Through the badlands (for Woider)

[Ha! Nice one!]

Sammy had to think about that statement before she got it and then shook her head to get back on task after realizing what Jade meant by "inches". The blacksmith then saw them and remembered them from yesterday "Ah, it tis the two lassies! Good ta see you got somethin' to wear.... even if it ain't much.", he said blushing slightly. "I can tell just by lookin' that this gate ain't gonna hold when they attack.... so we'll jump them the second they break through.", he said explaining his plan.

 

[Woider]

"Just a big ol' melee of steel, huh? I like it..." Jade nods. "I will not be caught by these... filthy insects again!" She says, as she clutches her knife tighter.

 

[Reptillicus]

"Aye lass it'll be ruff stuff but i sees that look in your eye..... You're out for vengeance.", the blacksmith said as their gazes met. "We are out numbered so hitting hard and fast is really our only option....", Sammy said as she readied her sword. "Here they come!", shouted one guard as he jumped off the wall and landed nearby. Then, the wooden wall took a big hit then another, and another. Each time it buckled more and an load cracks could be heard until Smash! they broke through. "Attack!", cried the blacksmith as the first line of guard cats ran at the enemy their spears pointed forwards. The first bunch of Mantala to enter didn't expect then to just charge them after the broke through the gate so those few were taken down quickly. But, they were quickly replaced by more and the two mantises broke off to charge at Sammy and Jade, their hooks gleaming in the sunlight.

 

[Woider]

Jade snarls and runs at one of them in a rage, knife thrusting at the insects "chest".

 

[Reptillicus]

Her loin cloh billows through the air as she charges the mantis and the mantala soldier raises his claws ready to pierce her with its razor sharp tips. She was fast enough to dig her blade into the mantis's chest it make a cry of pain as green blood leaks from its wound but it does not falter. He tries to bring both of his claws down on her now that she's right on top of her. Sammy let the other mantis came to her, holding her blade out in front of her. Her eyes were narrowed and her sharp teeth were bared. She was taller now and this gave her more confidence in battle. She still felt woefully under dressed for the situation but her battle instincts and training were taking over now. When the mantis ran up to her with its hooks raised she used her raw saurian strength to bat them aside with her sword and then make a counter cut with across its side leaving a nasty gash. It didn't go down however and it eyed her angrily reading for its next strike.

 

[Woider]

(Oops, forgot to post earlier today. My bad. Also, is Jade on the ground or still standing?)

Jade quickly tries to shoot forward, and tackle her opponent off of it's spindly, incectoid legs.

 

[Reptillicus]

Before he can bring down his hooks Jade rams into him throwing him to the ground with her in top. He is stunned by this and takes a second to realize what had happened, giving Jade an opening. Nearby the other mantala and Sammy were clashing with hooks and sword, with Sammy fending off the swipes of the nasty insect and throwing her own slashes as she looks for an opening in the mantalas guard.

 

[Woider]

Jade grips her knife and jabs the mantala in the throat, before reversing her grip and yanking the blade to the side, trying to nearly decapitate the insect.

 

[Reptillicus]

It shrikes, then gargles as its neck is cut and green gooey blood leaks onto the ground. It lays there... having met its maker. but just then Jade was hit in the side and was thrown off of the dead insect by another mantala. Thankfully she was hit by the blunt side of the nasty mantises hook but she was thrown to the ground by the hit. Sammy and the other mantis were still exchanging blows until Sammy pulled a faint attack to the side to trick the mantis into trying to block an attack that wasn't coming. As the mantis moved his hooks to the wrong side Sammy quickly took a stab at the bug creatures midsection. she landed the stab with sicking slick as her sword pierced its chitin.

 

[Woider]

Jade rolls away on the ground and gets up to look at the assailant that struck her.

 

[Reptillicus]

She sees a taller and intimating mantis standing over the body of his fallen comrade. His eyes were blood red and there were red marking all along his neck. "You'll pay... weak vertebrate....", he said sliding his hooks against one another, making a grinding sort pf noise. Sammy kicked the Mantis off of her bade and let him fall to ground. She took no pleasure in such actions but some small part of her relished in the vengeance she was exacting.

 

[Woider]

"Then come at me, you disgusting insect! Die for your queen." She taunts, adopting a wide stance, fully intending to use her smaller size to her advantage. "So you won't have to mourn HER death."

 

[Reptillicus]

"...Your death won't be quick...", he said full of spite. He crouched down ready to spring or dash at Jade while he circled her his mouth parts and hooks grinding together menacingly. Sammy saw this new mantala and began to run to her side when a hook tripped her up and she fell to her knees. On instinct she rolled to the side and just as two hooks dug into the dirt were she was just seconds ago. Before the mantis could pull his hooks out a hammer cracked him right in the face and he fell to the side. "I got ya Lassie! Go! Help your girlfriend!", said the blacksmith as he hit the creature again to make sure it was down. Sammy scrambled over to Jade and ended up at her side as the Red eyed trooper dashed at Jade with an alarming amount of speed.

 

[Woider]

Jade tries to circlestep to the opposite side of the mantala relative to Sammy, so they're both put on the sides. In the event this is successful, she grips her knife and stabs the insect in the armpit.

 

[Reptillicus]

The red eyed trooper missed them in his attempt to ram Jade with the blunt sides of his hooks. Sammy took a step in the opposite direction making it so they were on either side of the mantala. she takes a stab at his armpit on her side making it so he was going to get stabbed one way or another. However this was a red eyed trooper one of the most skilled and dangerous of the Mantala troops, they were usually veterans of several battles meaning they thought a lot more tactically. When the stabs came from both sides he tucked his arms in, covering his vulnerable armpits with his arms so they ended up with their blades stabbing into his upper arms. While it pierced his chitin he made no sounds of pain or crumpled to the floor, even as some of his green blood leaked out. "What?!", Sammy said confused by the large mantises reaction, or rather lack there of. With both of their blades lodged into his arms he spun around while they still held their blades throwing them both into the dirt while their weapon stayed stuck in his chitin.

 

[Woider]

"Ooof!" Jade grunts as she hits the ground. "What the... tough cookie, this one is..." She says, as she gets back onto her feet.

 

[Reptillicus]

Sammy lands right next to her. "Gak!". she gets to her feet quickly, staying near Jade. "our weapons are stuck... We have to get them back.", Sammy said to Jade, her eyes not leaving the Red eyed menace. He seemed no worst for the ware, even though he was bleeding. He held up his hooks again readying for another attack.

 

[Woider]

"Okay, each go our opposite ways around him." She whispers, before getting ready to dodge and slip underneath his large frame.

 

[Reptillicus]

"Right.", Sammy nods needing no further instructions. She stands at the ready as the melee goes on around them, cats and mantises clashing. The red eye makes a gurgling cry and rushes towards them holding out his hooks out to the side, trying to snag them both in his claws. "Here he comes!", Sammy shouted.

 

[Woider]

Jade runs at him and tries to slide underneath him, and if successful, grab her knife and yanking it out.

 

[Reptillicus]

Unfortunately for jade the Red eye was more focused on her then Sammy, so when she went for the slide he swiped at her. He may not have pierced into her skin but his hook ended up stuck in her loin cloth's waist line by some fluke of chance. Sammy Meanwhile grabbed onto her sword and started pulling. it was stuck in there good! but with a heave she managed to pull it out! this caused him to stop and cry out as the exit was much more painful then the entrance for him.

 

[Woider]

(So is she dragged along or are her clothes ripped off?)

 

[Reptillicus]

(She's stuck, she can pull hard to get out but her clothes would be ripped off or she could use the fact that hes distarted to try and get it out of her loin cloth. I'm sorry i should have spelled that out. I thought she'd just struggle and have it rip off)

 

[Woider]

(In any event, it'll have to wait until tomorrow. Super tired.)

Jade tries to unwrap her cloth from the creature's hook, whilst he is distracted by Sammy's sword being pulled.

 

[Reptillicus]

whilst she's trying to get her loincloth unstuck the red eye snaps back to the present and his angry gaze falls back on Jade. He tries to take a swipe at her but Sammy's sword catches his hook and it stops right before hitting her. "Grab your knife i got him!", Sammy said as she held his claw back with her sword. Her loin cloth is freed from the hook but now there is a thin tear in part of the waistline.

 

[Woider]

Jade wastes absolutely no time in sidestepping and gripping her knife, yanking on it as hard as she can to pry it loose from the chitinous armour.
