Tavros and Myrellion are my faves. New Texas seems a little plain... kinda wish it was an aerial view of the ranch and maybe some of the other buildings. Uveto is simple, but it's got a nice stark quality to it. Two thumbs up to Crossman.

So, what do you guys think about them?

New Texas could use an other point of view, it's a little too childish compare to the others like Myrellion for example.

I kinda think that's the point. Myrellion is a planet ravaged by years of war, and New Texas is vacation hub full of slutty cowgirls and hunky bulls.

I'm talking about the technic, the perspective is the same as Uveto but since it's lacking any building or objects in the foreground, the render is flat and a little boring.

Yeah New texas could use a little more than just a barn in the image.

Empty is the word you're looking for then, not childish.

Well it looks drawn by a child to me.
That's really harsh. The guy still took some time to draw those.
His landing pics look nothing like a child's drawing, compared to the actual childrens art I've seen. :/

It's empty looking, but it doesn't look like a child drew it, at all.

I know people are scared of "harsh" critics but when i see something who don't give credit to what an artist can really do, i'll point my crooked finger to it.

If all the others pictures are like 8 or a solid 7, New texas is a weak 5. Maybe the guy already knows that or he don't really care but without any details on his trail of thoughs, i'll say it out loud.

Period.

yes bing, 'cause google wont work at my house for some weird reason.

Personally I like all of them equally =)

Why does that picture seems so flat? No gradient or perspective. That's why i said it looks childish.

Uveto is flat with all the gradients you can clearly see? Whut? If anything it needs a few more buildings and the Stormguard temple, otherwise it's one of the better pieces.

NT just looks a bit... Wonky. I was expecting a bit more detail than a barn silhouette.

Everything else looks amazing, though, and it was a rather pleasant surprise.

There's a difference between "harsh criticism" and just straight up throwing insults at someone's work, even if it might be lacking.

This is an honestly good criticism that can help the artist move forward with their mistakes and improve on their work.

Well it looks drawn by a child to me.
THIS would just make me want to deck the critic to the ground if they said that about something I worked on.

/sniped a picture and some text

Ahh, I see what u mean. Although I think the artist here have put more work into each pixel than an average child would do. At least from what I\ve seen before =)

In my language it wouldn't be that insulting. Usually when i insult someone, you can't be mistaken by it.

That's why you have to be tactful with what you say no matter what "language" you may speak, especially on the internet. Nobody can't decipher what you mean what you say from just text alone. We only see what you write at face value. Furthermore, I don't believe you've been around nearly long enough for any of us to know what is or isn't an insult coming from you. What might be in all "good-and-fun" to you can hurt someone else inadvertently or start up a flame war or something if you aren't careful.

Well if you're on the internet you're old enough to put your pride on the side. All i wanted to point is the lack of work on ONE piece of art but as always someone is hurt and it's not even the artist. If you don't like what i'm saying it's your right and i respect that but don't try to convince someone who don't know you and probably don't want to know you.

I made my point, you take it or reject it that's all. I won't reply anymore since now this topic is flood by "u such a meanie" instead of criticizing art.

For the better or the worst, we're in a world in which phones and consoles have an Internet connection. People from all ages and walks of life can access it. Hell, I was 13 when I first got a phone with an Internet connection.

It isn’t what you say but how you say it. And, when it is, you back to back it up (e.g. the gradients example).

This reminds me of my 7 year old cousin's browser history, glorious indeed.

well judging the nature of this forum and games here we like to assume that most if not all here are supposed to be adults, even if not mature ones. So he has a valid point when saying that he expected ppl to act different than angry rebel teens

I really like the planet busts, really helps to visualize the scale of the area you're walking around in.
NT feels a bit odd to me because the barn is so far away from the road, so unlike anything I've pictured in my head of the area you walk around in, but it could just be a random barn somewhere planetside, not necessarily the area you see as a player.

Dof said "on the internet", not "on this forum". So far, no one has acted like an angry rebel teen. Unless you consider lines like

The landing at Mhen'ga with the approach to Esbeth reminded me of something... then I realized it was the approach to the rebel base in A New Hope that it reminded me of. Probably my fault for thinking about Star Wars too much.

So moving on, does anyone else look at the Uveto landscape and hear the opening chords to the Thing?
