"Uh... Sorry to ask, but... Um... Can we... Rest for a bit? I'm starting to get tired." He says, slowing his pace down a bit.
"Ah... So what's at the other end? Open grassland?" He asks as he sits down, looking up at the giant woman. "I mean... I'm used to forests, but... This place is fucking scary. Excuse my language." He says.
"I see... Is it infested as bad as here? Are there any other sentient tribes out there?" He asks, looking up at her as he leans back, relaxing.
"Well, I suppose that's good. I can keep my droid safe." He says, patting Hina's head and chuckling. "She couldn't look after herself out here." He grins, before sitting up. "So Aila... Have you ever met any other infected sentients?" He asks, looking up at her.
"Well... Did any of them look... I don't know... Strong, sorta? Like... Was the virus good to them?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.
"The virus is a give and take. I did meet one who I know is still alive. A fellow named Wreck. He was huge and powerful, but his appearance was questionable. He had two arms on his left side that only had 2 fingers and a thumb, while his right side had one huge arm with all three fingers and a thumb like mine. He could rip a tree out of the ground and my axe barely broke his skin when he told me to hit him. So "good" depends on your point of view."
"Ah... Yeah, I suppose it is... The virus could make me powerful, but on the other hand, it could mutate me to the point where I can't even control my body..." He murmurs, frowning slightly.
"I am... I suppose I'll just have to keep looking..." He mutters, sighing, before getting to his feet. "Alright. I'm rested. Let's keep moving." He says, unsheathing his sword again.
The two girls nod and soon the group is on its way again, picking through the trees and bushes at a steady rate with Aila humming up in the front.

"Frankly? Yeah. Staying a human means a higher chance of turning into a feral like the ones from before. Look at it this way. If I get a leg up, I'll be able to keep both myself and Max from turning into ferals. Plus, the added strength and stuff will really help." He says, shrugging.
"Well, you'll still need to take care of me when the initial sickness hits." He says, patting her shoulder.
She mutters something under her breath but doesn't continue to pry as they walk along.
Aila suddenly stops in her tracks, grabs both of them and jumps behind a bush with them "Stay silent! Stay still." She whispers.
Seconds later Kai can feel the vibrations of heavy foot falls before a massive feral steps through the bushes, bending a tree as it does so! It's huge, thick body is hunched over heavily and covered in random patches of thick nasty fur. It just has stumps for feet and its legs are like tree trunks leading to a barrel shaped toros. It's arms are long and gangly, far too thin compare dto the rest of its body and it looks like they bend in multiple places. It's head it some horrible fusion of human and boar, it's lower jaw haning open and a barbed tongue hanging down low as crazed eyes looking around the area.
Aila suddenly stops in her tracks, grabs both of them and jumps behind a bush with them "Stay silent! Stay still." She whispers.

He doesn't even need Aila's directions, already frozen with fright. He just lays there in the grass, staring at the massive thing in sheer terror.
It makes a noise between a gurgle and a roar, sniffing around as if looking for something. It is slowly getting close to the group... it's going to find them for sure!

"Aila. Let's run while we have the chance!" Kai whispers, pulling at her leg, as his body tenses up to spring from his hiding place and make a break for it.
He gets up and just runs as fast as he can, mentally praying that the giant beast doesn't start chasing them instead of the feral.

"AAAAAAAAH!! THAT FUCKING THING IS AFTER US!" He screams, picking up the pace and running even faster, trying not to look back at the beast.
"Should we split!?" He yells back, narrowly dodging a tree. "We'll meet back up at the grasslands!"
"Here!" She hands off Hina to you "i will distract it... just keep heading north!" She says before suddenly turning and throwing an ax. It flies through the air and gets stuck in the creatures shoulder... which seems to just piss it off more!
Aila runs off to the side and the beast quickly takes after her.

He grunts as he catches Hina, and quickly shifts her around, keeping her arms locked around his neck, and grabbing her by the knees. He starts running through the forest, heading in the direction Aila pointed.
