Dark Knight Build

Recently I've gotten interested in a "dark knight" type of character. When I say dark knight, I don't mean the corruption system in the game, his personality is leaning towards the more good side of the spectrum however he's a bit edgy sometimes (personally never liked roleplaying as evil characters). I saw a few clips of the dark knight class in FFXIV and thought that would be cool to play as in COC2. I'm wondering if this kind of character is possible to make in this game and what type of stats, gear, skills, and companions he would have. Any advice would be welcome!

I imagine you'd want blight related abilities so Reaping Blade would be pretty good, that's a very late game ability though.

I feel it would end up being a kind of tanky Red Mage. The super limited ability slots really limits the goofy builds you can make in this game.

Yeah, if you want something closer to the XIV model you'd want to be looking at heavy armor and two-handed weapons (mainly of the sword persuasion) and Blight-based powers to be thematically close, plus general Warrior powers for weapon attacks and tanking. Vitality Reap would be a good go-to that combines the right kind of damage with HP absorption and Flames Within being a 'trade damage for a massive stat boost' ability is pretty similar to the general schtick of FF Dark Knights sacrificing health for damage.

Yeah, I've been running something similar. Reaping Blade, Flames within, Steady Strike and Charge weapon for the time being. Couple of those will likely change depending on what abilities are added/made available later on, but I think Reaping Blade and Flames within are pretty damn good/thematically appropriate.

Alrighty, I now know the appropriate skills to use and can mostly guess the gear but what about companions?

I don't know how much research you've done. There's one companion specifically that I think would work really well with a Dark Knight. I'll post it in a spoiler button thing below, just in case.
At one point later on in the game, when you pick up Succubus milk, it says to give it to someone who has an affinity for magic, or something along those lines. If you give it to Viviane and DON'T warn her what it came from, she becomes a demon, which I feel like would fit in real nice with a Dark Knight.

Assuming you have some combo of Vitality Reap and Reaping Blade you're going to be capable of decent self-healing even if you have Flames Within constantly damaging you, but you're going to want somebody else who can play healer for the rest of the party and for when other abilities are exhausted/on cooldown. Depending on how you pick your Powers and gear you're probably going to fill the party tank role while also being able to dish out decent damage. In all likelihood you'll want someone else able to do non-Blight damage to help against anything able to resist that (like demons) but you shouldn't have too much in the way of restrictions for your non-healer spot.

Dark Knight (in the XIV sense) isn't really evil or demonic in nature, so much as it's channeling anger at injustice and using it to protect the weak.

What kind of stats i should focus on that build ? i'm going Strength, Agility and Cunning, should i change Agility for willpower ? (my team are healer Cait and Pyromancer Brienne)

Vitality Reap and Reaping Blade both scale off Spellpower, so if you want them to do more damage then spending points leveling up Willpower (or using an alcohol boon to temporarily max it out) is how you'd go about doing it. That said, with that party composition you're probably going to want to lean more into the tank role so your squishier companions don't get taken out quickly. I'd suggest that depending on how battles are working out for you (who's doing the most damage, who's generating the most Threat?) you might consider sacrificing one of Agility, Cunning or WIllpower for Toughness so you're better at taking hits.
