"oh sure, i wish you two could stay though, you're great company we should totally get to know each other better at break time.", Ansky said with a winning grin. "but yeah i shouldn't hold you guys up i guess.... just head down the hallway you were going down before the signs should lead you right to the command center."
Mika nodded and said, "Yeah... lets get going...". They with a wave to Ansky as they made their way down the hallway. Soon they found their way to the big door with a sign that said, "Command center". Mika was about to open the door but then she felt the mind stone vibrate. Mika then looked around them and saw nothing. "I'm getting a mind stone reaction! there must be androids inside... or maybe even the other fragment...." she said to Penny softly.
Thankfully the door wasn't locked so penny was able to open the door easily. Inside they found a rather busy place. There were terminals everywhere and many people of many races sitting at them and working on god knows what. in the very center Penny and mika could see, to their surprise, a Ma-Jeem serving as Commander of this operation! (the Ma-Jeem are the newest race in the federation, they're seen as a bit on the primitive side.)
Once he caught sight of them the tall blue commander held them in his large red eyes. "Whats this? New recruits?"

"Normally you'd have gotten you orders by now... I may have to chew someone out for this.... regardless. Standing guard at the ruins remains should be your first priority! We have had word of suspicious activity in the area so while the more experienced soldiers scout around for any breaches you two will guard the ruins site in their absence." he said in a commanding tone. Penny then herd his thoughts. "...Hmm... these two look able bodied and fit! looks like we lucked out. Hmm, i should really make sure there identification is good... the last batch of recruits had some misprints last time." He sounded like a decent leader in his own right and a bit stickler when it came to details. Then Penny could hear a whisper in his mind. "Yes... check there identification... they could be fakes!" then his own thoughts said, "there I go hearing paranoid things again! I really need to see the medic about this... but... what if they are?" his gaze then looked them over in a much more scrutinizing manner. "Um... yes s-sir?" Mika said nervously.
"Sir!" She suddenly spoke up "I would like to bring one thing forward before we go and guard the ruins. I have... been hearing voices... in my head sir. Started a short while after I got here. Small things, trying to make me do things that don't match up with my normal duties. Any advice on that sir?"
This stopped his first train of thought immediately. "Ah... yes... allot of the others have been... saying things like that too...", he said as his long arm went to rub his chin thoughtfully. "It um... could just be the nerves you know... we all get a little up tight at classified jobs like this... makes the mind play tricks on you..." he said in an almost worried tone. She herd him think, "Hmmm so they hear things too? some of the other soldiers are saying the same.... even the squad leaders.... this is troubling.", then the strange voice said in his mind. "She maybe trying to distract you! ...she could be the one behind this maybe, you really should check them out! check their pockets too! they may have something that belongs here!" It sounds much more angry now. It seemed to be actively working against them now trying to get them caught! Mika had heard this and gulped. the Ma-jeem commander seemed a bit uneasy now he wasn't sure if those really were his thoughts or not.

Penny quickly continued "At once point, sir, it told me attack one of the other guards. It wanted me to take him down for some reason. I ignored it because that couldn't be my thought could it? I mean, why would I take down one of my comrades? Even more so... the voices got angry when I didn't listen to them... and that made it really easy to tell because I had no reason to be angry."
Mika decided to help in Penny's lie by saying, "Y-Yeah... why... I once herd a voice that told me to steal things! It was very angry with me when I said n-no!" The commander was now looking quite a bit more worried now, his big red eyes shifted about as he considered what they said. "No! see there trying to distract you more! voice in peoples head... what a load of garbage! DON'T LISTEN!", said the voice in an increasing amount of hostility. Then the voice came in loud and angry in Penny's head. "YOU! You and that group of yours is trying to expose me!" the next thing it said was quite chilling do to who else had said it before. "You miserable waste of proteins! you leave me little choice.... My creations will come for you now...".

Her eyes widen and she ditches the facade "Mika, it's vain! He is the one using the mind stone! He is the one messing with peoples minds!" She turns away from the captain and puts her gauntlets on "Get ready, the androids are going to be here soon!"
"What?! Him?! Here?!" Mika said fearfully. "Oh you're close, its a very good guess... but ultimately you are wrong who do you think "enlightened" him? Regardless... you are going to give me that stone!" the voice said its words clawing at Penny. "What's all this about?! what are you talking about?! whos vain?! you people.... you aren't actually recruits are you..."
Penny looked at the command with a disdainful look "Yea, that much should be obvious dude, but we have much bigger problems. Something is in this ruin that can infiltrate your mind, feed your fake thoughts and make you think they are your own!" She looks bakc to Mika "It isn't Vaine... it is whoever changed him. Regardless, we need to get deeper and find this thing" Back to the commander "Blah blah blah outsiders, how do we get deeper into the ruin?!"
"dammit.... if what you say is true... hell and it seems true enough to me... then we're all already in trouble!" The commander said looking with wide eyes. "Mr.commander sir!", Mika said raising her hand. "A-Androids have infiltrated your ranks! they'll be coming here soon! I-I don't wont your people getting killed over this. please help us!" she pleaded. "Ok... I don't really know you or what really going on but, I'll send out an alert right now and send for back up..." said the commander, anything that would have happened from infiltrating a base illegally would have to wait.
She hears them before she sees them. A shrill screaming could be heard down the hallway and soon Penny saw someone barreling at her! Meanwhile, Mika Asked the commander, "W-We have friends out side the base that could help! C-Can you let them in?" "I'll have to send word over to the patrol out there... to let them in..." "Oh t-tell them that its ok and Penny and Mika need their help!" Mika added.
The guy went flying back and hit the wall nearby with a whomp! Then another guy began running towards her form the opposite direction screaming madly! this guy had a soft of long glowing red stick in his hands! Penny may have recognized it as the G-2 Hot fencer: a sort of melee weapon that uses a heat infused rod to burn targets its strikes. The guy jumped at her and tried to take a swipe at her head with the burning rod.
That guy ended up flying into the air and landing on his back, his amrs in legs at angles that normal persons shouldn't... almost like he was a puppet. The Penny herd a scream from behind her and when she looked saw Ansky rushing towards her, with tow of the fake gaurds running after her both of them having hot fencers. "Heeeeelp!", Ansky cried.
Penny hit the other guy in his arm making him spin a bit and drop his hot fencer. Ansky mean while got behind Penny with her hands over her head, Then the second guy took a swing in a downward arc trying to burn Penny in two.
She back hands the hot fencer, the energy rings around her gloves letting her resist the heat before bringing her other fist up for a right hook across the jaw.
That guy goes spiraling backwards from the force of Penny's heavy gloves while the first guy was getting back up. Penny then noticed that the others that she had knocked around earlier weren't quite defeated an were staring to get up themselves. "You fool my creations are stronger then that!", she herd the voice say spitefully. Then Mika pooped her head out of the door to see Ansky hiding behind Penny. "Quick A-Ansky in here!" she said motioning her over.
She grabs the little kitty and tosses her over to Mika before moving over to one of the downed droids "yea well, I was holding back... but they are just machines huh?" She winds back her fist and slams it into the back of the droids head, crushing it between her glove and the floor.
The little kitty Ansky was thankfully caught by Mika, since she was so small Mika was easily able to carry her quickly into the command center. The android she smashed to the floor made a cringe inducing cry and its had was crushed by Penny's sheer strength. just then two other made coordinated go at her both trying to lands hit with there heat fencers. "You can't hold them off forever! soon they will all get here and the mind stone fragment will be mine!" said the voice.

Penny dived out of the way this time, the numbers slowly building up means she has to forsake defense for movement. "Not going to happen! I have been holding back because of their apperance... but in the end, they are just robots aren't they?" Her fists tighten as she charges at one of her attackers, throwing an uppercut to the gut before spinning around for a back hand on the other.
