I mean I've tried to make different characters but when I do I just don't find a way to play or use that character. It's like you said, how does one roleplay such a person? For me my character has to be mentioned in some way like the special dialogue with Brint if you're a bimbo cowgirl or with Garret if you're a lupine or catfolk.
The tfs honestly help the roleplay for me. Whether it starts from Kas putting tits on a male character and they snowball from there, or the one kinda ditzy champ i did who just immediately eats EVERYTHING (and doesn't stop because they love the rush from transforming).
I basically use starting race to min-max stats and then do whatever feels right/fun from there, and use that to rp from. Picking a main npc to romance definitely helps (my first example only has those long ears for Quin to wrap around his fist), but I don't need it (the other example just basically wants to be treated like a hole).
But then for me, the transformations are the main attraction. If that's not your fetish, I guess I can see how it would be harder to play with.

This is crucial to a game like this being feasible. A good chunk of the consideration when writing for these games isn't necessarily accounting for each and every variation possible, but not writing something that contradicts the player character. Like you said you can fill in the blanks in your mental image or whatever of the scene if something isn't explicitly mentioned, but if the text all of a sudden says you have toes when you have hooves, that's going to stick out. Greater support for specific transformations is always appreciated, but it definitely suffers from diminishing returns. I'm reminded of Baldur's Gate 3's somewhat recent patch notes where they mentioned how they have many races and classes and character creation aspects, and something like 40% of all characters are just default human guy warrior. You have to pick your battles or nothing gets done.
I like the TFing system even without any sort of TF fetish simply to tune my player character how I want, which is how I imagine a lot of people are. I've played a lot of porn games where there was something about the MC (usually personality but also physically) that turned me off or at the least could have been better for my enjoyment. It allows me to change any of those immersion breaking things I mentioned above. The beauty of the system is that it allows people to play as themselves, play as an idealized or fantasy version of themselves, or play as anyone or anything else entirely. Wanna play as a half-pig half-manticore cboy with a preference for getting fucked in the ass? You can!
I'm kinda rambling but I guess my point is that the TF system supports people "tuning" their player character into an ideal outside of the roleplay aspects of transformation itself as a sort of character creator, while also allowing people into the transformation fetish to change their character very much in-roleplay, and both are equally valid. It's a fun system that I'm glad we support, even if it is a lot of work.

Has a Noble Harp that while we buy it in-game I like to imagine hestole took with him ever since he bolted out of his previous life for reasons I've not yet expanded too much on yet on that notion of backstory, like a memento to remember his past or something like it, he always has one on him as well and thus keeps a one-hander weapon in his main hand just to keep the harp on. Later as he gets more experienced likes to mix some healing powers alongside his songs into his arsenal to be a sorta hybrid in specialty. (Which I reflect in-game, I still can't find that perfect mix of White Mage/Charmer mix yet tho.)

I doubt Dove Wing marked Sylvan will reach the number of days fox-tailed one did (170+, my longest number of days spent in a fengame ever), but it was for the best....
