"True, though I never thought my knowledge would be used for something like this. I will have to open some of the books at home but I think I have one on monsters with nature aspects, particularly plant and insect monsters." They talk a bit more as they go, Zoe teasing him about his encounter with the slime-girl, though acting a bit jealous as well, and Alexander joking how the first thing she wants to do after being captured is get a drink, "Though that might also be your new dryad nature coming through, maybe you are dehydrated?"
Eventuality they get to their home without encountering anyone, a benefit of the their house being on the edge of the village even if it means they usually don't have company. After entering Alexander reminds his sister where the drinks are and requests a glass of the honey liquor before he goes to his study, really a small library at this point that is probably worth more than the house, and spends several minutes searching for books containing information on plant monsters and nature magic, eventuality he finds three books that seem to be what he is looking for so he takes them and heads back down to the sitting room. There he finds Zoe has not only made drinks, bringing the bottles to pour more, but also made two small salads with pieces of left over chicken added in, "At least she didn't try to cook this time," he shudders in memory of the last time she made a casserole. He also notices that his sister looks to be part way through her glass of cider.
Getting Zoe's attention he explains his finds, "Looks like your transformation didn't make you vegetarian, though I doubt you will need nearly the amount of meat you did prior, thanks for the meal. I did find some books that might be of interest to us, first is 'Malloy's Guide to Forest Creatures' by the Explorer Talia Malloy which is the one I thought about first that includes insect and plant monsters and even has a large chapter dedicated to dryads. Secondly, we have a small book I picked up recently called 'Walking Forests: Introduction to Nature Magic' by Glade Warden Aila Nairn. I haven't read it yet, it came with a bundle of books a trader was desperate to sell to free up room in his wagon. Lastly we have 'Richard's Almanac for Small Growers' by Richard Benson, a book on gardening that is pretty useful and might help you understand how some of whatever's abilities you have work." He then lays the books down on the table and takes a seat next to Zoe and takes a sip of the sweet liquor in his glass, enjoying the smoothness of it going down and the growing warmth it sets off before starting on his salad. "Which one do you want to start with?"
