And for the love of god, man, CARRY SOME HEALING ITEMS!!

It took me dying four times to finally make it through (same way as =) ). It would have been SO much easier if you'd carry some Healing Poultices or Field Surgeon's Kits, and Pexiga Potion for energy.

It also wouldn't hurt to carry a back-up weapon or two.

And keep evasion above 0. Negative evasion is bad, you take 4% more damage for each point of it.

I know it doesn't belong to the quest, but maybe instead of being hidden in calculatedamage.as, it could be a status effect (encumbered or something like that?) to give it some visibility, so the player knows what's going on? *Looks at DrunkZombie*

Level ten tech specialist, I've noticed a few tips for anyone doing it like me, my character is heavily shield reliant, and trying to use the surge to reinforce my shield is near useless. However! With high intellegence stats, a single overcharge blast did massive damage and with the extra power from the drone (and romoving a pair of shield things that made me take 50% more electric damage) I managed to win. I think it is a very fun fight, if a bit difficult which I do like. I really need to up some of my base stats though

I did this quest just a couple days too. I quite enjoyed it, and it was easy-peasy with my heat-weapons, so fortunatelh for you, I accidentally hit myself with throbb after finishing the first time when I meant to head north so I ended up playing multiple times, adjcdjadjjajdj. Janeria spawn I could kill in a few hits (one-shot if I have the Laser Drone equipped for the most part). Typhon is insanely easy when I spam him with Thermic Disruptor, but regular attacks put me close to death and I would have died if I hadn’t just T. Disrupted him.

Janeria herself is a bit rng on difficulty I noticed. First time, I killed her without much trouble. Second time I got a full loss after she did the huge opening thing and I decide to power the thing down, which also killed my shields, so she got me next round. Third and fourth times (yeah, fourth time happened because I forgot I didn’t save beforehand before examining what happens if I hand in the key cards) I killed her quickly by spamming T. Disrupt and my Plasma Blade, but she also didn’t do the opening thing again.

I would say she’s a reasonably tough opponent provided you have either heat or freezing based weapons/attacks, and we get a clear warning to do so before the dungeon starts, but YEESH, even then she’s pretty darn tough if you don’t have something like T.Disrupt on you.

Oh yes, I am a level 10 Tech Specialist equipped with Plasma Blade and Teyaal’s Plasma Caster. Also had the Drone starter perk so I could switch my Siegwulfe out for the Laser Drone, but I kind of wonder if I’m not better off keeping Sig with me so I don’t have to panic every time my shields go down. I kept Laser Drone anyway for heat damage, but in hindsight, it may be a bit redundant for my class build and weapons/perks.

EDIT: Oh yeah, question: I incidentally was toting my Goo Armor in my inventory and discovered she could gain the Janeria’s shield ability. I am thankful I always have her on even when I feel like a change of clothes, but is there or would there be an alternate way implemented for her to gain that ability like how the generic ganraels are alternatives to beating the Crystal Goo Incubator?

Thanks for all the feedback Prince Thunder Spark and Shura. Janeria is meant to be a tough fight for a level 10, especially if you don't have the right load out. Instructions from the writer was "on par with frostwyrm". Based on your feedback and other's I'll probably put in a limitation on how soon it can use its main special attack. I wanted to give some time to gather feedback first. It has been a while now so I will look into doing it soon.

On the goo armor upgrade. Currently there is no other way to get it. Perhaps if someone writes some more janeria content it could be added.

Hey, So I get that this is supposed to be a mega-difficult boss, but is it to much to ask for a way out of the fight? It's basically a one-way trap that my character is unprepared for and I can't beat the boss. I'm trapped down at the bottom of the sea and basically forced to restart. That's super uncool...

You don't have an earlier save? You could use the save editor to edit in some sweet burning or freezing type weapons.

Also, pay attention to what the NPC quest givers say...

Level? Class? Stats? Equipment? if you post your save, one of us might give it a go to see if its doable and can forward you the save of after the battle.

Oh! I forgot to ask if there’s any reason to hold onto vs turn in the keycards? I held onto mine thinking maybe I can sneak back down the shaft, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. :1

Went into this as a level 10 Attack Drone Techie with the Custom Shock Gear and PiP Blade, as soon as I realized the spawn were soaking up the electricity damage to heal their HP and Shields I switched to the Plasma Sword which made short work of them, even moreso when I salvaged the laser drone from the AI room replacing my Siegewulfe Drone with another source of burning damage.

Janeria itself posed a bit more of a challenge, the PiP Blade and Drone tore through it as readily as they had the spawn, though... I made the mistake of applying Charge Weapon in the first round to short out its shields faster, which turned out to be a big mistake that let it hang on a few turns longer than it probably would've otherwise.

The Dungeon itself was pretty well done though overall, kudos to @DrunkZombie and @Couch it was pretty god damn funny watching my techie blow up the fuel cells with her Warden Shield though. xD

If you kept BessN around, you could have chuckled at smashing a pirate's head in with the Warden Shield during her last event.

As for the Keycards... I have NO IDEA. I don't think there's any particular reason to keep them, unless you just like hoarding shit.

I can't help but shiver at the thought of going down there with the lust-based smuggler I'm planning though.... Definitely gonna have to get the Supercharged Laser Pistol before trying that haha.

Go to Uveto. Be level 6 or above. After you go planet side to Irestead, go past the Steele Tech office and then go south to the square to the right of it. Go to Doctor Lessau, ask him about it. Save and prepare, then enter.

Currently there is no reason to keep the key cards and as far as I know there will never be a need for them again. Instead of just removing them to reduce clutter it was decided to let the player decide in case they wanted to keep them. Some people like mementos.
