At least from the few examples that this has happened, it's usually never a good idea to self-code your own stuff, because there might be stuff that you can miss, either mechanically, gramatically, or character concept-wise that an editor or any other person that can give you insight to your works that they might see. Case in point, Pippa. Really would be good to avoid another situation like that. Also compared to like the beginning of the year, we actually do have a decent amount of volunteer coders stepping up to the plate now! Quiet Coyote, Whimsalot/Stygs, DrunkZombie, LighterFluid, and Upcast Drake have all stepped up to the plate marvelously in that regard!
The main thing this game lacks is dedicated editors/content reviewers. This is what's really holding back the game as far as fan submitted content goes, as Fen is the only one that handles this job currently. Conversely, there isn't really anyone that really gets down to the knitty-gritty beforehand and give consistent feedback on a technical level before it reaches Fen's eyes, so he could be slogging through a 50+ page submission and probably turn it down at the gate because something like the grammar isn't up to snuff. As far as I can think, I believe the current review pile is still dating back to mid to late summer, and progressively longer in time span.
If my coding works we save a lot of time, if it doesn't well there is still the readable version they can use to code it themselves. So, I'm only wasting my time.
speaking of coding, when i finally open up the briha and lys xpacs for review and editing/parser tagging would you mind taking a cursory glance? seeing as i'll be using your examples to code the gunsmith portions i'd figure your input would be importent
Yeah, sure.
