The once capital of the human empire was once a city of beauty. Now however it is a symbol of despair. Hags hate beauty and as such, when they moved into the city, went around destroying or defacing anything that could be seen as such. Now the best you could call the city is "well kept ruins". Most can still be used while new, more ugly, buildings have been built for those that are important enough to warrant them.
Ever since the coven of grandmothers took over the city, it has become the center of trade where everything and anything can be bought or sold. From bread to slaves it's all here and your group is one of the the city's top services. The mercenary group you belong to is under the command of one of the grandmothers that run the city though none of you have met her for most of the business is handled by a mind flayer named Quoor. He often deals with the clients and decides who will take the jobs.
The building that acts as the base for the group, is a three story building made of black stone. The first floor acts as a bar where the members not on a job can relax. The bar and kitchen are ran by slaves under the watchful eyes of the goblin overseer. The slaves are of different races and genders but are for work only, anyone that tries to use them fr anything else feels the goblin's whip. The second floor is used for housing the members of the guild. Each member can decorate their room as they see fit. The third floor is used as Quoor and the grandmother's office.
On this day a human woman wearing a mask enters the building and has a quiet one sided conversation with Quoor before being brought into a private room set aside for the clients. Little under an hour later she leaves the room. A little bit later Quoor leaves the room holding a piece of paper. After thinking for a bit he goes up to Verona and speaking into her mind.
"Have a job for you and four others." He sends into her mind the images of Rholard, Valk, Deltik, and Karess. He hands her the piece of paper. "The paper has the job and the amount you will all be paid, do not come back until the job is done." He nods to her and goes off on his other tasks.
