaldic Cadence give +[26 * (Sexi DmgAmp)] Armor, Ward, & Focus which would make it so you'd need 192 Sexiness to get +50 to those stats.
Also, addressing the elephant in the room, Scaldic Cadence is a level 4 power whereas Frostwarden is a level 8 power. I can see the argument that it makes sense for a higher level power to be a straight upgrade to a lower level power. This is true for Heal and Great Heal, Cleave and Whirlwhind, etc. But I see Frostwarden as more of an upgrade to Earthward, which only gives +50 to defenses, and Scaldic Cadence as a parallel power instead since it scales off different stats.
