I finally got around to replaying the entire game for a change, and I just want to say that I adore the prologue art. It is, without a doubt, the best thing I have ever seen.
In my mind, Kai made it himself.

I'm not doing general announcements about it, but I've just updated to 0.53.3. It'll help anyone who had the Ginasta bug at the start, otherwise it's just more polishing.

Haha, I'm glad you enjoyed it. ^-^ It's definitely the world as he sees it. I like the idea of changing up the art style for scenes, but the only other one is Qum's bomb.

Is there a chance of this becoming browser based? Like... Uploaded to gamejolt or newgrounds?

Is there something I'm supposed to do on day 2 of the Gathering? I keep getting a game over as soon as Simon starts the threesome with Iris and Riala. I did save edit some extra pron early in this save, so if it's a bug it may be caused by cheating. But if it's not a bug I'd really like to know how to proceed. There isn't even a message about what killed me so I have no idea where to look.

The problem is almost certainly that you're being shifted to a party that contains only dead characters (from the previous boss battle). I'm including something to make sure that everyone is healed up in the future, but for now, you can get through by making sure everyone is alive during those battles.

That worked. Apparently Nalili and Carina were still down from some previous battle. I don't use them too often so there's no telling how long they've been dead.

I really expected the Anak to have a stronger reaction than that to the thing that happened at the end of this episode...

Is there any way to get this game to work with a mouse and rebind keys like Renryuu Ascension? Cause they're both RPG maker games but i don't know enough about that program to know if the mouse and rebinding support is something the dev finagled in himself.

They're different versions of RPGMaker. Mouse controls and rebinding keys are a default option for Renryuu Ascension's version of RPGM.

Bugger, and i was really looking forward to playing this game too.

Why do you want to only play with a mouse? The key controls are not that bad, in fact I default to them even when I could use the mouse.
I do sometimes use the gamepad though, so if you have one and really dislike keyboard controls you could use that.

Also, this probably among the best written games I've ever played. So you would be missing out if you choose to not play it because the engine doesn't run with a mouse.

You can remap the keys in RPGMaker VX Ace games, just not from an in-game interface. Just press F1 and go to the "Keyboard" tab. You can't play with a mouse, unless the game uses a mouse control script, but you can play with a gamepad.

So i caved and went digging through the garage to find my ancient xbox 360 controller for PC, the battery is busted on it, hence is being buried in a box out there. So yeah, got into the game a bit, but the controls are never going to stop bugging me. Knowing jack shit about RPG maker games is there some massive difference between the version or is relatively easy to just port the game into the more upgraded version. Either from a player or developer perspective? I expect a total shutdown of an answer but i'm curious to understand it beyond just an assumption.

They changed the language for scripts and events. I think it was MV which changed it and that is also the first one which supports mouse.
Possible that there are plugins for it earlier, but even in Mv the mouse controls can be finicky or even buggy.

Aside from that, you can not really port it, even if the language is the same, at best you can copy your events. You would to redo everymap, every event placement and so on. A massive amount of work. On top of that, I do not know if you can actually use custom sprites from older versions, or if the graphical details changed as well. That would require even more work.

In most RPGMaker games, being quick does not really matter, but many actually want precision from you. In that case, you should move with the keyboards since the pathfinding of RPGMaker is ..weird.
Bottom line, porting it is a massive endevour with next to no pay-off aside from wonky mouse controls few people actually use. Sorry.. =/

As i figured.

I don't want to control the character with the mouse, just within the menu's. I've switched to the crappy controller i have anyway so it's a moot point.

I am enjoying the game though so i'll endure it but it's a shame such a promising game is stuck behind an archaic and constrictive framework.

Your insistence makes me actually wonder:
Is it more natural to use the keyboard for me, because I play RPGMaker games for so long?
Or is it more personal preference?
I mean, it is entirely possible that the mouse in MV is actually decent and it only feels off to me because of what I'm used too. ^_^

How do you pronounce Qum D'umpe? I know it seems obvious but i can see it having some difference to the usual 'cumdump' name, my curiosity is, by how much? Anything from just a flat 'cumdump' to a ridiculous 'coom deh-uhmpee'. Naturally i'd expect it to be extremely close if it isn't pronounced the same, like 'cum deh-uhmp' but i would prefer a specific answer... which i probably won't get from anyone but the Author herself unless she's stated it somewhere before now.

I kinda pronounce it semi-french. Or rather what I think french would sound.. =P
But yeah, it is very close to Cumdump, so just mispronounce Cumdump and you have a working pronounciation. :D

But you can ask the author, she is usually a very approachable and friendly creator. She keeps herself busy all the times, so not sure how long you have to wait for an answer though.

Does this game just keep getting more and more technically complicated as it goes on? I'm up to Simon's route in the Empress' country and i'm just feeling super burnt out trying to cover 30 precise options with 16 different possible outcomes, 4 easily missed bonus events and 18 other things to do each route and the wiki, as good a job as it tries to do to layout this labyrinth of data, still struggles to make it feel like there's a simple progression of actions to make, ala, do "A,B,C,D = yay happy fun times, all is good!". I'm scared all this work isn't going to pay off and i've already made two simple mistakes in the other routes that i've had to go back a fair distance to correct in earlier saves.

It's just feeling like work. I really enjoyed everything up until the party splitting up. Everything felt rewarding and relatively straightforward and i'm getting worried it'll never return to being like that. I can see the enjoyment to be had in complex games but this is becoming too complicated even for my hyper-autistic ass to handle.

There are a ton of hidden variables and more party splits to come. I suggest you just do a "you" playthrough first to enjoy the game and then if you want to go back and replay the game following the walkthrough.

Guuuuuh :( i can't really do that though. I'm not an outright perfectionist but if i know there are wrong choices and i don't work to avoid them i just lose interest when i start 'missing out' on what i 'want to see happen'. It's why i disliked the game Dishonored, knowing the best ending was tied to near total pacifism meant i had to play the game that way.

I'm invested now so i'm going to stick with it but i'm rather bummed the game took such a turn after i was enjoying it so much despite my initial problems with the controls.

I second the recommendation for a walkthrough-less first playthrough. Simon is a man doing the best he can with the information he has. Think about what your values are, and make your decisions accordingly.

This is a game about uncertainty, hard choices, and unintended consequences. Sometimes, there are no right answers, even when you do have all of the information. And even if a choice doesn't get you exactly what you want, you'll usually still gain some benefit.

Funny, I have exactly the same problem. Especially since I have so many games to play already (probably more than I could play in my entire lifetime) that playing a game through multiple times just isn't an option, so I have to get the best experience possible from a single playthrough.

A bit late, but there is only one way to get the best outcome: cheating.
Thanks to your limited amount of investment money, there will be failures.

The point is less that you manage to avoid them, but more to make the choices *you* think are the best.

There are a couple of situations where you are actually free to vote for or against something. Nearly all of them have benefits and drawbacks, leaving no real best choice.

So playing blind is not really that much of a drawback, you just lack the ability to prepare for certain situation less good.

You do need a walkthrough for some more ..strange playthrough, since you need to do specific actions to reach specific failures, but your goal should not be to create interesting worlds, but to try to steer Simon on his path. ^^

So, do not worry about making mistakes, since they are unavoidable.
Most walkthroughs are only efficent to follow the vision of their authors by calculating the hidden mechanics.
That does not create a better path, since the quality of the path you follow is, in my opinion, subjective.

I've found things have improved greatly. I've really been enjoying things again and am actually kind of stumped realising just how long and detailed this game is. I've completed the war against the IK and i had a great time doing it.

I especially have to point out that i love succubus culture, describing what we would called interests and passions as kinks and fetishes was repeatedly amusing. The casual sexual attitude being consider polite conversation, classy even, was hilarious.

The Qum bomb... that scene was magical, hilarious, and so adorable.

I still fear more of what i struggled with after the party first split but now i have hope that even if that happens again, more fun will be riding along behind it.

World building has been one of my favorite parts of this game. Taking porn/fantasy game tropes and actually providing a reason for them to exist beyond how common the trope is has created a ton of interesting lore.

Sorry for not being around as frequently. This game was intended to give the player hard/complex choices, but has in turn led to a playerbase that attempts to aggressively minmax to avoid those choices. I hope you continue to find pieces in it that you enjoy. Meanwhile, let me just answer your question from a while back:

How do you pronounce Qum D'umpe? I know it seems obvious but i can see it having some difference to the usual 'cumdump' name, my curiosity is, by how much? Anything from just a flat 'cumdump' to a ridiculous 'coom deh-uhmpee'. Everybody pronounces "Qum" as "cum" except when she says her full name, where it's more like the "coom deh-uhmp".

I am definitely one of those people. I have issues i struggle to navigate as an Aspie and the medication i'm on causes a great deal of mental inertia so difficult things are a struggle, but navigable, and new things are a struggle too, together they are extremely difficult but thankfully i stuck with your game and at this point i've actually developed an understanding such that it is no longer new to me how the game works and my enthusiasm and enjoyment of the game has given me the desire to plow through the inertia. Yes i've had to cheat in places, that doesn't bother me as it's necessary for me to be able to access all the wonderful content of the game. I often have to cheat to some degree in games, overcoming the inertia is often very hard and i am more interested in story and characters than gameplay, so when a good story is gated behind challenging gameplay, i either cheat or quit. I wish i could be someone who wasn't like that tbh, but i have to play the hand i've been dealt.
I have no problem with people cheating, at least so long as they don't report bugs caused by it. If that's how you enjoy the game, more power to you. You'll have a pretty idyllic postgame world, feel free to enjoy it. ^-^

That's great, thanks. So when she calls herself 'cumdump' is she pronouncing it as 'coom deh-uhmp' or only when she calls herself 'Qum D'umpe'?
Only the latter.

Since i'm approaching the end of current content (i assume, the guide page is not too far from the bottom but i just finished the council of gawnfall) i was wondering what the general rate of content release is like for your game? I tried mapping out a release time average and got chaotic results so i'm guessing it's just very sporadic?
I'd like to think I'm not too sporadic, but here's the data:
http://the-last-sovereign.blogspot.com/2015/05/version-history.html

Especially at the beginning, when updates were smaller, I tried to have one every single month. I've slowed down a bit as the updates have gotten knottier. You'll see breaks included in that list of updates, typically when I changed pace between chapters or released a game/book. This year has taken a lot out of me, so I asked my patrons for a sabbatical of a couple months, but I'm dedicating quite a bit of time to TLS again and hope to have another open world update in January.

I don't know if you dislike requests for spoilers but the only one i really want to know is if there will be enough shards for the whole harem in the end?
I don't generally give spoilers, but I've been open on this one: assuming you play reasonably, you won't have to leave anyone mortal at the end.

1) due to my cheating i've noticed the character stats profiling part just repeatedly grows, like new characters keep getting added but at the same time it seems like duplicates are generated at times. I don't really get why that is, another RPGmaker game i play, Renryuu Ascension, doesn't do this, it even has each profile named to the character, so i can tell it is not necessarily just some nature of how the software works, which thus leads to my curiosity, am i seeing what i am seeing and if so, why does your game do that?
I don't know what you're seeing, but I believe Renryuu is on RPG Maker MV, which is different software. If you're highly curious on this subject, I'd suggest asking on the TLS wiki:
https://thelastsovereign.miraheze.org/wiki/The_Last_Sovereign_Wiki

4) would giving a shard to Yarra cause her hair to darken back to a youthful black given enough time?
If she wanted it to, yeah, it would eventually. It would be similar to how Simon's body shifted to match his mental self-image.
