Space. To some, a vast, open void with horrors beyond imagine waiting within. For others, a vast opportunity for wealth. And for a small few, Space represents adventure and the unknown.

Still recovering after the second Kryslin War, humanity and their allies within the Alliance have slowly began to rebuild. With the military still crippled by the aftermath, many places rely solely on the work of Spacers and mercenaries to get odd jobs done. Brave individuals that risk life in limb for a chance to explore, conquer, or make their fortune traveling the distant stars. While many die young, others tell the tale of fantastical creatures and seemingly made up worlds that could only occur in imagination.

Are you a powerful psionic? A brilliant tech head? Or perhaps you live by skill, training, and wits alone? Whatever the case, the deepest parts of space are waiting. The question is, are you brave enough to venture there?

After several years of blood, sweat and tears, I am finally confident enough to release a table top game... well, in it's Beta stage anyway.

The Spacer Game (Title is a Work in Progress) is a sci fi game with elements of other genres such as Warhammer, Alien, Predator, and even some star craft thrown in. It currently features a Class system, Psionics, firearms, melee weapons, and a lot of technological goodies to make each character unique from others. The ultimate goal is to make a free table top game for anyone to enjoy, with all resources being able to be found online. That said, why am I asking for donations and advertisement?

Well, to be blunt, to get help. While I will eventually flesh the game out with my own money, bills, work, and video games tend to take time out of my life and from game design. With help, however, I can get the system online quicker, edited for my so-so grammar, and ultimately make it look more professional than it currently is. But, enough of that. Anyone can say they're working on a futuristic porny table top game. What people want to see is the current product.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oN22HauGCDZvPwOT5qZxQpoHTioKj_Hc6wkoNxGxDTs/edit

The Main document, where currently the rules, classes, and base races are. It has over 150 pages of content, so it might take a bit to sift through.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/14GCSbVKkYqZWDBkGalVYxLD-3l0VBFROFycxfccLpdo/edit

The Fringe Document includes all non-Alliance races currently implemented in the game, their technology, as well as Veteran Status classes.

Sadly, there is currently no website for all these things to go. However, I will update my Patreon page on anything new I add or amend. The game is currently playable, although admittedly I need to flesh out the races for more detailed information. That said, the final document will be a list of Vehicles, Ships, and Combat Walkers that PCs will be able to use. At the moment, any of these are up to DM imagination and discretion for price and statistics.

Edit:  Changed the Zasarian Veteran Class from Gadfly to Scavenger due to Scavenger fitting them them better.

Scavenger focuses less on combat, and more on making weapons and armor from salvage and scrap.

Take all of this with a grain of salt, but I see some problems with this project:

1) Your intro. I can’t find a something to check is it interesting for me or not from your introduction here or on your Patreon page. While 200+ pages of concept are good and all, but you need something to catch player’s eye right from the start. Your docs contain a lot of text to dig through, so possible players can’t find core perks of your project right away.

Let’s just pretend – you are in a lift with a billionaire, the kind who shits money. He asks, “What is your game about?” and hits the penthouse button. Now you have about a minute to get him interested to invest.

Use Tolkien’s “Lord of the rings” for example, it can be summarized with something like “In a fantasy world, a hobbit learns that destroying his magic ring is the key to saving the world from the dark overlord, so he sets off on a journey to break it”. It throws away a huge chunk of the story, but I can say if I’m interested or not almost immediately. After this – add some details.

2) How do I play your game? I tried to read the main doc, after some initial info about setting it slides into detailed info about races and species. Well, what’s your game about? How do I play it? How many players do I need to play one session? How much time does game session needs? Can you name a game with similar/close gameplay?

I’m not a native English speaker, so digging through 200+ pages of text to possibly get this info is a not very comfy prospect. You must have some kind of a demo, doesn’t matter which one. It can be an ugly web-page, w/e. Even if you can’t make it yourself, there are some dev forums with topics like “Hi, I can code. Let’s party up and rock!”

If all else fails, it’s a tabletop game – just take some colored paper/cardboard and make a video about playing it with your friends or family.

3) Your Patreon page seems more like a tip jar to me. Don’t get me wrong, such pages are ok for ongoing projects, but you are just starting out and don’t have any content besides those docs with design info.

Your rewards don’t have any real benefit for your patrons like early access to your game or some kind of a streamed play session. I think you need to be more creative with rewards for a 3 year project to kick it off - you have already invested a lot of time into it, why stop here?

I can’t interpret your first goal. Do you want to present your current design info in a different manner, or do you want to make a playable online demo?

Hmm, thanks.  I've never posted anything like this before, so i'll take all the advice I can get.  I can work on the Number 1 and 2, the 3rd thing will be a bit more difficult, as more or less the tip jar thing was pretty much what I was going for :p .  But i'll try to think up some better benefits, that might take a bit longer though.

And correct.  The first goal is to get an actual working website to be able to showcase the whole thing in a more flashy method than "Here's a bunch of words, read through it".

I'll start working on a intro, as well as a table of contents this week.

Note:  Likely will be changing the combat system to allow for Hexigram based tabletop.  Will be testing an alpha of this system over the next few weeks

for posting about an adult tabletop game you really didnt explain or even mention any adult elements...

The Adult elements are more or less from Racial Weaknesses (Such as Lepurans going in heat), to Sexual stats, which determine virgin (0 libido score), to total slut (20 Libido).  There are augmentations a character can take, such as the Pheromone Generators, breast augmentation, and even a Sex Bot upgrade, all of which help with seduction.

But ultimately, the game itself is what you put into it.  If you make a character with 20 libido, take on Pheromone generators, have a massive cock, a pussy, and tits, odds are the game will be more like Corruption of Champions or TiTs in terms of sexual content.  Inversely you could have a normal  game with some sex thrown in here or there, if you want more story based.  Or flat out remove all sex and have it be a normal, boring table top game.

Anyway, sorry about lack of updates.  Work has been busy, so I have sadly only had a limited time on the weekend to do much work.  So far the hexagonal board seems to be going well, and will likely be put in.  So, the Table of Contents page will be put on hold on the main document, although i'll likely put one on the Fringe document soon.  Since the document is being updated, expect the table of contents to be off by a page or two here and there until I can fully go back, and re-update it as it fills up.

Update:  Added Fertility and Pregnancy rules, as apparently those got lost during transition from Word Pad to Google Pad.

Extended Galvyran Race Information

Will likely be replacing the current battle rules with the hexigonal grid rules within the next week.  Which means the fun after of editing both documents to make sure the new combat rules fit.

Changed Avian Racial, they no longer get Perceptive.  Instead, they get a flat +5 to Accuracy due to keen eyesight.

Changed Nemura Racial, they now both Gain Poison Use, and turn all poisons used into Exotic Poisons.

Changed Intro around a bit.  In addition, added a Thank You portion, currently consisting of the beta testers at the bottom of the main document.

Note:  There will likely not be any new races added until I expand all current Racial Information.  As each Racial Expansion averages several pages in length, the process will likely take a while.   Does this mean I have no race plans?  No.  I have several in the Workshop document, but I feel that I need to expand the current races, and introduce any new Race in an expanded form from now on.

Now if you'll excuse me, going to go take a very long nap.

While I have stated I will not release new races to be playable until I do an expanded version of all current races (blah), that doesn't mean I don't have ideas on the workshop.  Rather than deciding myself, I decided to let the public at large decide for me.  The poll will take place for 2 months, with the winner going into Alpha stages, while losers will sit on the back burner for later polls;  Please note that the names will likely change, and the current name is likely a work in progress.  The current picks are all a bit monstrous in their own way, having been created, and ultimately turned on their creators.

Goo

The Grey Goo theory is a belief placed forward that speaks of an end of the world scenario, where a nanite creation replicates to the point of devouring the world, and all on it.  It is generally believed to be a low probability.... but what happens if it ever happened?  The Goo were designed to be garbage eaters, capable of eliminating global pollution by simply eating it.  Unfortunately, even garbage runs out.  Replicating out of control, their creators could only watch in horror as the Goo ultimately devoured every natural resource, plant, and animal.  Ultimately, they stripped the planet barren and moved on, devouring other planets in their wake.  Eventually, the Goo gained sentience, and have since stopped stripping planets devoid of life.  Durable, with extremely high regeneration and the ability to eat nearly anything, even a single Goo is a force to be reckoned with.  Often curious, and almost innocent, their nightmarish past is almost impossible to imagine now.

Kaiju

Created to act as shock troopers, the humanoid monsters known as Kaiju claimed many worlds for their creators.  Switching between humanoid and monstrous bodies, the creatures could infiltrate a world at its weak points, an bare their fangs at their enemies.  Unfortunately for their creators, instincts bred into them became their undoing.  Kaiju eventually turned on their creators, deciding the creatures were far to weak to hold their leashes.  Systematically destroying their creators, the empire they had help make was torn down, and placed under their ownership.  A proud, warlike race, Kaiju see others as one of two things.  Weak, and worthy of nothing other than death or to be ignored.  Strong, and worthy of respect.  Capable of changing into one of three powerful forms, a lone Kaiju can quickly turn the battle with an out burst of rage, fangs, and claw.

Homunculous

Androids were originally created to be slaves to many races, a fate that only the Homunculous can relate to.  Built to carry out high risk tasks, Homunculi were disposable, easy to produce, and capable of reproduction at a high rate.  Ages passed, but the tasks set before them only became more dangerous and generally suicidal, until finally, they simply had enough.  Rising against their creators, the kill switch, a degenerative virus placed in the entire race was activated at once.  They watched as their creations withered and rotted away... and then rise up as something else.  Using Cybernetics to prolong their lives, the slaves continued the uprising, until finally, they were masters of their own domain.  But freedom came at a cost, a complete reliance on Cybernetics to replace their rotting bodies, until eventually only what amounted to a brain in a jar is left.  With powerful, cybernetic bodies, and a strong will, A Homunculous doesn't fear death.  Using a constant supply of Cybernetics, Homunculi have mastered its use, making it cheaper, and far more effective than any other race can hope.

This looks extremely fun and fleshed out so far. I've always wanted to get into Tabletop games but I don't have people nearby to play and haven't found a decent one online yet. Best of luck with getting a site and demo up and running.

You as well.  Your best bet would be roll20, and post an add for a sci fi game with adult themes.  Still would have to find a DM for it.  If you do, feel free to send them my way and I can help you start it.  Might be a welcome break from the mindlessness that is race fleshing out and table of contents making.

Work has been hectic, so just a conclusion of the poll.

With a margin of 1 vote, the Goo wins over Kaiju.

At the start of next month will be a new race poll.  Stay tuned for it!

Sorry about the lack of updates, just been sick for a few weeks.  First week result is... surprisingly Orucu.  Guess space orcs trump space cows?

Updates:  Changed Infernal Weapon and flamethrowers to be a straight line as opposed to a a cone, due to grids having trouble with north or south facing coning so to speak.

Next Battle...

Lamia vs Arachne, spider vs Snake.

Will it be  spiders or snakes to face off against space orcs?

Hello guys! I'm a part of the testing team that PAC has to test out the system every week. I gotta say, it would be great if more people could help support him with this game, it's really fun. I mostly played D&D for boardgames, but I'm already enjoying this a lot more than D&D (probably because of my sci-fi bias).

It's great to see people participate in the polls (even if the creatures I want don't win. What was wrong with homunculi you goo-fuckers!), but it would be nice to see more contributions and activity with this. Ask PAC to have a game or 1-on-1 sessions with him to try it out, or start your own campaign with the documents provided. Spread the information around, donate to the patreon account. I would love to see this game get way more activity and have even more fun with it.

Let's have a wonderful, growing community shall we?

I'd be down for being part of a game run with this (I've not read it yet, don't shoot me). Certainly could use more outlets for RPing and story creation around the site.

So after doing a bit of reading, one thing I can tell you is that putting together a working Table of Contents would make the docs a lot easier to work with. Definitely up for being part of a game running with this, though, based on what I've read. Really lots of options for "build-a-race" when it comes to the hybrids and the addition of the Fringe species/aliens.

Edit: Also, are these branches of the classes the initial class you would select? You mention there are Master and Veteran Classes. For example, would Protector be the class of a new character or would it be Keeper? This is a very confusing thing I'm having while looking through this.

It would be Keeper, it's the psionic variant of the Protector class. Master classing after the 10th mission would be to take the other variants of the class as well.

Yeah, I keep putting it off.  I'll likely be finishing up the Assault Classes, and then bite the bullet and finish up the table of contents, then assume the fetal position

(Should be no surprise, I'm making a Keeper.)

Good to know it's what I thought. Really hope people step forward to make some games for this. Hybrid Human/Azgane FTW.

I don't suppose that I'd be able to convince you of the burning need for Male Bulor as a sort of slave caste in Bulor culture, huh? The lack of traps makes me sad and I always love playing as that type of character.

Could get behind this (hue). Maybe male Bulor are accepted with more open arms to the Alliance due to having inside knowledge for handling the Bulor, even occasionally bringing in the slutty whores? Could really flesh the race out more towards a sort of Amazonian idea, too.

Hmm?  There can be traps.  Literally and sexually, i've had people play them before.  Potentially there can be Bulor males, but they'd likely be killed on sight due to 'inferiority'.  On a colony world well outside normal bounds?  Could be a few here and there, and uses their feminine look to pass as a girl while dealing with Bulor and others.

Well, after a resounding win by Lamias over Arachne (to the point I almost called it a week early (14 to 3).  This next one will hopefully not be so one sided.  A massive update should be happening this weekend, so look forward to it, but in the mean time...

A bit surprisingly, Vespas beat out the Lunestran.  Will be uploading the next poll later today.  In the mean time, a small update to the Keeper class.

-Psionic Barricade-You project a massive field in up to Medium Range that has a shield equal to 4 times your Psionic score.  You may use an action to refresh the shield to its full health, but may not use any psionic powers while channeling the barricade.  Moving also moves the barricade an equal number of spaces.  Enemies and allies may freely pass through the shield, although any attack made against allies is instead against the Barricade’s shield.  When the Barricade comes down, you are stunned for one round.  You may use Psionic barricade once per battle.

It now allows Keepers to still perform actions while channeling Psionic Barricade, although limited to skill checks, and weapon attacks.  This was mainly due to the common complaint that, while effective at protecting allies, Keepers came across as being rather boring, being stuck just maintaining a channel until it got over taxed.
