[Unfortunately that is correct. I need @Chaotic Neutral Taco to roll deception to see how Gwen's action affects the gnolls.]

[Apologies for the delay, everybody. Life has been little rough for me this past week]

[Gnoll Insight Checks: 11, 13] Both of the gnolls immediately turn their attention to what sounds like their leader, looks of surprise on both of their faces when they see 'Kavra' still standing. Their brief lapse in focus allows the knight and the sprites to strike at the witherling and the warrior with utmost precision, two arrows piercing the gnoll warrior's armor while the knight engaging the witherling cuts clean through the undead savage's spine with his longsword, severing his upper body from his lower and leaving him as a pile of bones!

As the gnoll warrior is stricken with another pair of sprite arrows, he flounders back and forth for a second before he loses consciousness, falling to the ground in and uncoordinated heap. Rona, Kriv, and Gwen can all see the subtle rise and fall of the warrior's broad shoulders as he breathes. The aliment lining those arrows may have rendered the brute unconscious, but he's far from dead, and there's probably no telling how long the effects will last.

Seeing the gnoll warrior fall to the ground earns a sigh of relief from the wounded knight. He uses his remaining strength to clutch the reigns of his horse in one hand and his longsword in the other, keeping himself from falling off.

"Excellent work, you three! You never cease to amaze!" Pascal re-mounts his horse then directs his men at the improvised gnoll blockade while shouting out to his men, "Any knights who can still fight, with me! Charge and pierce right through their formation! We need to clear the way get this caravan moving before they try to encircle us!"

Only the wounded knight remains behind while the 3 others and Pascal charge ahead to pierce through the blockade while the shaky lead wagon driver steels himself, murmuring a prayer. To which god or goddess - no one truly knows.

Rona and Gwen's horses are still tied up among the caravan and can be easily retrieved and re-mounted should they wish.

[Up to the three of you if anyone wants to execute the gnoll, leave him for dead, torture him, fuck him, ect.]

Grinning, Gwen would drop the disguise before any friendly faces turned their eyes her way. Running to her horse, she climb into the saddle, once again sitting side-saddle, before pulling the reins from the cart. She’d pull into position behind the knights, getting ready to charge, but taking cover behind them.

“How far is the keep? Rosa should have reinforcements coming, if she made it through!”

Rona would give the fallen gnolls a small glance before she begins to carefully climb down the hill and sets about returning to the wagons. She'd head over to one of the sprites and address it with a small bow. "Thank you for your help. I will ensure you safe passage to the best of my ability if you wish to accompany us."

After this she stepped away and headed towards the caravan. The mouse would set about attempting to find Irena and the human woman she had met in the tree hollow. If she were to find Irena, she'd immediately set about checking her health, ensuring she wasn't hurt in the fight. She would do the same for the human woman, were she to find her first.

Kriv watches them go, then looks down at the gnoll. He tilts his head, thinking for a bit. Hmm. Living with the shame of being defeated by humans... Death would probably be better. He shrugs and hefts his axe, before swinging it down, cleanly chopping his head off, before looking around for Xali.

"Not much farther! Just a bit further through this accursed thicket and we'll be there!" Pascal shouts back. "As for Rosa, we'll just have to hope that she didn't encounter any trouble along the way!"

The gnoll archers immediately scramble as the knights come trampling through, opening a wide path for the caravan to follow through. The first wagon driver grips the reigns and kicks his horses into a full sprint after the escort. One by one the other carts soon follow, but the last remaining two remain behind.

As the knights pass by the archers, the entire party can make out a plume of smoke coming from 20 feet off to the right of the road. With her darkvision, Gwen sees a pair of gnolls hurriedly stacking more deadwood onto an already sizable pile then setting it ablaze with a torch.

Riding further and further through the thicket, the pathway begins to gradually open and Gwen can make out the structure of a motte & bailey style castle in the distance, its gates are fully open and the drawbridge is being let down, providing the only source of passage across the large moat that surrounds it.

Kriv & Rona

Kriv hears small footsteps behind him before he feels a grip on his belt as Xali climbs up his body again, taking her rightful place on his shoulder.

As Rona approaches the wagons, she can see Irena telling the wagon drivers to hold off as the human woman comes over to her, "Don't worry, whiskers. I'm fine --"

Suddenly multiple distant howls can be heard off in the distance, coming from the direction where the gnoll raiding party first emerged.

The human woman peeks out from the back of one of the wagons, her naked body now wrapped in a blanket. The villagers around her are shuddering at the sound of the howls. "None of us will be if we stay here!" She gestures for Kriv, Lisadra, and the sprites to get aboard, "We can still make room for the lot of you!"

"Whatever you lot wish to do, do it quick!" The wagon driver shouts while pointing to the rest of the convoy getting further and further away, "Our window for escape's closin'!"

Grabbing the attention of the closest knight, Gwen would order him to join her, before riding for the gnolls by the stack of fire wood. Charging to the side of one of the gnolls, she would leap off and attempt to knock the gnoll over while stabbing at it with her two daggers.

(4 + 6 = 10
2 + 3 = 5
I won’t bother with damage.)

Rona was unable to help a smile from crossing her muzzle as she sees Irena assisting the human woman. Though as the howls of the gnolls in the distance pierce her ears she grimaces and runs over towards her horse.

Jumping atop the horse she'd steer it over towards Lisadra. Reaching down she'd quietly offer her a hand to help her climb atop the horse, if she wished to join them. "We can aid you too, if you wish. But decide before any choice is taken from us." She states, glancing towards the hills where they heard the howling.

"Ahh... Shit. Yeah, we gotta get moving!" He calls out, hopping into a wagon. "Even I can't take out that many." He murmurs, narrowing his eyes as he peers into the distance.
He pats Xali's thigh, then looks up at her. "You did good. I suppose it was a good thing I brought you along, hmm?" He murmurs, smirking up at her.

Kriv can make out a notable red tinge on the goblin's cheeks, "I-It was the least I could do after you spared me." With her next words, her tone grows more firm. Confident. "Besides, you and I still have a score to settle with your brother, right? And if he's run off towards the portal, then I'll do everything I can to make sure you get there safely."

As they converse, they feel the cart's entire frame getting jerked along as the driver lets out a "hya!" as the cart begins to move at a rapid pace.

"Excuse me, but did you say spared?" The human woman they rescued interjects, clutching her blanket around her naked body.

"We were..." Xali pauses for a moment as she tries to conjure up the right words. "Kinda sorta enemies at one point. It's complicated." She gives Kriv's horns an affectionate rub. "But I owe him a great debt."

One of the male villagers narrows his eyes as he stares Xali down, "Wait just a minute... you're one of those godless green ones who came in rapin' n' pillagin' our village along with the rest of em'! The whole reason we're even in this mess is 'cause 'o you! " He gestures to the woman, "And if Sindra here's story is anything to go, more scum of your ilk is probably out there ravaging the lands of the Huntsman's kinsmen, too!"

Kriv hears no response from Xali at those lasts words, though he can feel her body shivering atop him as all eyes in the cart save for Sindra and Irena bear down upon the goblin.

Gwen & Rona

Without hesitation Lisadra hops onto the back of the saddle. With their height difference, Rona can feel her head sinking between Lisadra's supple breasts as the dryad leans forth, wrapping her arms around the monk's waist.

Gwen's sudden strike cuts through the air like a blur, the dagger embedding itself inside the gnoll's hide armor, but not piercing far enough to pierce flesh. The knight rushes in on her command and manages to get a glancing blow on the second gnoll.

Just as the archers attempt to retaliate, the sound of multiple thundering hooves can be heard coming from the direction of the castle.

If Gwen looks in that direction, she can see a whole platoon of knights barreling right into the gnoll archers from the with Rosa at the fore.

Upon seeing the reinforcements, the two gnolls Gwen and the knight turn and disengage before hurrying away as fast as their legs could take them into the nearby brush.

"MY LADY!" Gwen can see her retainer's brown eyes alit with a raging blaze as she comes in firing her newly acquired light crossbow at the retreating gnolls, the bolt missing and only hitting one of the trees. "That's it, you damned brutes! Run!"

Rosa leaps off of her horse and hurries over to Gwen, "Madame! Thank Morne you're still okay. They didn't manage to --" Her words catch when she sees some of the recently healed wounds that were inflicted by Kavra.

He lets out a deep, threatening growl at their words. "Back off." He growls. "She was not responsible for whatever the others of her kind did. And I spared her because why senselessly kill her rather than bring her in to serve a better cause?" He says, glancing up at her. "Plus... With her on our side, we'll have more information to fight the others with. Trust me... They were pretty much tricked into serving by my asshole brother. He's the real reason we're in this mess. If you want to blame anyone, blame him." He mutters, before glancing up at Xali.

"Besides. She's cute." He adds, shrugging.

Rona would grimace slightly as she heard the accusations lobbed at Xali. With a brief glance over to the cart she simply shakes her head and spurs her horse onwards once Lisadra was securely behind her. She didn't particularly enjoy the fact that a goblin was travelling with them, and would waste little breath defending her. It helped that she knew the Dragonborn the goblin was accompanying was more than enough defense for her.

As she felt those soft mounds of flesh near her head she blushed lightly and tried not to think about it too much. Though as she spurred the horse forward, riding a few dozen feet in front of the wagon containing Irena, Sindra and the others. Her eyes would flick back occasionally to the cart but mainly she watched the horizon, careful to try to watch any movement. Eventually she rested back against Lisadra, making excuses in her mind to justify the desire to feel her body pressed against the woman.
"Where will you go from here, Miss?" She asks politely, her voice soft and overly formal, but clearly *attempting* to be friendly.

Stepping forth and gripping both of Rosa’s arms, Gwen would press to quick kisses to her face, one on the lips and another to her forehead, a sign of thanks.

“You arrived in perfect time, thank you Rosa. Thank Morne indeed, or whatever god saw fit to give you a fast steed. Don’t worry about me, the only wounds we’ll have to sew are those in my clothes, as long as news of what happens here aren’t told in a way that would damage my ego.”

Hopping back up on her own horse, she usher Rosa to join her, before nodding to the warrior that joined her.

“And thank you as well, sir knight.”

Gwen

The moment her lady grips her, Rosa pulls the half-sea-elf in for a sudden hug. Gwen can feel the the retainer's body shuddering against hers, a sniffle coming from her as she nods, "Yes, madame. I'll make sure you are remembered as the heroine of this great battle. I'm "

After Rosa releases her and she climbs on her horse, knight gives her a salute and a smile, "It was an honor, ma'am. And she's right. It was a brave thing you did. Challenging that savage all on your lonesome for the sake of the villagers."

Suddenly Gwen can feel a familiar pulsation within her satchel that sends a tingle up her spine to the nape of her neck. An image of a pair of purple earrings embeds itself into her mind and instinctively she doesn't even have to open the satchel to guess what is inside.

Kriv

Xali tries to open her mouth to say something, but she turns absolutely red at the latter part of Kriv's defense.

"Whatever her past, her and the Warrior of Hades saved my life. If she was still in league with the beasts, she could've up and ran to their side while they still had the chance. But here she is! Still helping us."

The surrounding villager's expressions all soften as they process Kriv and Sindra's valiant rebuttals, some of them giving Xali accepting nods. Kriv can still feel a slight tenseness in the wagon, but the goblin seems to have a foothold in gaining their trust. That's a start.

"To think a dragonborn really is in cahoots with these beasts. Gods, I've heard one Mavrinian soldier on his lonesome is at least 10 knights."

Rona

"There are a certain three sisters in the forest who I'll be paying a visit to. I believe they'll play a large part in untangling this whole nightmare."

Two sprites fly in on either side of Lisadra and Rona and one of them speaks. "And we'll come with you!"

"Absolutely not!" Rona can see the sprites flinching from Lisadra's sudden outburst. The dryad takes a breath. "Forgive me, but this is something I must do alone. I'll do all I can to fix what that corruption took from your homes. I promise. But right now I'll need you four to stay at the castle and help the knights make sure these people have a home to come back to as well. It's the least we can do after they helped us."

Everyone

As the caravan finally passes over the drawbridge, they can see the banner of the House of Rivendare draped over the animal hide reinforced timber wooden walls surrounding the bailey. They depict a sparrow with outstretched wings clutching a pair of arrows within its talons.

Inside the courtyard proper, the villagers give their thanks to Kriv, Gwen, and Rona then begin to unload while Pascal has the knights direct any wounded to the living quarters, barracks and any storerooms that can be utilized as an impromptu triage center.

"There are more injured than we thought. Tell the apothecary we need more medicine!" A female voice calls out, "Ensure everyone is given proper treatment!"

As this goes on, a woman with dark cat ears standing at the height of 5'6 flanked by a pair of guards approaches from the stone keep sitting atop the higher hill. Silver jewelry hangs from a vest and pants as black as her hair, swaying in the gentle breeze of the night air. Beneath those dark bangs are emerald eyes filled with worry as she hefts a crate full of medicine.

"Oh, thank goodness everyone is okay. You're lady Gwen-Dara, pleased to --" She tries to extend a bow to her, but nearly stumbles from the weight of the crate, "Pleased to make your acquaintance. I am Kathrisse Rivendare. Daughter to Calarius Rivendare." She nods to Rosa, "Miss Vandimion has told me much about yours and your friend's heroics. If it weren't for his, my father would be thanking you himself for saving his people."

5de18d5ecb7af_BnxYrTW.jpg

Suddenly everyone can hear the familiar clanking of plate armor and in just mere moments Charles' massive frame is blocking part of Gwen-Dara's view. The knight commander has a hand over his black right eye. "Heroics that couldn't possibly have been achieved without the brilliant defensive tactics of I, Charles Abrams! Tactics that have been passed down through the Abrams line for 800 years!"

Kriv sees the cultist that Rona detained now tied up in manicles, her eyes wide with fury as she passes by Xali, shouting, "Traitorous bitch! I always knew that Mareth should've been your grave! You and the rest of your tiny, insignificant -- !"

One of the knights strikes the back of her head with the pommel of his sword, "Quiet!" He turns to Kriv and Rona, "Sir, ma'am? This one will be held up in the keep if you wish to question her. Just say the word and we'll get started."

“It was not brave, I had planned dirty tricks all the while, but we can tell his Lordship it was a fair duel, yes?”

Gesturing for Rosa and the knight to join her riding back to the others, she offered each a smile and a nod.

“Now, have the gnolls been a problem here before? Or is this a new issue that seems connected to what happened earlier tonight?”

"At least fifteen if trained properly and they're not stupid." He murmurs, smirking. "And that's not counting our-" He stops abruptly, realising he'd already said too much. He didn't know if these humans knew about their breath abilities, but he wasn't going to say anything about it regardless.

He looks out of the wagon as they approach, and raises an eyebrow at the cat lady bowing to Gwen, then chuckles as he hops off the wagon, walking up to stand next to Gwen. "Hmm. I knew you were important... But I gotta say... I didn't figure it was this important." He murmurs, smirking, before letting out a groan when he sees Charles. "Seriously? You again? Fuck off already, mate. You weren't even anywhere near the fight!" He growls, grabbing Charles by the side of his head and pushing him out of the way. "I've had enough of your shit." He growls at him, teeth bared. "Puffed up fool." He adds, rubbing salt into the wound.

Rona would flinch slightly at Lisadra's brazen opposition to having the sprite's assistance as she traveled into the woods to visit the Sisters she mentioned. With a small smile she'd glance back to the druid. "I value independence above most things, ma'am. Yet being so staunchly opposed to aid does not lend well to trust." After a moment she shakes her head and sighs. "Best of luck on your journey, Miss. If you require additional aid at any point do not hesitate to ask."

As they cleared the drawbridge and the caravan began to unload she slid off the horse, offering a hand to help Lisadra off. Were she to take it, she'd give the druid a small smile and a gracious bow. "May the Gods protect you, Ma'am. Thank you four your assistance." With that she'd turn and join the group, frowning as she saw Charles, and scowling as she saw the captured Cultist. "If I could arrange to question her within the next hour or two that would be much appreciated, Sir Knight." The Rodezan simply said before glancing over the crowd, quietly ensuring that Sindra, Irena, the Lupine, and any others she recognized had made it to the keep safely.
