Alrighty, trying to work all the exp stuff out. So the seven sailors probably don't count, since Klaus didn't capture them as soul slaves. There's Richie, and soon-to-be Pepper, if the latter counts for anything. Also, there were the two raveners he killed, which weren't on the list. Spell-wise, this is what I've got:
2 Perfections, 3 Fantasisers, 4 Fire Balls, 2 Lust Bombs, 3 Illusions, 1 Lust Ball, 1 Dreamwatcher, 2 Lust Auras
There were three failed strength rolls against the two raveners as well

Actually, I've changed the levelling. You get the XP for each human you captured, and once you level up, get to choose one spell to rank up.
"Captured" as in the sailors then? Sweet! I've got 40 EXP then. So "leveling in intervals of five," as in you need 15 EXP to reach the first level, and then need to collect another 20 EXP to reach the second? If that's so, I'll rank up fireball and possession.
