I have had several cold-sweat nightmares about forced Treatment. Only forced Treatment. Only that single, horrifying scenario in which a person is born into an environment, which they have no control over, and sentenced to a very particular fate no matter what. One that they are essentially powerless to stop. New Texas is not the problem. Bimbofication and cow girls are not the problem. The Treatment is not even the problem. It's the "forced."

Yeah, sitting in these threads and constantly dwelling on that with every post is probably contributing to that sort of thing. I know if I spend a bunch of time focusing on a topic or videogame it has a good chance of creeping into my dreams. There's far more terrifying things out there in videogames - reaper indoctrination and husks come to mind.

Terrible things can happen to you in video games.

@IVIysteriousPerson: Nonsense, I clearly explained the canon process on the previous page. In all seriousness though it's been glossed over on purpose because it didn't need to be explained. At least until Savin made Treated Reaha. Now we'll just have to wait to see who or what takes her away in the night.

@Nik_van_Rijn: Fen's not going to change anything. Stop distracting him from important things like ship mechanics!

I am taking issue with literally one minute element of the entire concept that turns it from light to dark real fuckin' quick. I'm not kinkshaming anybody, unless I suppose they have a kink for forced Treatment specifically. At which point... Okay, I am shaming that pretty hard, but it's a disagreement that won't kill anyone.

If you like NT, fine. There's a lot to like. There's one tiny part of it that sticks out really, really badly. And it's one part that isn't even addressed directly very much. It's one that most people that like NT don't even give any thought to, as this thread is clearly demonstrating. The fact that people are taking issue with Savin's proposed Reaha route is telling me that they never even considered the fact that the Treatment was forced on people. They didn't even think about it. Now that a fairly prominent bit of content is bringing that to the forefront of the discussion, though, people are realizing that it doesn't fit with their vision of NT, and it's doesn't mesh with what they like about the place.

Yeah, I get it Misty. The treatment is forced on people. It's gonna keep getting forced on people for the foreseeable future. There is literally nothing we can do about it. An actual resolution for the problem of New Texas is so far down the priorities list it might as well hang with the Angler Fish Girls in the Mariana Trench. I get that this a deeply impacting issue for you, but no one is going to change it...for now at least. I dislike the treatment too, I just know that I'm not gonna change anything. Fen has offered an actually solution to the problem in the discord. I'm sorry, but I literally can care less about dark shit that I know is not gonna get changed for (a) year(s).

This is the hottest thread. We have the best shitposters. It's going to be huge. And we'll make Savin pay for it.

@IVIysteriousPerson - Secret Squads aren't quite in the style of New Texas. They're upfront about the Treatment being there and being something that's going on. They really wouldn't NEED secret squads. So far as I'm concerned they'd be more likely to try to keep the DEVIANTS out at the border with "walls" of border-guard drones. You're assuming that because one thing is forced that they would use all the worst methods of various regimes instead of those that suit the character of their civilization.

Not the treatment, the goons that force it. Misty is disturbed by them and there practice.

Yes, okay, there are worse things out there. Like I don't have nightmares about those worse things, too. *eyeroll*

"Oh, well something is worse so this thing can't be bad," is one of the weakest arguments ever, and I know all of you know that.

Nobody is saying that. They're saying that your nightmares are because you choose to focus so exclusively on this and devote so much of your mental time to it.

Like this scene from Danganronpa 3. Brainwashing is scary as fuck and pretty much the stuff of nightmares. Then again, right after that the nicest character in series gets killed in what essentially is a torture porn maze.

Well shit, nothing we can do about that until the NT quest is made. Looking forward to seeing it when I'm 33 and wizard.

Man, I can't wait to take down a whole government and it's way of life that has existed for far more years than I have because I put a downvote on their way of life.

Savin's gonna have a fit when he reads the last 3 pages of this morality epic.

Personally, i agree with Mysty, but i believe Savin should still keep it the way it is so we can see the scences where Reaha take her anger out on the PC for her new... "assets". ( That would be fucking HOT) ((The subby side of me has been calling me recently))

It has been promised to eventually happen. You don't have to do it or you can get in on the deal. I believe if you fail you get forced treated so you know, more anti-treatment shit in the game. However all these details were years ago back when New Texas, Tavros & M'henga were the only planets and mostly empty.

I know, but a lot of people calling out anti treatment, when its anti goon squad. Even Fen mentions talk of rejecting Reaha's current path cuz of them. So ... when Fen gets time it seems, we might see a brighter NT? Fenoxo?

I'm in favor of the Treatment being an optional thing people are encouraged to take and 99% of the time will take by choice anyway thing that people are suggesting. I don't find the Treatment a bad thing and find the need for the Moostapo silly and rather needlessly mean, New Texas can function just fine letting dissidents leave if they want to. Also the idea that Reaha overreacted about the Treatment is hilarious to me, let it be!

To be fair, I'm anti-treatment as well, but I have no real say in the matter. I'm not the TITS developer nor the writer of Reaha, so that's up Fen & Savin to work out. People are gonna bitch and fit regardless of anything if it's related to the treatment and NT, whether or not there was a positive or negative intention in mentioning it.

I thought there was another option to put more treatment juice into the treatment mixture to make super bulls and super cows and everything inbetween.

So they're just separating them, which is akin to something I mentioned earlier of "tossing them in a jail cell until they agree to be Treated." Which is still pretty fucked up, but admittedly less so than a goon squad.

They could just let them leave, though. Would that really be so bad? Because it's a change that fixes everything. :D

Thats what he meant. They keep them away, where they can go off planet if they want, but they cant live in the society

So Savin looked at this thread after D&D. He's still doing the police kidnapping and forced Treatment of Reaha because he wants to make content that paints it in a negative light, presumably because I don't and he wants the contrast.

I am pretty displeased with this turn of events, but whatever. I'm not hitler, and I don't fucking care.

Nah fam, once this gets in the game it's gonna be (almost) worse than the Red vs. Gold Myr debate. I'm calling it reaching those levels first! So I still win!

Well I compared it to something that actually got kinda-removed from the game, thus higher than a thing that is actually still in the game!
