On the third day of travel, the rain stopped, and the sea calmed a bit. Elliana, however, still didn't stray too far from the rail. As she leaned on it, waiting for the next bout of seasickness to come up, a sudden flicker of movement caught her eye from under the water. As she tried to get a closer look, her head was nearly taken off as something burst from the water at lightning speed. Elliana fell back onto the deck, and when she looked up she was greeted by the sight of a long, thin, scale-covered body looming out of the water. It was at least thirty feet long, though only about as wide as her thigh, and capped by a small, round, fish-like head that was filled with teeth too long for its mouth. The thing looked at her with large unblinking eyes, and lunged again.
