Sort of. The thing is snapping at you from over the rail of the boat, and it's main body is too far from you to reach, even with a spear, so you'll have to figure out a way to hit the thing before you roll hack and slash. If that means baiting it into attacking you first, then roll defy danger. Otherwise, use your imagination, I'm sure you'll come up with something.
