I think this is you just being more into domme since you've basically said you want to reverse the roles. Damn man gotta have a few scenes without Steele in control.

I'm... not sure if you've read everything else I've said? I do like making my Steele submissive, it's just that I don't want to do it with people who act like pricks.

And the hate on Embry is real like damn, didn't think she'd be this unpopular.  I would've expected more people to say they hated the rival considering how wild that thread about them was.

That's kind of what domme characters do that's the whole point it's for their pleasure not Steele's. Being bottom and being submissive are like two sides of two completely different coins. Being used as a living fucktoy is the main part of the job. But this is derailing a bit.

I don't exactly hate Embry or anyone for that matter, TiTs does a good job at letting you take what you want and avoid what you don't, however Embry could have so easily been a good character and they weren't.

I've never had a problem with the rival they are supposed to be the antagonist and they do just that, antagonize.

It's really them being pricks even when they're not having sex with you. You might like that, but I don't. We just have different opinions and that's fine.

Going to try to write this without considering distaste in sexuality

Embry there is a ton of wasted potential there. I don't think creating a race or planet for the character was or is a bad thing at all, the idea of the Simii offers distinct possibilities as a whole and honestly if the character had a bit more focus on that aspect rather than an excuse for the characters completely tame personality. I mean Embry comes from a race that is against transformation both culturally and biologically, the culture shock of moving from moving from their home planet to a place like Tavros would have given so many options for interaction with other characters giving the two popular mod shops. Instead the character arc focuses solely on wanting to change genders which is so normal in this universe that the story is almost offensively boring and Embry has no other real traits outside of that.

You are a mockery of Our Lord and Saviour Saitama's name. You missed a whole bunch of things about Embry. No good first impressions were made.

Welcome to the forums, I guess.

I mean if you are talking about Zephyr yeah, but Sera has so few lines before you start her sex path that she doesn't get to be a prick until you've started sex with her.

Then I suppose I must self terminate, thanks, I guess.

Sera is overly aggressive, confrontational and prickish towards everyone, in nearly any interaction she has half a reason to do so and in some she has none. It makes her endearing in a weird roundabout way.

I like to think so. It was certainly what I was aiming for. Some people don't like it and that's fine, she's heavily gated behind "I quite like being abused by this demon dick girl". I mean if you've gotten far enough to unlock her extra scenes and then think "Hey... this woman is rude as hell to me! What gives?" ...I don't know what to say.

Not necessarily. Many doms focus mostly on the sub's experience, their gratification arising from knowing what the sub's being put through. Xanthe's a reasonably good example of this.

It's almost as if each dom and sub is different.

From what I understand of RL Dom/Sub relations, the Sub is the one who is really in charge since they can instantly end things, the Dom is for the most part catering to what the Sub wants. A Dom that does whatever the hell they want with no care for the Sub isn't so much a Dom as an abusive asshole, there is a fine line between playing the abusive partner and being an abusive partner.

Though that kind of "line in the sand" doesn't really need to exist in fiction.

That's an important point here. In fiction doms are often focused upon their own pleasure because that's not really something that can happen in real life, or at least not without serious consequences. You can have that fantasy about being or using a "living fuck toy" without worrying about someone getting hurt, or one person simply saying "nope, not doing this".

Since the threads has gone completely off the rails and ended up as (sort of) a discussion of BDSM and it's representation in TiTS, I have a question for you guys.

Do you think that it's feasible for an NPC in a porn game not to 'wear' their Dom/Sub 'hat' all the time and to leave most of their attitude at the bedroom door, while still being a pronounced bona fide Dom/Sub and being of any interest to people who like the kink?

Of course it's FEASIBLE. What you're asking is why NPCs who do BDSM tend to be full-time doms or slaves. Again, it's the ability to realise a fantasy it's very difficult to IRL. Full-time BDSM relationships exist, but they require a lot of sacrifice most people are not willing to; after two hours you go back to being Ellen and John, sort out dinner and talk over plans for the weekend. So writing characters who don't have to worry about their career or the kids and "be" the kink are of huge interest to dom/sub writers.

Iirc Dom Whitney in CoC was a lot like what you were talking about, written so that you could enjoy that without it affecting your standing with the other slaves. Would such a character be of interest in TiTS? Of course, any kind of dynamic is of interest to someone out there (If I'm going to be unfair, I have to say posts that go along the lines of "A dom but one that's nice to me all the time and does this exact thing to me within these parameters and isn't a mean poopie head in conversation" invariably make my eyes roll, because it stinks of That Sub). The structure and attitude of an NPC isn't the main issue as to whether they'll exist - it's whether anyone's willing to write and code it.

To quote a rather hilarious piece of Mass Effect fan fiction I read a while ago... "paragon in the streets, renegade in the sheets."

More seriously: Yes. Remember that that one of the (many) reasons for the dom/sub thing is to set aside who are you are at the door. Sure, out there, you're General McAwesomesauce, with all the power and responsibility that goes with it... but in here, that doesn't matter. Kneel.

Fiction is powerful when we can identify with it in some way. Most people that are into the whole BDSM scene aren't in it because they want to be harsh to a slave all the time, or because they want to give up who they are to serve somebody else permanently. Regardless of their personal motivations, it's a temporary deal, and by having the fiction - the story we're crafting here - more accurately reflect what people actually do, we can make for a more compelling tale.

Speaking personally, I'm less interested in a scene when it deviates too far from what I consider to be plausible. That definition is pretty broad - I'm a pretty credulous person, especially when it comes to science fiction - but it needs to have SOME basis in reality or I have a hard time accepting it. People engaging in some BDSM play in the bedroom? I can definitely get behind that. People wanting to turn themselves into a cocksleeve for the rest of their life? That's a little harder to swallow, if you'll pardon the expression, unless their situation is so broken as to make never having to think again an act of mercy.

At which point you have a tragedy, not erotic fiction. Or at least not something I find erotic. But hey, to each his or her own, I suppose.

Also, uh, hi! I'm new here.
