I have a history of making a game more difficult to make it more fun. If you're familiar with "Nuzlocke" in Pokemon, that's the kind of thing I like to do.
Some rules for TiTS came to me in a dream (or at least while I was sleeping) and I had to get up and write them down (and playtest a little bit).
Essentially, it comes down to two rules:
1: Character must eat or drink once every 24 hours.
2: Obviously non-human changes must be fixed within 24 hours.
I have the consequence for the first one: If 24 hours have passed, use a random inventory item until food/drink. If no food/drink in the inventory, determine available consumables on planet, and purchase & use random until food/drink)
But I don't have a consequence for if the second rule is broken. Eating more would just make it even harder to get back, and if it's a true "lose" condition, it needs to be longer than 24 hours to get back. Maybe more like a week.
Any suggestions?
