Uveto Deep Sea Dungeon
First attempted with an older save (made about version 7.18), Adam the ranged level 10 tech, Hardlight Dagger, Apollo Laser Rifle, Goo Armor and Bimbo Sigewulfe. Quickly realized that Sigewulfe would not be very useful for this dungeon. Curses. Jellyfish mobs and Typhoon fall handily. Get the Depthsuit and go to the generator. Boss chain grapples my character, locking me down and doing direct hp damage. Curse myself for not taking any healing items. Burn down boss shields, do a little damage, but the DPS race is over and my old Steele is down. Mourners omit flowers.
Second attempt, same character, better gear. Trick Bracer, Lash Cannnon, Yellow Modded Suit and Bimbo Sigewulfe(yes, I am an idiot). The Jellies give me more trouble because of their health regen from electric attacks, so I end up stabbing them to death. Typhoon uses new tricks (sonic attacks which bypass shields) annoys the piss out of me, but I still beat him. Boss rofl stomps me because of my poor choices(my drone choice doing nothing, electric damage heals boss, etc).
Third attempt, same character, goes to Tarvos nursery storage, then realize I sold the Apollo about 200 in game days ago, so I pick up Emmy's Salamander Rifle from my storage. Switch out Sigewulfe with Tam Wolf. Jellies and Typhoon fold fairly easily. Boss is a bastard, but I burn it down before it grapples me to death. Pissed I have full shields, but only 26 hp left. Couch is an evil genius.
I briefly wonder if a melee tech would have as much trouble here if they had a good energy melee weapon that wasn't electric.
New character: Rex the hammer merc.
EVERYTHING got stun locked. The boss did take out his Reaper MK. 1 (115) shields out in one hit(!), but after that it was stun town. Happy that the enemies weren't super evasive like in Zheng Shi. Didn't need to Second Wind once.
New character: Malory the ranged smuggler.
Haven't touched her in a while, and when I load her up I realize that she's pregnant with Rahn babies. Debate if I should go to Tarvos to wait it out. Fuck it, Malory is a bad mother. Off to Uveto. Gear: Queen Nyrean Spear, Hirudo Devorer, Gray Goo Armor, Light Jetpack with Prototype Pirate Shield. Alpha Strike plus Shot First equals Jellies didn't stand a chance. Typhoon is a pushover. Get the depthsuit, picture the absurdity of using that plus the jetpack under water. Get to boss, my first two flash bangs fizzle, then I try the Mag-lock stun attack. Great success! Aimed shots burn it down. Not bad for a bulky belly mum.
Would try it with other builds, but to my horror, I restarted my ranged merc and Sterling is on Tarkus at level 4.
Over all, fairly tough. Boss is super annoying with the grab attacks. Static Burst seems to heal boss? I would not be oppossed if they cost energy and the boss had to spend a round recovering when energy hit 0. If the boss was stun immune... *shudder*
Moral of the story, pay attention to what the NPC quest giver says.
