Confess your TiTs sins in this thread...I'll start:

I haven't read a single Hallow-wiener dream because I have the sleepfapnea device set to no dreams and I'm too busy enjoying uninterrupted sleep to turn it off.

Whenever a document has open suggestions, I always suggest replacing the transphobic terms with more LGBT-friendly terms. I know it doesn't make that much of a difference, but I still feel like it helps people like me be more comfortable playing the game.

Same here! Mostly because I got caught up in playing another game and haven’t had time for TiTS.

I have not really played the game in about a year... despite still writing content for current-ish stuff. :p

Honestly I thought I was the only one bothered by the mass usage "shemale".
Yeah, it's been a long time for me, mostly because of work and my PS4.

Does it count as a sin to run as far away from preg content as possible? I'd be down for pregnant sex, but I just will not become a parent at all.

I literally despise the word "shemale". Just make them trans women! Call them trans women! There's no reason for writers to not just make them trans women. Also, really not a fan of the word "trap". Either you're taking about a trans man or a twink. It's literally not that hard to just be respectful of people.

In fantasy, not all shemales are trans, as they can be born that way. In TiTS, the only trans women are Kaede, Lerris and Prai Ellit (and, if you do the quest, Embry). And (male) traps are neither trans nor twinks. They just simply choose the "dude looks like a lady" appearance.

    Good, then I am innocent.
Terms like that are just gross and uncomfortable, and usually sound mean. I understand where Kesil is coming from, but it just doesn't sit well with me. And Embry is still trans even if you don't help her out!

Erm... Guys, don't you think that it's kind of strange to pour all that "tolerance" bullshit onto TiTS? I mean, EVERY part of this game can be insulting to some touchy people: 99% female characters in this game are sluts (which is a direct insult to any "proud feminism fighter"); religion as it displayed in-game can be insulting to any touchy religious fanatic; process of easily changing your gender can be insulting to some touchy transsexuals ("who lived through the hardships blah-blah-blah"); genetic modifications of children during pregnancy period can be insulting to purity maniacs etc. It's just a game, don't be so stuck up about that.

We're not being stuck up, we're saying it would be easy to remove the unneeded transphobic terms to create a more tolerable game experience. People become what they behold, and if what they behold is intolerance, well....
I'm sure you can guess what happens ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And that is what I was talking about - you saying that term "shemale" is insulting and you want to change it to "trans woman", some active feminist would say that such terms as "slut" and "bimbo" are insulting and would want to change it to "a proud woman, who wants to have sex" (or whatever), somebody else would say that foul words are insulting to them and will ask to change every "Fuck", "Bang" or "Mating" to "having sex"... And as a result instead of a fun ero-game we'll get some shitty tolerancy manual.
And by the way, I don't see how seeing the term "shemale" would make you intolerant to trans people. As far a I know, people mostly tend to judge each other by the actions and the behavior they see, and not some titles.

I don't think it's ever going to go that far, but the term is legitimately a slur, derogatory in nature, and makes people terribly uncomfortable. I'm white, so I wouldn't know, but I imagine it's as bad as a racial slur. Getting upset over our dislike is stranger, in my opinion.

Either way, this is a thread about bad things we did in the game. And I am still innocent. Technically. I feel bad for beating up Taivra just to get the Shade reveal, but I need that to happen.

    Love in an elevator?

Confession - I have never done, nor will I ever do the "Steele-as-a-sub" content because it just does not appeal to me.

Much sad. Could I ask why? I do Domme and sub content, and never understood why someone would be so against either role.

I only really read scenes once each playthrough although I will travel all the way back to mhenga with 100 lust just to rail Geoff for purely nostalgia reasons. It is the same deal with Lund, Kase and sometimes the raskevel trio... although that last one is too random I only go to pork their holes if i'm on Tarkus for some other reason.

Also I have a knee jerk reaction to praising every male char other ppl propose simply because I want more sausage in this kitty-fest. It is something i'm working hard to stop doing because just because something is my kink doesnt mean it is well written

    You called?

God, people tend to know feminism from guys like Thunderfoot. Yes, there is the tumblr rage crowd who have very weird ideas. Also a lot of things being 'sexist' in media is in the end: a matter of interpretation.

For example Moriarti in BBC sherlock is gay. Is that a problem?

In itself no. But when you hear the writers talking, how they wanted to create the biggest, most threatening lunatic in the world. Their looney and threatening image of man is gay... That's what I have a problem with.

TiTS anal scenes contain a lot of male power fantasy language. The main character "Grunt, slap..." while the sub "screams, whales" etc.

Is that problematic? Maybe. Who knows.

You can still enjoy media and criticise it at the same time. A lot of feminism analysis which does not come from the outrage crowd is NOT about banning stuff. It's about talking about media, looking at larger trends and think about what it says about us.

I think it's worth thinking about the use of labels in this game, rather than just going 'It's just a smut game, stop getting triggered so much!' Yeah, it's a sex game that primarily uses language as its building blocks, with transformation and exploration as its major themes. Fen's games attract a disproportionate number of trans and queer folk to them for a reason. It's worth thinking hard about terms that would be derogatory irl being used casually within the game.

Fen himself kind of swung and missed at this early on, when he dropped the term 'tranz' into the intro to refer to a dicked female PC. That was clearly intended to be his catch-all phrase for TiTS peeps with a less than vanilla gender/sexual arrangement. The problem with it is firstly it's really lame, like most of Fen's titles for stuff (he himself acknowledges he can't come up with names worth shit). Nobody was going to use it unless forced to.

The other issue with it is larger, and encompasses the phrase 'trans' too. Trans literally means transitioning, or transitioned. It's perfectly legitimate to use to refer to people irl who developed a different gender to their sex. In-game, Kaede is a perfect example of this. But is it really ok to use it to refer to someone who was genetically engineered to be born with both a functioning pussy and cock? What of someone like Syri, who kind of just got mashed up as a result of an accident? What of gender tourists, of which the PC can easily be, who could chop and change their genital arrangement as and when they wish?

The TiTSverse allows for far too many different scenarios for 'trans' to make sense - and that's just for humans and the human-adjacent. Almost all the alien races have some sort of exotic sexual/gender arrangement as a trope that makes a mockery of the term. Now, we can imagine a future where 'trans' has been used enough that its original meaning has been lost and has now become a blanket term for people who are basically non-binary. That's probably indeed what Fen intended with 'tranz'. But honestly, the term isn't descriptive enough! If I describe an NPC in TiTS as trans, what does that even mean? If I describe them as a futa, or a maleherm, or a trap, you know exactly what I mean, as uncomfortable as it might be to read.

Which brings me onto the second point, which is a more difficult one to make, but one that must be made nonetheless. These terms are loaded irl, and for many people - I'd even suggest the majority - that's exactly why they're hot. I love using dirty language in TiTS, I love crafting a scenario where I can call the PC a little sissy bitch, or allow the PC to run their mouth off about the big dicked supposedly dominant sort-of-lady alien they're topping. Dirty talk is great, this is where it belongs, in a fantasy game, and it's by definition impossible to create using politically correct language. You get a little thrum from those phrases being used casually.

So, ultimately: This to me feels like a circle that can't be squared. It's not ideal that we use derogatory gender labels in TiTS by any stretch. But replacing them all with 'trans' would be worse. The actual, baseline problem is that our own society hasn't evolved to a point where judgment-less labels that we could use for all the many shades of sex and gender exist. And so we must use the ones that appear in porn instead.

Well shit I come in and was about to jump into the whole argument, but guess I'm too late to say my piece. I just hope that it doesn't spark anything bad.

Also my sins, I destroyed Tarkus on purpose, I ran with one of the detonators and left Mitzi behind, I caused Myrellion to be glassed after helping Kara, I killed the ice dragon on my first time beating it and I don't know, I killed Zaalt. I'm the worst person in all of tits history.

For me "trap" ≠ trans, a "trap" is closer to a cross dresser than a trans person. However i would find it to be an insult if you insist on calling a cross dresser a trans person just because they like to wear clothes of the opposite gender.
