Gonna try to keep as to the point as possible, but growing up I was from a fairly religious household, grew up with nearly only disney stories etc, not too uncommon, but as I got older and had bad experiences and heard more, made the idea of a partner with someone else a absolute nightmare, like panic attack just thinking about it. With a few problems and fears I've had like physical pain, I've had the most success with exposure therapy, even though I didn't know what it was called at first. Not trying to tmi, point was, not trying to sound too kiss butty but these games in particular seems to be extraordinarily good as experiences for multiple lifestyles, in easily digestible fashion and kinda just extreme enough to make it more... palatable I guess is the right word dunno. Like with Cait, if you're new to the concept then it feels pretty cheaty, but over time you can see her always helping, being equal to partners, being open and honest up front, and taking cares with partners so they don't have spreadable diseases. Maybe she's a bit closer to a fantasy representation, but it can help be a no-risk environment to experience a open relationship, to either know if it is or isn't for you, or if you get kinda attached to characters, help deal with the emotional pain of them being with others. Maybe not the same as irl but it could at least help take the edge off so if your partner ever did something like that, you could handle it better and hopefully deal with it in a slightly more stable frame of mind instead of absolutely freaking out. Have they helped anyone else?
